I've bought from them before: http://owfinc.com/Fabrics/NylonWoven/Ripstop.asp#Nylon%20Ripstop:%20Coated Note that the coated is silnylon. About the 4th one down lists tan. last edited: 4/22/09 10:28:45 AM” 11:00:58 AM 4/22/09 “Correct, I live in a hotel. In will for another while.” 12:13:49 PM 4/22/09 “Thank you Dayhiker!” 12:20:03 PM 4/22/09 “it's thursday!!” 1:52:48 AM 4/23/09 “...ok..ok...I'm up..... ...last night the neighbors had LOUD music until 11...I should have went out @ 4am & turned my car stereo on full blast....I bet THEY would have called the cops on me! ..I just don't understand....They sent Lees dad home from hospital...now keep in mind he is only walking to the bathroom and they are monotoring intake & output...( ok...I don't know how to spell it!) & he still isn't eating or drinking much and hasn't had a bowel movement.... ...he had to go back last eve...he was running a fever & nauseated...WHY are they sending him home before he is ready???????? ...sheesh... ...ya'll have a great day.....I have 7 more to go...wooo hoooo!!!” 3:28:13 AM 4/23/09 “Good morning, looks like it'll be a nice day out and we've had some good ones lately. I fished Friday through Sunday last week and caught a bunch of trout each day. Did some hiking and bike riding too. This weekend is supposed to be in the 80's so it's looking good to do anything outside. I'm off to see the thoracic surgeon today. My chest CT scan showed two new nodules and this time there's one in my left lung. Never had one on that side. Totally sucks and there seems to be no end to this. I had my second chemo yesterday and it's going okay so far and I'm not getting too sick. Sass, call up Outdoor Wilderness fabrics about the tan nylon. Looking at the weight of the coating at 1 oz. it looks like it's not silnylon. Silnylon normally has a .25 coating and costs more than $6.40 per yard. Something doesn't add up there for it to be silnylon. My guess is that it's PU coated nylon. last edited: 4/23/09 3:10:27 AM” 3:42:58 AM 4/23/09 “Good catch Rich, it says the 1.1 is the sil and the other is the coated. I missed that. Sorry about that Sass. I've bought seconds from them and never been able to tell the difference, btw.” 4:07:36 AM 4/23/09 “Goooooood morning Vietnaaaam.......uhm I mean Memphis.” 4:33:51 AM 4/23/09 “Big hugs to you richb!” 4:48:00 AM 4/23/09 “Morning everyone. Lots of work to do today, most of it outdoors. I'd better slather on the sunscreen.” 5:31:18 AM 4/23/09 “Yeah, I caught that too. But it's the best I can find. I also thought about that clear-ish Cuban stuff. There's a good chance whatever I buy will end up with spray adhesive and sand all over it anyways. You'd think the ACU pattern camo would be perfect but being designed by the government it sticks out like a sore thumb in the sand (DOH!). I just hate to spend too much as I need at least 5-6 yards. The cuban stuff is almost double the cost and I worry it would be reflective as it's so white. I may just order the coated nylon as it doesn't weigh that much more than the sil. Unless maybe the weight of the coating is much heavier? I really appreciate all your input on this stuff! last edited: 4/23/09 5:59:22 AM” 6:20:42 AM 4/23/09 “I called the company and they were super helpful, are sending a sample and actually are holding the yardage (they are almost out of the tan) we need for a week until we can see if the color is good. She said it's urethane coated and about 1/2-3/4oz heavier per yard than silnylon. That's not too bad. She also said it's way more durable.” 7:54:12 AM 4/23/09 “If you plan to put any glue on the fabric. The only thing I know of that sticks to silnylon is silicone seal. Everything else will just peel off.” 2:04:49 PM 4/23/09 “Hopefully glue and sand won't be necessary if the color is right.” 2:23:24 PM 4/23/09 “Morning. Waiting for the thunderstorms to pass and the warm air to move in. Can't wait to be outside all weekend! 35 more days of school....” 3:24:55 AM 4/24/09 “LOL....SG....hang in there..... IT'S FRIDAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!....wooooo hoooooo!!!....6 days to go..... Friday is the best day of the week!!!...the excitement of knowing you have 2 days off!!! ..