Thanks, for now the doctor only wants me to eat pureed foods and liquids to give it more time to heal and avoid stressing it too much. That's okay and made sense to me for the next couple of weeks.

Good Morning! I am slightly hung over and not looking forward to working this morning. Have a full schedule. Blah.

Got one of those really cool salt lamps from the Good Doctor last night and a big fat Christmas bonus check. It's pretty nice to work for someone who appreciates you. =) And who has good taste.

You guys have a great Saturday. Cross your fingers and hope we get the full 5 inches of snow the weatherguys say are possible today.

Good morning, The party sounds like it was a fun time, CG. We have a storm coming tonight that's supposed to drop 2 to 6 inches of snow, but freezing rain and sleet too. Sounds like it'll be a mess. I'm going to go for a short hike later. It still looks nice outside, but cold, 18 degrees.

Minus 7....nippy...

I slept very poorly the night before which was the day I had to be to work by 4am...after working 10 1/2 hours I came home too tired to eat...just took a very hot bath and crawled into bed...I think I was asleep before 6pm...

So, I figure I better eat well today since I feel much better...Bailey-laced cappuccino, 3 cheese and bacon stuffed omelet and my ever present Scandi-shake should start putting some of those calories back...

I am devoting some time to reading Phil's entire blog...I didn't know it existed until after he died...it's a tough read...I sent out daily reports to friends, family and work during my treatment...that was before blogs...it helped me a lot to write...I wish I had kept copies...reading Phil's blog brings back memories...pneumonia kills many of us before the cancer does...he was just so damn young!

Good morning TT land,

Still a ways to sunrise here, but there is some winter. 21F, snow depth 3-4 inches, roads are clear. Finally enough snow in the mountains to ski, the nordic trails are getting groomed. It is about time. I'm getting fat and grumpy in this in-between season. Pathman needs to get outside.

Just found out HPM's family, who not only invited themselves up on Tuesday, are staying through the 30th. HPM is lucky I don't own a gun, and that boy owes me big time. Now I'll have the whole #&%!$ing clan (from both sides) up here for Christmas, when I was hoping and praying it would just be us, nice and cozy. Nope, no #&%!$ing way do I get my wish. Guess I need to move to somewhere out in Idaho, with no forwarding address.

How Mata saved the world
I had a gruesome nightmare last night and thought I'd share it with everyone:) It seems that MH was visiting my place. It was a pleasant visit and she, I and a few incidental others were happily chatting in the kitchen, planning on cooking a little snack. In this kitchen I had a huge, man-size microwave which, for some reason, had the door latch and all the controls on the inside. MH said something like "I know what would be a good snack" and climbed into the microwave, closed and latched the door and turned it on high with a timing of "indefinite". We all thought it just a joke, but soon she started to sputter and pop and we quickly went into panic mode. No one could figure a way into the machine and none of us had our wits about sufficiently to simply unplug it. MH seemed to handle it pretty well, gesturing and cackling at those of us who were most visibly upset, as she continued to merrily cook away. Fortunately for those of us on the outside of the microwave, her eyeballs soon exploded, splattering across the screen and rendering it pretty much opaque...in a red and gooey sort of way. Eventually someone finally remembered to unplug the power, which released the door latch and we were finally able to rescue the poor lady, but a little too late. Alas, MH now bore more of a resemblance to a somewhat overcooked turkey replete with a topping of bright red hair, that had been nibbled on for a couple of days. What were we to do?

It occured to some that the legal authorities should be summoned, but since this was all on my property, I deferred, not wanting to deal with the huge and cumbersome Trego bureacraucy (sp). As we plotted our strategy, we began to eat some brownies that had been mailed to me by Lyra and magically soon a plot began to evolve. It seemed that George Bush was visiting Trego that very day, with the idea of stimulating further development to encourage more of our southern friends from Illinois to move on up. Evidently there was a strong spiritual component to the brownies, because we came up with the idea of dressing up the old turkey, errr...MH, with some potatoes, carrots, rutabagas, stuffing, cranberries and gravy and serving it all to the president at the town hall potluck dinner that very evening.

It was a northwoods redneck gala affair, people arriving from all over in snowmobiles, ATV's, tractors and old pickup trucks. The town had gone all out for this event, so much good food, dishes of bear, venison, possum, beaver, that we scarcely thought the President would choose our hastily thrown together humble offering. Evidently it was her blaze orange hair that stood out amongst all those other culinary masterpieces and George heaped his plate with a big slice of Mata and all the trimmings. Soon he was happily gorging himself, Prosecutor and Sarge kneeling under his table on either side of him, banging heads as they fought for an opening. Just as George finished eating and as he was being introduced to give his speech, he started to rise from his chair, got a different sort of goofy look on his face, and flopped over dead. Lying there, he had drool and foam emitting from his mouth, along with little telltale strands of red hair. The secret service quickly grabbed Prosecutor and Sarge, hustling them away for all eternity and everyone lived happily ever after. Mata was later knighted posthumously by the Queen of England and Lyra was given some sort of bull#&%!$ baking award by Betty Crocker. And that's how Mataharihiker saved the world and tt land...just in time for Christmas.

Oh, the day and the well just got better. NOT. The town is jackhammering and pulling up all the curbs in our neighborhood starting today, and repouring them tomorrow. Then we aren't allowed to drive over the #&%!$ers for the next three days. SO now we all have to park out in the road, us plus the in-laws and their big van, and the POS trailer they plan on bringing. I'll have to park in front of the neighbors house or something. This really sucks.

Afternoon, Stovie.

Got at least 6" yesterday, blizzard conditions on the way home from church. Good times. Bright and sunny today, but all the schools in mid-Michigan called a snow day. Its been nice to have G home today.

Our neighbor had a stroke last night and we woke up to sirens this morning. Not a good start to the day. I don't know how he is, really. We thought it was the end for him, he's into his 90's and has had declining health for the last year. I found him on his front porch about a month ago. He went to get the mail and fell off the step to the porch.

Took Evie to see Santa today. Here's the proof we're good parents. :)
