Great news! I am so pleased for you...have your teeth gone into shock at having to do something...LOL Stayed home from work today...need rest so the nasty pneumonia symptoms stay away... Still, gotta go release the raccoon in my live trap...time to visit Minnesota again! That makes 2 in 3 days...trapped raccoons, that is... have a great day, everyone...mine looks like it'll be in a hammock with a good book...” 6:04:50 AM 8/10/07 “That's good news, RichB! Well, another day of the same thing here. Kitchen is *nearly* put back together. Its so nice to use real glasses and silverware again! Humidy is supposed to go down today, high of 82. I might actually venture outside. :)” 6:25:39 AM 8/10/07 “Thanks, So far my teeth are feeling fine, but I won't be surprised if my jaw is a little sore tomorrow from having to chew food. I'll have to keep going back for more esophagus dilations until it stays open for good. The next one is scheduled in 3 weeks. Last time, it only stayed open for two weeks. Now that my artery problem is fixed, I shouldn't have to go back to a liquid diet again unless something goes terribly wrong. That problem delayed me from having any dilations so I'm glad that's out the way. I just harvested some veggies from my garden and I'm getting to eat them normally now so the timing of this was just right. I hope some rest cures your pneumonia, Matahari.” 6:50:28 AM 8/10/07 “Rich, I'm eating a steak and some garden vegetables tonight. Somewhere in the course of the meal, I'll think of you and be a little happier. Mata - get weller.” 7:00:50 AM 8/10/07 “Thanks Nimblefoot, you can't beat homegrown food.” 7:37:05 AM 8/10/07 “At the moment I'm trying to talk my daughter into letting me get some animals - cattle, sheep, etc next year. Some for food, some for their wool. She's afraid that she'll get attached to them and if they're slaughtered won't be able to handle it. I'm more worried about her boyfriend getting attached to them...joke?” 7:42:11 AM 8/10/07 “That's cool and I'd have to think having farm animals would require a lot of time to care for them. I remember the guy living next to us when I was a kid had a chicken coop and he used to get eggs and meat from them. He had a huge garden too. He raised most of his own food.” 7:52:55 AM 8/10/07 “better the animals that her?” 7:54:12 AM 8/10/07 “Rich..I'm so happy for you!!! Big Huge Huggies!!! Mata...some huggies for you too!! My baby turns 17 tomorrow! Geeez Louise where does time go? Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm looking forward to a nothing weekend..OH...I am hiking up around Black Balsam Sunday! Yippee!!!” 8:03:28 AM 8/10/07 “17 and still a baby? Cut the cord woman! :)” 8:11:46 AM 8/10/07 “50 degrees, feels like 48 here. It's a scorcher out there, not a cloud in the sky! Beautiful day. 'Mornin all :)” 9:11:22 AM 8/10/07 “RichB - Thanks for your great news. Hope you get better, better and better.” 9:53:33 AM 8/10/07 Hugs. “Good morning. First time in three weeks I've waken outside of a hospital or motel room. But it is still not perfect. I'm at my daughter's place. I prefer to be at my place or in GSMNP.” 4:40:07 AM 8/11/07 “Good Morning!!!!! a hot & steamy day!!!..I sure wish I had a pool!!!! I have to work today.....just for a few hours....BUT tomorrow I work from 6:30am to 8pm ( with a 2 hour break in there somewhere!!).. and then Monday back to regular hours!!! ..I know ya'll will miss my posts tomorrow!!!!..but it's ok... don't fret...I'll see ya'll Monday afternoon!!!!!” 5:04:57 AM 8/11/07 “Sounds like things are almost back to normal, NS” 5:08:26 AM 8/11/07 “...define normal.....” 5:09:34 AM 8/11/07 “Good morning Boys & Girls. It's saturday so I'm off to drop some urbanites in the river. This will be from a new location, Pappy's Bar, since I quit at the Log Cabin. This is a different section of the river, but it is the one I most commonly float. I put some little squares of carpet remanents underneath my cantalopes yesterday. There are at least 25 in that little patch, so my menu will soon take new turn. Have a good day.” 5:26:11 AM 8/11/07 “Good morning, I'm off to go fishing soon. It's a beautiful day outside and the whole weekend looks great for doing anything outside. NS, glad to hear you are feeling better.” 