Spring is coming. The hawks are coming back. Took Ab to the Ann Arbor Natural History museum yesterday and counted about 40 along the highway in about as many miles.” 6:15:58 AM 2/25/08 “40 museums, that's a bunch.” 6:19:52 AM 2/25/08 “I thought she meant 40 Abbys.” 6:27:58 AM 2/25/08 “good morning, it's still raining outside here. i used some of the tax refund to buy Steve two new feeders along with his usual 80lbs of birdseed. i bought him a finch feeder and 22lbs of thistle seed, he is so happy about all the Lesser Gold Finch that are Feeding here where he can watch them.” 6:36:29 AM 2/25/08 “sinus headache from hell....still at work...” 7:25:45 AM 2/25/08 “I have a headache too this morning. I'm pretty sure mine is from stress. Happy Monday!” 7:48:36 AM 2/25/08 “XL, put on your big girl underoo's and suck it up. You can make it through the day; I have confidence in you.” 8:05:52 AM 2/25/08 “Alright! "Big" storm blew through yesterday and the 60 mph winds they predicted never materialized. It did pour for a while. Now it's sunny and gonna get up to 60, every day this week :) Sometimes Mondays are OK...” 8:11:51 AM 2/25/08 “Well, good morning all.....been a while.....busy times here. Not much to report: nice weather, no hikes :(, church is growing :)......I'm ready to escape to the hills...soon!” 8:43:40 AM 2/25/08 “Good morning! 15F here...getting ready for work...having more trouble than usual (whatever usual is...I no longer know) swallowing this last month...hope it gets easier...” 3:05:34 AM 2/26/08 “I hope it does too Mata. The things we take for granted... Good morning. Snow here. Seems to snow on Tuesdays and Thursdays lately (the day I have a 35 mile drive before 9am). Grrrrr. Hope they found some salt this week! Enjoy your day people, just three more before Friday.” 3:50:00 AM 2/26/08 “its cooler today, rained last night....can't say I miss all that snow and slushy crap. My secretary is sick, hope she comes back today, that office without her is scary....sometimes its busy then it gets really quiet.....good thing I stay out of it as much as possible... Let's see, so far I have caught 7 mice off my back porch with a little plastic container trap, then I relocate them a block away in a brush pile but my wife wonders if they'll find their way back......maybe they like the game.....” 4:24:38 AM 2/26/08 “Good morning, snow, rain and freezing rain are on the way for today. I hope it just rains so the roads don't get bad. Matahari, I hope the eating improves. It's terrible having eating problems. Sometimes I wish my body ran on batteries just to avoid the issue entirely.” 4:59:47 AM 2/26/08 “Morning......took twice as long as normal to get home from work last night. roads were aweful. This morning it's much worse because we have a strong constant wind howling out there as well as a lot of new snow. Not a nice day outside at all!” 5:32:03 AM 2/26/08 “I hope things get better for you, Mata. It seems like I (and everyone else up here) is preoccupied with the weather lately. Today's high is alledgedly 24, but Sunday should be a whopping 42 with sunshine. I may just shuck down and lay out in the yard for a little tan. There have been 3 gray squirrels and a little cotton tail that have been taking turns dancing about in front of the picture window, just to irritate Nutmeg. It's working. It won't be long and she'll be trying to sneak outside when the door is momentarily open and someone (me) is not paying close attention. Yesterday I went for a nice walk in the woods. A bald eagle flew from it's perch in a dead poplar just as I got directly underneath. It takes a big bird awhile of ponderous wing flappin' to get up to speed and then they soar in big circles with the occasional wing beating to maintain momentum. I thought this one might return to the same tree, but after several circles he soared off. I thought it odd that a hawk flew in and perched in the very same tree before I started to walk again. Must have cleaned the room and turned on the no vacancey sign rather quickly. while walking I recall laughing that I completely forgot how much deeper the snow is in the woods (because it melts slower) as I trudged 0n through. A few weeks ago I drove by an eagle sitting in the middle of a road killed deer. Gathered about on the same carcass were a half dozen crows. The eagle, being so much larger, towered above the ravens and had the look of a preacher sermonizing his flock. I thought of Chappy and wondered if he ate road kill. Evidently not mice. Oops, here come the squirrels again:) Have a good day.” 6:22:20 AM 2/26/08 “good mornin'... I'm not sure if the lizard is improving at all (her tail is still thin) but she's potty trained! LOL...they tend to go in the same place every time, and it appears that I just happened to put a lid of calcium where she decided she wants to go...very convenient.” 