I made a pretty good beef stew yesterday; we didn't eat it last night because its one of those things that tastes better after it sits a day or two and simmers into oblivion. THe base is a 80/20 mix of rich beef stock and 3 blind moose merlot, plus fresh bay leaves and thyme, then simmered down 50%. Yummy. The metal roof is likely grounded and can easily attract lightning. Lightning frequently sends out lots of spurs and one spur could overheat your coffee.
