I have to get HPM's and Laurel's suitcases packed up for their weekend jaunt to Florida this afternoon.

The day started wit ha bang; my neighbor Sharis and I alternate picking and dropping off kids at school. This morning she came over early in a total panic because one or both of her dogs got into the medication drawer, opened a bottle of thyroid pills and ate 118 doses of the stuff. She's at the emergency vet now, and I took the kids to school. I hope the dogs are okay. Her 1 year old great dane looked decidedly guilty this morning as he was led out to the car. This is the same dog who tried to eat light bulbs on 2 separate occasions. I guess he didn't like being so dim.

LOL treebait! hope the dog is OK.

I'm on day 2 of teaching while having the flu. I actually dread taking care of a baby by myself this evening more than spending the day with 8th graders. I hope it all goes by fast.

Evie was on her hands and knees yesterday rocking back and forth. Time to babyproof the house!

Here's to a relaxing weekend. One can hope, right?

i talked with Ashley on the phone yesterday, if the baby is a little boy, they are going to name him William Christopher Michael, continueing the tradition of two middle names that i began. William is my Daddy's name. i nearly cried. apparently she decided she liked the name William and when she mentioned it to Chris he told her it was my Daddy's name. He told her that I would like it very much. I do. Now there will be another William Renz. I am soooo happy; I wish my Daddy were here!

Argh, there's storms coming in today, and I still have to get together stuff for a koi meeting out at Lotus Land koi farms today. I've changed my mind about what food to bring to the potluck (it was cheese grits with ham-even non grits eaters liked it) so its just a fresh fruit salad with maple syrup, lime juice and cinnamon.

I'm packing my rain suit, too.

Good Morning All
Worked for 11 hours in the yard yesterday. Pulled out Azalea bushes, cut the stumps out, pulled out lots of clumpy grass stuff, my wife worked on getting the flower beds ready to plant, hauled rocks for border of the flower beds, weed eated and mowed the back yard....really sore and tired last night so we went out to eat...and practically fell asleep at the table, so home and in bed at 9:00pm....
Now for coffee and walk around the back yard..to plan.....

Enjoy it Chappy. Tomorrow's when the real pain from all of your yard work kicks in. I hate that 2 day rule myself.

My new koi fish is swimming around in our bathtub right now. I couldn't get outside to clean and sterilize the bin it will be quarantined in yesterday, due to the rain.

Morning. We skipped church today since I'm still feeling crappy. I still had a bit of a fever this morning - day 5 of it. I think I'm finally getting over it, though. Thank goodness. I don't think I could have gone back to school tomorrow feeling like I did.

Its snowing here, but I do have some greenery poking through the ground. Spring better get here quick!!

Looking at info on Williamsburg, VA. We're going there in August with my entire family.

Have a great day.

good morning all! i hiked a few miles into poway mtns to go rockclimbing yesterday, the rocks sucked. i think the fire must have changed them somehow. they were very very slick. but the hike was incredibly beautiful! the water was running and sounded so pretty. the wildflower bloom was just tremendous, color everywhere you looked! the hills were so green. it was like eye candy, you just wanted to sit and take it all in. the sun would sometimes peak out from behind the clouds and highlight it all, and the views down into the valley where a translucent fog sat were stunning

we had an injury though, young women got bounced too hard on too fast a lowering and sprained her ankle. three of us walked her down the mtn, it took more than thrice the time it should have normally. but we did get her down. she was in fairly good spirits throughout, managing laughter where you knew she wanted to cry.

he's never been that before, a moment of inattention i think. everybody is to be stupid now and then, the pity is that someone was hurt because of it. he is a medic and he took good care of her afterwards. definetly though he is feeling guilty.

Good morning, looks like a nice day outside today and not too cold. It's supposed to get into the 40's later. I didn't do much hiking over the weekend, but I hope to get out this evening for a short hike. The longer daylight hours are nice.

I miss the blooming jasmine. Confederate jasmine will grow up here, if I augment the soil. Now I really want to plant some.

My neighbor Sharis came over with green hair spray and green hair glitter. Laurel's all colorful and sparkly this morning, just in time for her spring portrait at school. >;D

I still have a koi in my bathtub, but I'll move it outside a little alter this morning. I still have to disinfect the bin it'll be residing in for the next couple of months.

What a week. 3 days of work left, right??

I found out last night at urgent care that I now have strep throat. My tonsils are so swollen that the doc gave me a steroid in addition to the antibiotic. I really haven't eaten much in the last few days because I can't swallow, and have lost 8 lbs in the last 11 days. Good times.

Baseball season is just a week old, and I'm already tired of being alone. :(

Debs and I are still figuring the back yard 'garden' out...the walkway that is. Looks like I'll go with crushed stone since stepping stones or any patterned look is what we're trying to avoid...we also bought some sun faces, about five different ones to go in the garden and on the walls. Keeps threatening rain but none yet. Today: cutting sod out of the yard for the path. Oh what fun!

I spent eight mind numbing hours listening to HIPA laws, cross contamination stuff and mission statements yesterday. I did get breakfast and a great lunch and a shamrock cookie. The best part of the day was finding about all the cool discounts I can get with my hospital badge.
Then I zipped over to HR to turn in all my papers, etc and forgot my SS card. Now I get to drive back (30 miles) today, in the rain. I hate it when I do stuff like that!

Divinity-I think Nowslimmer left after the meltdown last week.

It's very cloudy here, but no rain until tomorrow. I don't like the look of the stormline that's approaching.

Actually, I quit watching her altogether because I can't take it...plus, 30 minute meals, my ass...where are the screaming kids, barking dog, and oblivious hubby relaxing in front of the tv with a beer while she's making these meals? In real life, those meals would never get made...

You can always do a "free crust" pie, where you just fold the sides of the crust up and over. It ends up looking something like a round loaf of bread that way.
treebait
12:30:34 PM
3/18/08

yeah. I didn't try to make a crust this time. I bought one of the "roll out and put in the pan" crusts. I put one on the bottom and fitted it to the dish, then I piled in the apples, sugar, cinnamon on top with some butter and put the other crust over the top and trimmed it to fit.

My idea of a 30 minute meal includes the crying kids, obnoxious pets, time to do a load of laundry, and the oblivious husband. If it takes 30 minutes without all of that, forget it!

I had my own meltdown today. Nothing major is wrong, I'm just very, very tired. Two more days of school and then I can work all weekend to get things back under control here.

Two more days...two more days....