6:53:43 AM 2/26/08 “twig, yep, they pick a corner LOL. It makes it easy to clean the cage.” 6:55:00 AM 2/26/08 “the hamsters do that as well, now if I'd learn to put soemthing in the chosen corner, cage cleaning would be a snap! :)” 7:01:50 AM 2/26/08 “I wonder if Chappy's read that yet, NF. Noon, all. Laurel's out of school sick, but you sure wouldn't know it, the way she's bouncing around. I feel like heck though, part from yet another cold and part from sealing up all those boards yesterday. That was tedious. Anyone heard from Stovestomper lately?” 9:02:04 AM 2/26/08 “raining and 56 in Townsed. It is suppossed to be snowing before the end of the day...” 9:05:38 AM 2/26/08 “Snow would be nice. As it is, time to go start shoveling 6 cubic yards of gardening soil around. In the mud.Ugh. Did I mention we just got .87 inches of rain this morning? And the wind is now picking up? Lol!” 9:06:54 AM 2/26/08 “Ugh. I gave up trying to sleep at 5 am. I'm having a nice bowl of real oatmeal, not the instant stuff, and a cup of coffee that's already given me a headache. Not good. I stopped eating/ drinking anything with caffeine in it for a week, thanks to the flu last week. Looks like the Smokies are getting about 8 inches of snow right now. Wish I was there, listening to the hiss of falling snow in the early morning silence.” 2:58:00 AM 2/27/08 “I went to bed cold and woke up cold. My appetite is non-existent and work is really slow so, I am staying home. It's only 2F this morning. I'm going back to bed after I drink something hot...you all have a good day!” 3:09:06 AM 2/27/08 “Dang Mata, feel better! Got any appetite for a hot toddy or something like that?” 3:10:10 AM 2/27/08 “Snowing!!!!!!!” 5:14:38 AM 2/27/08 “Good morning, we had about 2 inches of snow overnight, but at least the roads look clear. Get better soon, Matahari.” 5:19:49 AM 2/27/08 “morning, if feels like 9* outside today, and we are under a lake effect snow advisory. Looks like it's missing us though. I've got a busy day ahead. I'm taking the dog in for surgery this morning. She's looking at me like I'm a monster because she can't have food this morning.” 5:21:41 AM 2/27/08 Hugs. “Good morning. I feel much better as my foot quit hurting. A week of pain was enough. Enjoy a great day.” 5:22:09 AM 2/27/08 “Glad you are feeling better. Were you affected by that big power outtage ns? I didn't see you on yesterday.” 5:23:35 AM 2/27/08 “I hope the surgery goes well Spirit. I'll say a little prayer for your doggy. Mata, feel better. Have you ever seen those electric mattress pads? You need one so you can crank it up. Nowslimmer, glad you're feeling better. A week with pain is plenty. I left the house at 7:15 yesterday and got home at 6:45. The snow was beautiful, the hospital was hoppin' and I was pooped. Slept 10 hours. =) Now, we have sunny skies and I think I know two dogs who might like a walk. Enjoy your day all!” 6:48:20 AM 2/27/08 “NGB and I are going sledding. Still snowing here and there is plenty of it.” 6:51:08 AM 2/27/08 “Spirit Coyote - Yes, my power was off all afternoon until 6:35 P.M. I was riding my bicycle at dusk and saw some of the neighboorhood lights coming on. But, some areas of town did not lose power, so I spent the time in the pool hall, which had power. Today could bring some new problems. The temperature is dropping this morning instead of rising. Some heads at FPL should roll for those failure problems yesterday. They should start at the top, but it will be the little guys at the bottom who will suffer.” 6:59:19 AM 2/27/08 “Sass, I have an electric mattress pad...I would die without it some nights...wonderful invention! How are you doing, Spirit Coyote...loving the snow? LOL I wondered about you guys in Florida, Nowslimmer...I called my parents in Jacksonville yesterday around 4pm your time and they still had power... Have fun sledding chili and NGB...” 7:13:07 AM 2/27/08 “good mornin'! Another foot of snow today, school was delayed by two hours...our morning fun is blasting out the snow bank the town plow leaves at the end of the driveway...this morning I had my doubts, but we drove right thru it... :)” 7:51:05 AM 2/27/08 “Mornin y'all. Took the dogs for their first snowy walk together this mornin. We all enjoyed the