5:38:54 AM 8/11/07 “oh my...yesterday was miserable as far as temp goes...and seems like another hot steamy one today... ..I stepped outside a few min ago and it is already VERY hot out!!!!! ..the heat index right now is 100...@ 5am!!!!it is so humid out that it is foggy!!! ...yes..I have to work ...ALL day...ALL day...but back to normal hours Monday...wooohooooo!!!!!! ...ya'll have a great day and stay cool...I sure wish I had a pool!!!!” 3:06:17 AM 8/12/07 “Put in 10.5 hours shuttling fools yesterday. One group was 3 attorneys, a police chief and their wives; screwing with their heads was most enjoyable. One guy was wearing his army fatigues in 100 degree weather, hmmm... These are the kind of people who are used to instantly getting what they want. Watching their collective faces as I uttered the word "no" was priceless. I wonder where on the river they are? Today I simply must remember to find them:)” 4:54:41 AM 8/12/07 Hugs. “Good morning. "I stepped outside a few min ago ...I sure wish I had a pool!!!!”I sure wish I could step outside, easily! Divinity, I keep inviting you down here to Florida! There is a nice, large, swimming pool within 15 feet behind my daughter's condo. Today's Message: Credibility can be so easily destroyed! Enjoy your weekend.” 6:15:09 AM 8/12/07 “Credibility seems to be more external; self respect is internal. I'll choose the latter.” 6:54:08 AM 8/12/07 “My self respect is so high, I'd need a "latter" to reach it! LOL! 'Mornin, y'all!” 7:26:06 AM 8/12/07 “Divinity...hot here in north AL also. Every other day my "POOL" gets a little green from the terrible heat and humidity. The water is almost too warm to swim in. I'm cleaning the pool every other day to keep it clean...dang this hot weather! My shrubs are again turning a little yellow...time to start watering again. No chance of rain in sight for the next week!” 8:32:13 AM 8/12/07 “Morning. We had a little rain here this morning. Had some friends here from Scotland, who are tired of the rain back home, and are enjoying the heat and humidity (crazy folks!). They were astonished that we were thanking God in church for the much needed rain - they've had their fill of it back home! Nap time now, grocery store later. Kitchen is put back together, and the baby's room is more or less ready to go. Just some odds and ends in both places to take care of. I'm ready to have a baby now, whenever that will be!” 9:47:06 AM 8/12/07 “Cool SG! We're getting there. S L o W l Y. Good morning everyone. Lots to do and I'm not sure where to start. I guess the first matter should be making my coffee. Maybe after a few sips the day will become clearer. Have a good one! BTW, it's 63° right now, a/c is OFF and it's just lovely listening to the birds. last edited: 8/13/07 5:08:38 AM” 5:07:53 AM 8/13/07 “I cranked out 10.5 hours Saturday and 9.5 Sunday at my new canoe shuttle job. $2.00/hr payraise and all cash. They were giving away margaritas after I got off work, so I stuck around and inhaled a couple. Headed back in a couple of hours for day three. This place is lots of fun.” 5:11:30 AM 8/13/07 “Morning. BEAUTIFUL day here! Sunny, high of 82, very low humidity. We have the doors and windows open for the first time in a long time! Its fantastic! Cleaning up some odds and ends around the house, and tonight I'm going to a local Jaycees meeting. I want to join a civic organization, this one is full of young folks. Have a good one, folks!” 5:17:46 AM 8/13/07 Hugs. “Good morning.” 5:26:22 AM 8/13/07 “When the heat wave is over we'll have had about 10 consecutive days with highs at or over 100°. Friday the high is forecast at 99°, yeah, the heat wave is almost over. They're digging the pool today on the house. Yippie. I'm about 30 days out before moving day.” 5:28:35 AM 8/13/07 “Ahhh, moving day. I never intend to have another one until they put me in the box or the urn. At that time, some one else can do the work:)” 6:02:12 AM 8/13/07 Hugs. “Good morning.” 