Stomach distress from that mixture motivated me right away to real food. This feeding tube is bigger than the NG nose tubes I've had before so it would be tougher to block it unless I did something stupid. The mixture is vile and I remember some of the ingredients as beef collagen, malic acid, phosphoric acid and some artificial fruit flavors with more acid. What surprised me other than that you can drink it by mouth (if you are brave enough) was that it requires no refrigeration after opening. I went for my post op visits in Philadelphia yesterday and it was 52 degrees down there. Big difference from up here. I left here at 7 AM and didn't get home until around 7:30 PM. It was a long day and I was tired driving back. My pathology report was encouraging and they got good margins around the tongue base lesion and thyroid nodule. No other cancerous areas were on the report. The only problem I have now is that my stitch line opened up on my neck and formed a hole so we'll get a wound vac in place to fix it.
