HMMMmmmm.   Never tried a Grape Nehi float before.... but I have been known to drop a large chunk of chocolate ice cream into a glass of that Frostie Root Beer (when I can find it).

Speaking of evil things like that, I was thinking of those 15-second microwaved s'mores last night.   Those are pure evil, I'm tellin' ya.

Haha...double bonus, treebait!

Southern Comfort and...something that I forget tastes just like cream soda and is very yummy. Which really surprised me, since I generally hate SoCo with a passion. Too bad I can't remember the other ingredient!

There's a great Cuban restaurant HPM and I used to go to in Jacksonville FL that had some really good sipping tequila. Wish I could remember what kind it was.

I decided not to post until I had at least a sip of coffee...

-19 below...that's a bit chilly in my world...

Work is really slowing down...we have something called "labor pool"...workers who chose this get no benefits, can pretty much work the hours they want but have the disadvantage of being the first called when the workload is low...since our regular shifts are 12 1/4 hours a day, many prefer labor pool...well, all of them were told not to report to work...serious slowdown...

Anyway, I chose to not work for a couple of days, I often do when it's slow, but today will be a workday...

If my car starts....

Have a good day, everyone...

Good morning.

It's 64°F. here in Florida this morning and headed to 75°F. today. Early fogs and 30% chance of showers after 8 A.M.

The snowbirds are all over the place. You can spot them by their runny noses.

Have a great day.

Sick again, hocking up a gooey lung. Laurel's already getting better, so there's hope for the weekend. I primarily just feel like I need more sleep.

We have a drizzly day here. I wish it would just rain already. However, I need the mud to dry a bit so we can finish the koi pond this weekend.

Good morning!

Today will consist of one hour of work, making caupcakes galore for the kiddo's SEVENTH birthday tomorrow (where did the time go?!), and studying. Maybe a pot of tomato soup in there somewhere.

Nowslimmer my folks are down there for their first winter. My mom keeps calling to complain about how cold it has been down there! Can't you turn up the heat? ;)

Treebait, all of kindergarten and about the first half of first grade was spent sick with various colds here. Seems like Ab has finally built up some sort of immunity and learned to keep her hands out of her mouth and eyes. It gets frustrating. Hang in there and feel better fast.

What this? She wants everything! There's no snow!

There's also all of Latin America and Central America available for tourists.
It's warm in Puerto Rico.

And why me? Tell you Father to turn up the heat!

Morning!

I've been absent from the computer for a while, hoping to get mine fixed soon. G's is just too darned slow for me to be on it a lot. And I've been REALLY busy with tutoring and running around like a chicken without a head. Glad I don't have much planned for today, except waiting for the heating guy to show up. Pump on the hot water heat is leaking.

What have I missed? Lyra still preggers? What kind of trouble has Tilt gotten into? Everyone still friends here????

-25F. Coffee is great and the woodstove is cranked up to a roar. Propane is $2/gal, so burning wood is a lifesaver. I have only burned about half of what's by the house and there's still 3 full cords in the driveway, 2 in the garage, 3-4 in the pole barn and half a load yet in the truck. Looks like I'm good.

Yesterday I made some suet from bacon grease and bird seed. I hope the fat will keep some of the small critters warm:)

My mom stubbornly continues to walk to the convenience store despite the weather. Yesterday she was okay until she got to the portion of the sidewalk that had not been maintained. Since she was in sight of the store, she continued on and, predictably, fell. Tired from the walk, she fell and couldn't get up. A guy on a bicycle stopped to help and still she wouldn't budge. He flagged down a motorist and together they got her up. She continued to the store, got what she needed and walked home. Naturally I live 300 miles north and can't be of any immediate help. I think she chooses to behave stupidly just for the attention she can garner...it's not exactly new behavior.

I'm not digging down any more, I just shaping it now. We had it all nice and formed, and then it froze and heaved, and made a total mess. Add to that rain and my neighbor's great dane gallivanting through it yesterday morning, and its a mess.

I know what you mean Sass, Austin turned 7 on the 4th, his "friends" party at the dojo is this Saturday. He lost a bottom tooth last week, and a top front one yesterday - they grow up so fast!

Ariana will be 9 next month.

The kids teachers ask for disinfecting wipes and uses them a lot on the kids desks and around the classroom. We send in one of the big containers. It must help as the kids haven't had a cold yet.

We had to send in 3 containers of antibacterial wipes, lots of hand soap and such, at the beginning of the school year. They didn't want hand sanitizer sent in, though. I've already sent in extra Lysol spray (works on MRSA, which showed up at the school.) The teacher prefers "wild berry" scent. For Lysol, it doesn't smell half bad. Thanks to Laurel's continuous colds through October to December, I've sent in more kleenex too. I don't send in the anti-viral kind though, since it contains soap ingredients as well as citric acid and burns Laurel's nose.

Good morning.

Holy Toledo. It's 46°F. in Toledo, Spain. That makes me feel a little warmer here in Melbourne, Florida, where it is 53°F. and only going to a high of 66°F. today.

My ex- should feel good about returning to the Rep. of Panama today, where it is 78.9 °F. and going to 84° F. today.

Are you wearing your smile again today, mapleleaf? Everything looks better through a smile.

Have a great weekend.

We're still in the dark up here:) Only -3 this morning; much better than yesterday. Melanie, Les and Freckles will be here this evening. Melanie is just finishing her first week of student teaching. She's very impressed with how the faculty and admin staff are making certain she gets the best opportunity. I should get paid todayfor that month of work I did on that cabin construction, mid December thru mid January.

Hope all the kids are feeling better and the parents are getting some rest. I remember those days. When you're single, there's no rolling over and saying "Honey, it's your turn".