& we are supposed to have beautiful weather!!!!...in the 80's & sunny!!!! Ya'll have a GREAT weekend!!!!!!!!” 3:31:23 AM 4/24/09 “Morning y'all. Back from a trip to the nursery with my neighbor. She finally noticed the natural looking pond there, with plants, a few minnows to eat the mosquito larvae, and lots of singing frogs and toads. Her family has a thing about amphibians apparently. Now she wants a frog pond out back, about 18 inches deep, with plants, a few minnows, and a good place for her dogs to get a drink. I'll help, but...” 8:03:40 AM 4/24/09 “This weekend [...]Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine[...]” 5:04:17 PM 4/24/09 “What a fine morning it is! Get up you slugs and face the day!” 3:07:15 AM 4/26/09 “Good Morning!!!! ...thank you so much for prayers & good thoughts....Lee's dad was soooo sick Saturday....like I said, they called in a few more drs...one was for the infection...he started treating him with an antifungal or anti yeast....and a diabetic dr...who realised when the gave him the nutrition stuff, that he needed insulin with it ( duh) ( his sugar was 475 )... ...we went to hospital yesterday, and he is smiling & joking and feeling so much better...they even had him up walking the halls!!!!!!..Drs will be in today for updates....weekends sure can be long when waiting on a DR.... ...we went fishing yesterday...I am burned to a crisp...caught a bass & 2 mini brim... ...I hope everyone has a GREAT day!!!!” 3:52:41 AM 4/27/09 “Ugh, I want to go back to bed...I slept maybe 3 hours. I have to finish staining all of the boards for the pergola/ walkway going around/ over the koi pond filtration. What is it with dog bites around here? Last year, one neighbor's dog attacked another neighbor. The dog wasn't destroyed then, but was evaluated and trained intensively. The owners knew the dog in question had a serious aversion/ trigger from the doorbell and front door opening, but didn't tell anyone. Last night the dog attacked another neighbor; this one is the wife of a cop. It tore her leg up pretty bed. Needless to say, the dog's getting put down today. Instead of animal control doing it though, the dog owners' vet is coming to the house to do it, with police and animal control witnesses. This was the owners' only request. Also, the dog owner and the victim are next door neighbors. this is going to get ugly over the long run.” 5:40:43 AM 4/27/09 “I went on a retreat this weekend which was awesome. It was hot here this weekend, I get home and the pool was at 74. It's still pretty leafy, but otherwise fine. I peel back the solar blanket last night and next thing I know the three kids and I were swimming. It was a little chilly, but dang fun to get in for the first time. I gotta get those solar panels on this weekend and get things going.” 5:19:05 AM 4/28/09 “Dayhiker, our koi pond is already 81 and the quarantine bin (270 gallons) is 90. I need to rig a tarp (preferably tyvek so it reflects heat) over it. I need to slap a second coat of semi opaque stain on all of the boards we have sitting out in the back yard today. 2x6's, mostly 12 footers, a few 16 footers and 10 footers. It'll be a gaw-juss pergola/ shaded area when its done! I have to wait for the dew to burn off first, though. Lots to do today. Fun fun fun.” 5:30:04 AM 4/28/09 “Rain, rain, rain! Still going on a four miler w/ Birch when Ab gets on the bus. High of 56° so it'll be chilly. Then off to the tattoo shop so Birch can get one touched up and a new one. I don't mind the rain but some warmer air would be lovely! Treebait, we haven't had any new pictures of the Koi and backyard in awhile. I hope once the pergola is up you'll post some. Dayhiker, we used to swim in green, ice cold water every year. My mom would freak out claiming ear infections and bronchitis were sure to follow. I always loved opening the pool. We'd lay out the huge cover on the driveway and skate all over it (it was always slimey). Good times!” 