That is a beautiful area.” 5:43:48 AM 8/01/07 “The weather was nice for driving to Philadelphia, but hot. My vehicle has air conditioning so that didn't matter. Traffic going into the city wasn't bad, but coming home traffic was heavy in spots. I didn't get my problems fixed yesterday, but because the stent has worked so well to get normal blood flow into my head, I got the okay to get them fixed starting next week. I'm still amazed that it worked this well compared to what it was. Now that my artery problem is fixed I can move on to get my swallowing repaired next week. Several days after that, they'll do a wedge resection on my right lung to take out a nodule. I'm not thrilled about it, but at least things are moving along now after being delayed for a month with that carotid artery problem. I'm still counting on getting a new voice in September, no matter what happens with my lung so that's step 3 after I get my lung patched up. It takes about 1 month to recover from a wedge resection from what I read. I'm hoping for me that means 2 weeks because I generally bounce back fast from this stuff. All in all, from what went on the last few months I feel pretty good, despite my swallowing glitch that held me back more than anything. When moving back to the area I intentionally moved 300 miles north of the closest family member. That's the closest I've been since I was 18...and it's not far enough. I'm considering dumping the coffee shop job as well. There's just something about working at your hangout that screws it up as a hangout. Now that I "know" how the sandwiches are made, I don't want to eat 'em anymore. I have enjoyed the extra income and the people I've met in all these summer adventures, but is it worth the loss of my personal time? The question is what would I be doing if not working? Perhaps just dicking around the house making excuses for not working on stuff. A question that I need to deal with.
