I did wide range testing, and everything tested negative. Neutral Ph, no nitrogen compounds, no iron, no hardness, no carbonate hardness, nada. Koi need a little more than really clean, super soft water to thrive. So I'll goose carbonate levels a titch today. It will change the sumi (black color) on several of the fish. Everyone told him, "Give it a few days to get used to it.". After a week he said it still hurt so they took it out and tried to recath him and he started shooting blood so bad they thought he may bleed out. He told me, "I'll wear a effing diaper before I let them get near me with another cath!".
