It's 5:30 in the a.m. here, zat "get up!" enough? Oh how I miss those early mornings over the Blue Ridge CG, envy you I do!” 7:28:00 AM 12/20/02 “Morning Ape!!” 7:29:47 AM 12/20/02 “Dude, do you work until 11:30pm?” 7:47:07 AM 12/20/02 “Good morning. Sun is bright, sky is blue. Somehow I don't feel any different today, now that I am unemployed. No more work has not set-in, yet. Beautiful weather.” 6:33:29 AM 12/21/02 “The sun was shining on the sea, Shining with all his might: He did his very best to make The billows smooth and bright-- And this was odd, because it was The middle of the night. The moon was shining sulkily, Because she thought the sun Had got no business to be there After the day was done-- "It's very rude of him," she said, "To come and spoil the fun!" HAHAHahahahahahaaa...” 6:37:43 AM 12/21/02 “wow. slept till 0730. I never do that. I must have needed it.” 8:46:21 AM 12/21/02 “I can't find the thread about handling telemarketers, but I just tried it. Trying to sell the paper, I said no thanks, she kept pushing. I asked she would hold for a minute. She held for at least two before I heard the "beep, beep, beep.." of her hanging up. 8D” 9:15:45 AM 12/21/02 “Beauty!” 9:45:55 AM 12/21/02 “I was up all night with a very violent bout of the flu, which had been building up all week. I feel much better now. Actually feel like going out and shopping, har har! It's a weird floaty kind of high you get after being completely purged.” 9:59:29 AM 12/21/02 “Poor Treebait. =( Put fleece pants on, they'll make you feel better, trust me. I'm working on some food poisoning or a bug or something right now, just can't seem to kick it. The fleece pants and top make all the difference in the world. I'm going to lay on the couch now...” 11:58:23 AM 12/21/02 “Hope y'all are feeling better! (slackers! LOL)” 2:02:21 PM 12/21/02 “get up. Ok. I've had a glass of wine, time to go up on the roof and put up the luminarias. Don't worry, flat roof. Luminarias are a NM tradition. Mine (and most people's) are electric now, but the real ones are a paper lunch bag, sand in the bottom and a long burning candle. ”5:34:55 PM 12/21/02 “They do that on Christmas Eve along the streets and the main administration/recreation building in the trailer park where I live. All the paper bags with burning candles are a pretty sight. What is the significance of it?” 5:44:06 PM 12/21/02 “Old tradition, lighting the way for Baby Jesus. Cheap, but beautiful decoration.” 5:45:42 PM 12/21/02 5:49:47 PM 12/21/02 “ah, you also found that they are also called faralitos. Funny, they use that term more in Santa Fe, and luminarias here in ABQ. hmmm... Another glass of wine and its getting dark. This could be interesting.” 5:52:04 PM 12/21/02 “This could be interesting." Pathman Found a beautiful site that is interesting to me. 1. Did a google search on "Luninarias." 2. WARNING: Near the start of the next site, there is a nude drawing. But it is in good taste, I do not consider it rude. What I clicked on was: "Desde el Alma." I did not request the translation. If something else apppears on the screen, it may be necessary to click on "Luminarias," to get to step 2. 3. Scrolled down to "Indice de Temas," and clicked on "Poesia de Amor." 4. Scrolled down to the first Painting. It is a beautiful scene, a girl in a window with mountains in the background. I've seen it before, but I don't remember where. There appears to be a lot more in this site to explore. The site has some pretty things like the following: ”7:31:40 PM 12/21/02 “Correction: Step 3a. At "Indice General," I clicked on "Sencillo Amor."” 7:39:20 PM 12/21/02 “Good morning, y'all. I've got to get moving. Ha, have absolutely nothing to accomplish today. No work, no work no more! I can sit down in the sunshine with my coffee and watch the clouds.” 6:59:44 AM 12/22/02 “Enjoy those clouds! (I know I would, <G>) Well, Slackers.... only Three More Shopping Days 'Til Christmas! <CHUCKLES>” 7:24:36 AM 12/22/02 I'm dreaming of a White Christmas... “...Winter Storm Watch Monday And Monday Night... Snow will develop across the eastern plains starting tonight and increase during the day Monday and persist into Monday night. Accumulations across the eastern plains may reach 1 to 2 inches overnight with another 2 to 4 inches possible on Monday. Along the Central Mountain ranges... snow accumulations for Monday and Monday night will range between 4 to 8 inches with elevations above 7500 feet seeing locally up to 15 inches of new snow. The favored areas for significant snows include the eastern slopes of the Sandia and Manzano Mountains as well as the adjacent plains. The northern Sacramento Mountains are also favored to see the higher end of the snow accumulation range. If that holds up, Cairn could get 15 inches on his side of the mountain.” 8:55:20 AM 12/22/02 “Dang, