I got my cast off my arm yesterday and he said my neck is healing nicely so next week I might get the wound vac removed. Underneath the cast they had my arm taped from my wrist to my elbow. That really hurt when he pulled all the tape off when it was stuck to my arm hair. After that they took the staples out of my leg. That hurt more than I expected since they got imbedded in there. The last one was stuck in my thigh like a fish hook. I asked the nurse for the removal tool and took it out myself after she had a few failed attempts. I'm glad that day is over. I got a good report yesterday. My neck wound is healing nicely and all the tissues were pulled together so he took the vac off. after being hooked up to tubes for almost a month it feels weird to move around freely now. He looked in my throat with the scope and said it looks good in there too and is healing well. I'm swallowing clear liquids, but it's not that easy. He said it should improve so we'll see how much. Next I have to see a radiation oncologist about getting my thyroid radiated. Probably 8 weeks of chemo too. That won't start until I heal. Divinity, I hope you feel better soon. SG, I had a thyroid biopsy a couple of months ago and it wasn't bad. They put a fine needle into the gland and take between 3 and 6 samples. I didn't even feel it. It is being taught by a man from Ohio, who is one of the best in the field in the U.S. I made a few throws and chokes, as well as taking some. On the way home I stopped at the poolhall. I rushed in to use the bathroom and then returned to the car to get some money from my pants. I was still wearing some of my uniform. I ended up locking both of my car keys in the car. Eventually, I found a friend who found someone, who said, "No problem." He had tools in his vehicle and in five minutes he had my car open. What luck! I asked him, "How much do I owe you?" He replied, "Nothing!" That was great since I was down to $2.00. However, I will be meeting him next week and plan to give him $30. Based upon going prices I feel that is a real bargain for me.