5:38:46 AM 4/28/09 “There's a nice heavy snow falling at Old Faithful right now. Looks like about 4-5 inches. I'd love to bet here right now. Lots of snow, without the deep cold from December, when we were there. I'll try to post some pics of the fish soon, Sass. I now have all fish outdoors, including the goldfish. I had them indoors on an isolated bit of counter top, but it looks like a certain cat who loves water splashed a lot of it out. It ran down the cabinetry there, through the tile grout and under a wall and the wood floor. >:( I had a fan running on it for 3 days.” 6:29:22 AM 4/28/09 “mornin'... I'm back to work after a wonderful week off...going to a pre-retirement seminar this afternoon! :D” 6:32:28 AM 4/28/09 “Luckily this was just the solar cover. The main cover is a mesh safety cover that you can walk on. It's mesh and let's water and dirt through, but not leaves. Since it doesn't get cold here I levae the pool running all year. Through the winter it'll circulate for about 1 hr per day and as the temps rise I adjust. It's a salt system so it's always producing chlorine. The salt level was low so I expected there to not really be any chlorine. Emma wanted to go underwater and I wouldn't let her until I tested the chlorine. It's 3 ppm which is about ideal for a salt pool. Next thing you know they're jumping off the diving boar. I only had to fold back the cover. We'll probably take it off during the day on Sat and again on Sun. THis weekend I'm going to complete the solar water heater installtion and we should have the water temp in the mid to upper 80's by mid week next week. I'll post photos. Working off a 24 foot ladder has been, uh, exciting.” 9:59:16 AM 4/28/09 “I hear ya on the ladder thing. Not my favorite.” 10:00:44 AM 4/28/09 “I re-measured teh roof and it's about 15' up the slope. The panels are 12'. I'm probably going to have to figure out how to anchor them up high a few times and then stand on them while I anchor the downhill end. I don't want to plop them up there and slide off the roof. It's about 20' or so down to a concrete slab. My best hope would be to try and jump out from the roof and land in the pool should bad things happen.” 11:46:57 AM 4/28/09 “Huh, I don't know about the standing on them part.” 1:02:39 PM 4/28/09 “Hellooooo... ...I slept in this am.... ...our air conditioner isn't working :( ...hugs to all.....” 5:43:38 PM 4/28/09 “...Good Morning!!!! ...AC is broke.....but the temp now is in the 60s so not so bad...this afternoon will be a dif story.....in the 80s....at least they are calling for partly cloudy, so that will help keep us cool... ...Lee's dad is doing sooo much better... he kept down some food yesterday...and walked some....the DR says his liver is fine...yeah!!!...he is having some more tests done today....checking his pancreas...kidneys...etc... ...Thanks for the good wishes and prayers.... ...3 more days of work....wooooo hoooo!!!!! ya'll have a GREAT day....” 3:18:37 AM 4/29/09 “...Good Morning.... ...hugs.... ...have a great day!!!!!” 3:04:12 AM 4/30/09 “Good morning to all. Looks like another nice warm sunny day here in S.E. NC, but it would be nice if we could get a little rain.” 4:00:22 AM 4/30/09 “Divinity I'm so glad Lee's Dad is doing better. Grey day here. We are going to get pictures taken today through this program: http://www.oplove.org/. I'm all excited as we've never had a family portrait aside from church directory pictures. The photographer does the sitter for free, a twenty photo book for Joe to take with him for free and will come to the reunion and take pictures for free. Isn't that nice?! We were going to go geocaching afterward, but it's looking ominous outside. Maybe plan B will be to go see the Norman Rockwell exhibit at the DIA.” 5:05:09 AM 4/30/09 “Good morning, looks nice outside and I'm glad it cooled off. It was in the 90's for a few days and too hot for this time of the year. I'm going hiking with MSilver today. I had my third chemo treatment yesterday and don't feel too bad so far. I'm getting about one or two bad days per week, about as I expected. I put an ad in to sell my motorcycle so I'm hoping I get a buyer. I haven't been riding it the last two seasons so no sense in keeping it. Divinity, good news about Lee's father. I hope he continues to get better. last edited: 4/30/09 5:20:11 AM” 5:46:53 AM 4/30/09 “The bunnies took the morning off. I only spotted one out this morning.” 