But I love coca cola (or pepsi). RichB always amazes me with his ingenuity. I put medications crushed up into PEG and NG tubes and that is a little gunky so any powdered or pureed food should work just as well, as long as you flush the tube well afterwords. A lot of patients put Ensure (or substitute)into their tubes as a supplement, even if they are able to eat some food. It is really important not to get too thin and malnourished because it is hard to recover from. Some of my patients get lots of vitamins that I crush up and put into the tube every day in addition to their expensive liquid food. Vitamin C 500mg and Zinc 50 mg, folic acid 1 mg and iron are the most common. I don't mix the iron and zinc even if the computer says give them at the same time. They cancel each other, don't absorb well. Better to take them at diff times of the day. Have to go get coffee and do errands. Hope everyone has a great day!” 5:12:01 AM 11/07/07 “Good morning. Got back from the Vikings/Chargers football game Monday afternoon. What an ideal game for a first time spectator! Adrian Peterson running for 296 yards, Cromartie from San Diego running a field goal attempt back for 109 yards...both NFL records and, of course, my team winning. I dropped my son at the airport Monday afternoon and drove leisurely up through the countryside of western Wisconsin, thru a little sunshine, a little snow and a lot of cold, stopping at Turtle Lake to win $150 at the casino. It took about 5 minutes and I walked out with it all:) The bad news? When I opened the jeep door after the game, the smell of tobacco smoke came rolling out at me. Neither my son or I smoke. I felt like Goldilocks...someone's been sleeping in my jeep...Joe checked his luggage and all that seemed to be missing was a pair of jeans. Good news. Tuesday I sat down to pay some bills and started looking for my checkbook. No where around (bad news). I quickly realized that the thieves had absconded with it, along with my leather jacket. I called the bank and they closed my account and opened a new one for me. The good news: I lost no money. Moral of the story is that if you want to be a successful thief, stop smoking. As a side note, I never lock my house or vehicles at home, but did so at the game. unfortunately I neglected to lock the rear passenger door. Pretty lucky, really, they didn't destroy or trash anything, pausing only long enough to smoke a cigarette. I managed to get the wood stove to burn all night, but for a 3:00 o'clock "feeding" (with respect to Smiley Girl). They've been so cool with their tunnel making that I've let them build it up - too high apparently.