heck out of it. Ginger the shaggy black mutt is made for winter. When we were done she had muddy little icicles danglin from her beard & undercarraige. Very cute. Also very stinky. Both need a bath soon.” 7:54:43 AM 2/27/08 “Good morning, folks. Sunny and 65 degrees is the predicted temp here in good ole Sacto, CA today. I am liking the sun in the morning now, when I walk the dog over to the local cafe for a coffee. Today may even squeeze in a bike ride after work since the sun is up until six. Spring forward is coming in a few weeks (I think) and then we will have even more daylight to play with. Yay!! It also means all the fair weather Hardly riders are starting to come to work and I have to fight for parking again. Grrrrr. Have a great day, everyone!” 7:58:42 AM 2/27/08 “Evening, all. I'm so pooooped. This working thing and having a baby at home is tough! LOL! Teaching alone is tough, now G and I are working through the exhaustion. Soon, very soon, E will learn to live without her middle of the night feeding. The teaching gig is going really, really well. I didn't realize how much I missed being in the classroom. I'm having a great time. E is doing really well at daycare. They love her there and she likes the business of it all. She's her daddy's girl, that's for sure! Here's our girl. She turns 6 months on Monday. 5:23:15 PM 2/27/08 “Good morning...I see E has her bathday face on, smiley girl... 6F...feeling much better today...managed to start eating around 10am yesterday and lying around all day helped, I'm sure...going to work...need the money!” 3:28:43 AM 2/28/08 “Amy she's a little you! =D Good morning. It's a cold one. Water main breaks everywhere. My route to the hospital is blocked. I guess it's time to try a new way. You all have a good Thursday and stay warm!” 4:09:30 AM 2/28/08 Hugs. “Good morning. 40°F. in Melbourne, Florida, this morning. Enjoy your day. last edited: 2/28/08 4:36:52 AM” 4:32:09 AM 2/28/08 “Good morning, Smiley girl your daughter looks so cute. She has beautiful eyes. It's 13 degrees outside, but at least it's not snowing, that's coming for tomorrow night. I only slept about 3 hours last night, but at least I don't feel tired.” 4:55:45 AM 2/28/08 “Morning everyone. Today is like Monday. I licked an envelope, and now I have a paper cut across my tongue. Ouch. THe weather stations around here said it would be 22 last night; they lied. My handy dandy weather equipment reported 16 degrees at 7:30 this morning. Yikes.” 6:01:56 AM 2/28/08 “what a beautiful girl, smiley... :)” 6:14:42 AM 2/28/08 “Good FRIDAY morning! Who has good plans for the weekend?” 4:41:42 AM 2/29/08 “Morning all.........beans and cornbread for our Lenten Dinner last night......then choir practice after..........what's wrong with this picture? This morning is particularly noisy........especially with the Starbucks added to the mix............... Get to go work the Livestock Show and Rodeo tomorrow. Several of our kids are showing animals and the proud parents want to make sure Pastor Jeff is doting on them...lol.” 4:43:26 AM 2/29/08 “Good morning, 7 degrees out this morning and 2 to 4 inches of snow might fall tonight. I'm heading out to the dentist this morning. Not one of favorite places to go, but it's only for a check up and cleaning.” 5:03:40 AM 2/29/08 Hugs. “Good morning. Have a great weekend.” 5:15:15 AM 2/29/08 “Oops, a dublicate! Wireless is so slow this morning at the Resource Cafe, that I probably could have posted many more copies for the price of one. Must be the weather. But, I don't remember seeing any snow on the ground, while I bicycled over here. last edited: 2/29/08 5:22:41 AM” 5:15:17 AM 2/29/08 “We got maybe an inch of snow last night, but it never got colder than 20. That's a hopeful sign. Heading back to Eagle River around mid-day to pick up the support beam so my upstairs won't become the downstairs. It should be installed by dark tomorrow. Smiley, great picture of your daughter. Not only is she beautiful, she projects a very fun loving personality. Everyone have a great weekend.” 5:25:53 AM 2/29/08 “When I was leaving Knoxville yesterday at about 5:30 PM the sun was angled just right to reflect off of the snow and from Pellissippi Parkway, I could see everthing from LeConte to Thunderhead. It was an awesome view with nothing but snow visible above 4000'. This morning the view was nearly as specacular with the sunlight coming from behind the mountains. However, it's still a great day. Supposed to be in the 50's in the Valley today.” 5:26:55 AM 2/29/08 Jump to Page << prev