3:20:10 AM 8/14/07 “I'm up, showered, coffee'd and headed for my Alley Cats gig. I've really need to make myself deal with this job. When you have to make yourself go there, it's not a place to be. The past 3 days at Pappy's Bar Canoe Shuttle were a good combo of lots of work and fun. Unfortunately the season is winding down... My plan is to take some of my ill gotten summer financial gains and get started on some home improvement projects in the winter. I've been here long enough that a sense of what to do and how to do it is starting to develop. Have the day of your choosing:)” 3:58:30 AM 8/14/07 “Cooled down to 82 last night. Up at 4 am today.” 4:27:16 AM 8/14/07 “Good morning. Thunderstorms today. We can use some rain, I hope they make it. The temps are still nice enough to keep the windows open. Last night was cool enough to make me wish another blanket was on the bed. I get to load my kitchen cabinets today! WOOT! That means my living room will be free of about nine huge boxes. Then we'll just have to get the fridge and dish washer out of there and things will be back to normal.” 4:44:59 AM 8/14/07 “Congrats and what a quick process. Sounds like birch deserves a bonus!” 5:41:48 AM 8/14/07 “Well, it looks like the heat is breaking a bit...atleast we aren't in the 90's so far. The humidity didn't slap me in the face when I took the dog out this morning. I hope you all have great days! D.” 6:08:51 AM 8/14/07 “That's the advantage of taking out dogs' you seldom get slapped in the face:)” 6:13:25 AM 8/14/07 “Morning. I'm simply exhausted today. I slept 9 hours, and had a nap yesterday. You'd think I was growing a child in my body or something. Not much planned today. Good day to be lazy. Again.” 6:31:50 AM 8/14/07 “Smiley my youngest was born in August...I swear my body temp rose 20 degrees that summer and I didn't sleep at all. at night and wanted to sleep all day...I was exhausted the last month! Just rest and prepare...you will need it soon :-)” 7:03:51 AM 8/14/07 Hugs. “Good morning.” 3:59:36 AM 8/15/07 “Hottest day of the year forecast today, 104°.” 4:27:24 AM 8/15/07 “I'll repost from the kids thread: Yesterday Reece was really good at school and his teacher gave him a Reese cup. I think this is how the story started.....He commented that his friends Eric and Trae would be good as well so that they could get an Eric cup and a Trae cup. Emma was really good at school yesterday and she asked her teacher, "Aren't you proud of me for being so good for you today?" Last night was PTA and her teacher told my wife that she looked forward to having Emma in her class and they would have fun, but that Emma sure is a "Social Butterfly." Tell me about it!” 4:33:52 AM 8/15/07 “Morning! The kiddo spent the night with Gramma and papa last night. It's kinda quiet around here again. Not much going today, just a little work and lots of cleaning. I splurged and bought some disposable dust clothes for cleaning up the drywall dust. It took 8 just for our family room!! Nasty. Y'all have a good day!” 4:41:39 AM 8/15/07 “I got up at 5 so I could legally water the (toasty) grass again. I guess 5 days away and temps in the 100s is bad for a lawn. I think I ought to start pricing out some sort of irrigation system, or at least the components. Today is cleaning day again, so off I go. WHoopee.” 5:25:10 AM 8/15/07 “I officially quit the Alley Cats job yesterday (for the 2nd time) and am now down to shuttling canoes at Pappy's. There's only a week or so left at that gig so I will soon have time for a nice hike on the Superior Trail and maybe a few river floats as well. It may also be a good idea to sneak into the woods and determine the patterns of deer movement in anticipation of my private hunting season. There's still firewood to be gathered and the garden to manage. Always lots to do and that's very good. Oh, my son will be here in 8 days:)” 5:39:43 AM 8/15/07 “Wait for firewood gathering until the son gets there! Birch and I have to do that tonight, after dinner. He cuts, I load. He found a huge pile of maple and ash that's waiting for someone to pick it up. Gotta get while the getting's good. It's about four truck loads worth. No green wood burning this winter!” 5:43:55 AM 8/15/07 “Wow, that's a great find. I've got a lot of dead oak on my land, but I'm not sure if my old Ford can climb the hill from hell.” 6:05:04 AM 8/15/07 “It is almost tolerable here today...we could use some rain but then everyone else needs some as well. Hope everyone is well! Hugs to all!!!” 6:22:36 AM 8/15/07 Jump to Page << prev
