Wow kids, its been quite a day (and weekend here). Nothing related to baby, of course. :(

VERY long story short, I screamed at my FIL yesterday for being a first class jerk, wouldn't let him back into my house nor would I speak to him on the phone. We reconciled (at least for now) this morning. Its a seriously long story.

Pastor came to visit us today, we've been attending that church for several months (probably close to a year) and he just wanted to get to know us better. He brings me the phone # of the HS principal, there is an open job, and apparently I"m highly recommended by his wife who teaches there. So, I'm chasing that down right now.

Nothing like waiting for a baby to arrive, and applying for a new job. Since I've met G, nothing in my life is simple. The more complicated, the more likely we are to do it. LOL!

Sass, I'll be calling you to double check how to use those pressure points! I really want this kid to come out! LOL!

Where are all of you fine people? I've been up since about 5AM, saw part of the eclipse. Cool.

G had to report to school today, poor guy. He's hoping I start contracting about noon, and he can skip the rest of the in-service stuff. This morning is their union meeting, he wants to be there for that much.

Hot today, so I'll stay inside. Going to be cooler the rest of the week, though!

GET UP!!

I was up at 5:30, but forgot about the eclipse. I heard on TV that it would be a partial eclipse around here. It's going to be hot here too for the next few days, but at least the weekend is looking just right and the mornings are cool now.

Dangit! I even had the calendar marked. It was perfectly clear too. Rats. Maybe Birch saw some of it.

I know Tilt, laugh it up. My body hasn't hurt so badly in ages. I am more than ready for this work to be done.

Smiley Girl, I sympathize with you. FIL's can be total @sses. Once the granddaughter arrives he won't be allowed to utter a peep at you. Gramma will put the smack down on him for fear of losing grandkid privileges.

Good morning. We enjoyed a nice rain last night with lots of thunder and lightning. My son and I fished yesterday morning and then did a 400 mile road trip along the North Shore of Lake Superior, up to Grand Marais and back. Good quality sleep last night. Good quality dreams. I dreamt of all the people I worked with in the Delivery Room in Japan some 43 years ago. Could that be the omen we're waiting for, SG?

Joe goes back tomorrow and I don't know what's planned for today. It was a good visit, but now it's time to get back to the routine and prepare for winter. As I drove along the coast, I kept seeing those little signs for the Superior Hiking Trail. There must be water in some of those streams so I can get out for a few days. Maybe it's time to visit their website again.

Good Morning! It's gonna be HOT here today. And I have lots of work today. It always works out that the days I'm most sore and tired I get to work on 7 clients.

The kitchen tile is done. Now we're just waiting on veneer to come in for the trim to go up.

Took the kidlet back to school shopping yesterday. Holy Cow does that little girl love to shop! Don't know where she gets that.

Good morning. It's time for my son to head back to Virginia. It was a nice visit and he did everything on his wish list, floating down the river, fishing, a short trip to the Casino (yes, that one, Nowslimmer) and drinking some beer around a few campfires. I think he really enjoyed the opportunity to do these things and take pictures of the activity with his cell phone and send it directly to his friends at work. Nothing like rubbing it in, lol.

It's back to work for me. Gotta get a strut welded on the deck of the lawn tractor, resume my firewood gathering activity, clean and organize the garage, etc, etc. Peace to all.

Good morning, It's supposed to be a nice day today, but humid. I went hiking last evening and came across a chicken mushroom growing on a stump. I've read that they are supposed to taste like chicken, but I don't know of anyone that has tried them.

Yay, Laurel's at her first day of school!

My only concern is that she gets short-shrifted by the school system. Some of the potential K teachers act like they're just there to pull a paycheck.

New state law in MI is that school doesn't start until after Labor Day. Teachers reported back yesterday at most schools.

My cousin was offered several jobs in the southland. They are few and far between in MI, so many teachers are moving out. What a crappy time to be a teacher here!

The tourist industry wants to get the state of PA. to start school after Labor Day because they said they could be making more money. So far that idea is going nowhere because the districts want enough time for snow days and teacher strikes. I think we have more teacher strikes than anywhere.

none. the girl is outfitted well enough and i'm making her use the same backpack as last year, as theres absolutely nothing wrong w/ it.

RichB, State of Mich. made it illegal for teachers and bus drivers, any municipal employees for that matter, to strike. Now all they can do is pout and sue. MEA is bringing suit to have air conditioners installed in every classroom state wide. Apparently the two weeks of hot temps are too much. It's fun to listen to them gripe about it when I worked in the same buildings all summer long, (except generally I got to be in 100% humidity too).

Sass, I'm certainly not going to argue your point with you. I am enough of a wuss to complain about those conditions for one day...