8:00:26 AM 4/30/09 “Oooh, a trip to the DIA sounds like a blast! Rockwell exhibits are always fun. So are Andrew Wyeth exhibits. Looks like rain here-I wish it would. It's been 10 degrees above average for the last week. Kinda like the entire winter being 10 degrees below average, I suppose. I actually had to use sprinklers around the yard. The exposed clay was all cracked and dry. Not good. I'm trying to get stuff ready for a weekend trip to the Smokies. We leave tomorrow, right after Laurel gets home from school. Headin' out to Elkmont, I hope. Sunday I was near HPM and a neighbor as they mowed around HPM's parents' fixer-upper they bought up here. The neighbor mowed over patches of poison ivy I'd just treated. I now have a few blisters and raw spots, and now red bands going up and down my forearms. They don't itch though. Yet. I'll get that reaction from soap sometimes, so hope fully that's all it is.” 8:07:02 AM 4/30/09 “RichB, G is thinking about selling his motorcycle too. He has been on it a handfull of times in the last few years. Wants to save that money for a boat. Another toy, but at least we can all use it as a family. Glad to hear you're hanging in there, too. I'm really ready for the rain to stop. Sun and 60's would be perfect right now. 30-something days left. I'm feeling better about things at school now, but I could use a break soon. :) Sass, tell Birch we say hello.” 6:01:35 PM 4/30/09 “ggrooooaannnn..... time to make the doughnuts” 1:54:35 AM 5/01/09 “What a great day! No work for 9 days!” 3:10:34 AM 5/01/09 “...WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!...today is my last day of work for 3MONTHS!!!!!!!!. ...wooooooo....hooooooo!!!!!! ...but now begins the BIG battle....my goal this summer is to eat better & lose weight...I already quit drinking pop & have lost some weight..... ...got our AC fixed...needed a new fan & something else...( can't remember..an actuator???...lol...) $300...the guy was here 15 min...sheesh...I am in the wrong business...lol.... ..I hope everyone has a GREAT day today!!!! ...HUGS!!!!” 3:35:43 AM 5/01/09 “It's inventory day for me. I have to get to the shop before the techs get there. I promoted my termite bait technician to service manager yesterday so I get to start training him today. Hopefully he catches on quick.” 3:53:21 AM 5/01/09 “Going away party tonight. Clean house, passport ap. turn in, pick up my new toy (and play with it a bit), and get all the extra beds in the house ready. Glad we don't have anyone living in the houses on either side of us today. =) The Rockwell exhibit was GREAT. And the pictures from our sitting yesterday are going to be awesome; can't wait to see them. The photographer was wonderful.” 6:10:18 AM 5/01/09 “Good morning, the hike yesterday was great. We hiked a 12 mile loop to Pine hill, caught some nice views from the observation deck and followed a stream to get back to the parking lot. Bugs weren't bad and temps were perfect for hiking. I had two calls so far for my motorcycle, but no serious bites yet. I hate selling something for the most part. You get people that don't show up or others that think you're going to give the thing away. I've been through this before and sold a bunch or motorcycles I've had. I'd like to get this over with. I'm toying around with the idea of getting a road bicycle if I do sell it. I'll see how it goes.” 8:11:34 AM 5/01/09 “mornin'... we just got the news that we'll be having 12 unpaid days off over each of the next two fiscal years...good news is they are shut downs instead of furloughs, so we don't have to fight for certain days.” 9:27:53 AM 5/01/09 “pick up my new toy (and play with it a bit) Sassafras 8:10:18 AM 5/01/09 wayyyy too much info darlin!!!!!! :)” 1:51:40 PM 5/01/09 “dang Sass that whole post....” 1:55:46 PM 5/01/09 “lol!” 2:40:41 PM 5/01/09 Jump to Page << prev
