Nimblefoot-about your book story-

Good morning...I'm a bit concerned as I dropped below 110 lbs yesterday...felt crummy all day...I'm glad that today I felt better waking up than I did yesterday...work is stressful and the chemicals are getting to me after all the fresh air I've been breathing on my 2 week vacation...

Began my morning by walking out to the birdfeeder carrying a big, halogen light and a foghorn...the raccoon on the ground ran but the one on the birdfeeder had a foghorn blast or two, then got bopped on the tail with the heavy light, then got his tail pulled...I stepped away and he more or less fell off the birdfeeder and took off into the woods...time to load up the livetrap again...

isn't life fun! thank God for coffee

Here's lookin' at ya Mata (slurp).

It actually got cold enough in the house that I "almost" turned the heat on. My wood stove (yes, the one that's been pending since 17 January) is to be hooked up on Saturday. I wonder if it had anything to do with me driving to Shell Lake and talking to the Sheriff...? His wife wrote the series of articles about my hike in the county paper. First time in my live I ever knew someone who almost has influence. My social status and clout are absolutely soaring.

NF, Nursing is still in the back of my mind but I have to keep my continuing ed up to keep my National Certification. I think it's 40 hours in 4 years. I'm 2 years in and have 22 hours that don't count because I took them prior to getting my test results. This program will give me 100 hours. I don't want to take that certification test ever again! And there is nowa three year wait for nursing programs so I'm going to have to be patient or go to another state.

Yup, there was a 2 year wait when I retired in '92. That's one reason I ended up an Optician.

Sass, I still think you'd be an awesome labor and delivery nurse!

I'm feeling much better today, thank goodness! I still can't take a very deep breath or yawn without pain, but at least I'm up and moving around. That's always a good thing!

It got pretty cold in our house last night. Our bedrooms are above the crawlspace, so it gets just a bit chilly! Thinking about turning the heat on tonight if its cold. Evie's cheeks and hands (she's like Houdini getting them out of a swaddle!) were pretty cold when I got her this morning.

The first time the first one sleeps through the night you wind up waking the next morning scared to death that something is wrong. My baby turned 1 last weekend and I'm already forgetting all the little noises. Me does a mean little, "ride a little horsey..." though. SHe loves the "all fall down," part.

I'm up, showered, still feeling sick, but once I get caffeine and lots of echinacea and zinc in me I feel better. No coughing or sneezing though, just congestion and a serious Lauren Bacall voice though, which HPM just loves. Noe I need to get Laurel up, so we can go have a little fun in and near the Smokies. I need to talk to a gallery owner about "representing," and Laurel gets to run around a few trails.

Morning...55F out right now which is a lot warmer than yesterdays 33F at this time...

Actually felt quite well at work yesterday...since I've lost weight again I've put myself on Scandishakes 3X a day..expensive but, at 600 calories each, it should do the trick...my goal is 120 pounds...

Have a good day!

Scandishakes, because their Scandinavian, scandalous or both?

The wood splitting is going very well, but my back suggests a day off. There's a flock of wild turkeys that seems to take a certain route at a certain time across my field most every day. Maybe I'll find a place to wait for them.

Good morning. It's coooold here. Glad I shut most of the windows last night. But, we have a lovely 72° high coming so I guess I'll warm up. Thick and Rough oatmeal for breakfast. Sounds kind of dirty doesn't it? lol.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Matahari, I hope you can gain some weight using those shakes. I'm going to start trying to gain some weight and need to gain about ten pounds myself, even 5 would be an improvement.
Sass, thick and rough oatmeal sounds like the old fashioned variety.

Today royally sucked. I'm so effing glad to be home. Being effing stranded in Cherokee with a 5 year old and waiting for a tow truck sucks rocks. I'll post more about it tomorrow, but from now on I only trust MY Subaru. Not HPM's Subaru.

Treebait did you at least make it to the gallery and get to make your proposal? Feel better fast.

I drew up plans for the gianormus garden they want me to create at Abby's school. Going to try and present them this morning. Cross your fingers and hope that both the principal and building head like them, or at least some part of them, and I don't have to start totally over.
Not feeling like my back is getting any better. Starting to wonder if maybe my chiropractor didn't crack a rib. =( But, IT'S FRIDAY! WHOOT!!

I don't know why I took HPM's car instead of my own. This was its first trip up 441 through the park, from Cherokee over to the Gatlinburg side. I was enjoying the new pavement on the road, actually going only 45, and had all the windows open. Laurel and I smelled something burning, kind of a rubber smell. I looked in the mirror and there's twin clouds of bluish smoke coming from behind the car. Now with my car, the only serious issue I've had is a fuel line splitting, so I was afraid it was something like that. I pulled off the road at a parking area, and got Laurel out pronto. She was running around in the grass chasing butterflies while I was crawling around trying to find the source of the smoke. It was the rear differential, completely covered in oil, and the oil splattered all over the exhaust system. I loaded Laurel back in, and we turned around and went back to Cherokee where I pulled into the welcome center parking lot next to the Tribal Grounds coffee house. Good coffee and food there by the way.
I called the Subaru hotline, talked to them, spent 20 minutes waiting for my location to be found on an effing mapping system, then waited about 80 minutes for a tow truck from
Sylva (nice guy) to tow me to the Subaru dealer in Asheville. The mechanics looked, and looked, and poked around. THe only thing they could figure was that the differential was overfilled at the factory, and the excess blew put the differential vent while on an incline. I just headed home after that. Yesterday was a teacher planning day, so this was a special treat trip for Laurel and I. Not. I didn't et home until after 6 yesterday evening. We'd been gone since 7 am too.

Treebait, my mom's fine. She had another esophogus spasm the other day. She thinks she doesn't chew her food good enough. I'm doing much better. The clutter around the house is bugging me, so that's a sign I'm healing. :) The hormones have kicked in, I should buy stock in Kleenex. Thanks for asking. :)

Another weekend, G's parents around again. My mom is leaving in the morning. We'll hit the farmer's market in the morning for some fresh veggies. Who knows what else is planned for the day. Hopefully a nap!

SG, your mom could have esophageal stricture. If so, it has nothing to do with chewing your food. I've had it for a few years and it's not fun. Soon as I get the hospital paid off for the back surgery, I'm going to get it taken care of...a procedure similar to angioplasty.

Morning! Bridal shower today. [Sarcasm] oh boy! [/sarcasm] I'll be glad when it's over and done. I love my friend but this whole throw a shower thing isn't as much fun as one might think. And it is becoming quite pricey. I also get a brides maid dress today that I ordered at the height of summer, (7 pounds lighter). I have a feeling I'm going to be dieting soon. Very difficult for me to restrain myself when the weather starts to get cold. I feel the need to fatten up for winter or something. Of course baked goods are my favored method.

Speaking of Winter coming, it's a high of 59° today! Thankfully the sun is shining for the moment.

SG, I'll give you a call re a visit next week. It'd probably cost less to drive to Frankenmuth than mailing Evie's present. Plus I haven't held a new baby in six years! You do let people hold her right? If not I won't come! (don't cry, just joking);)
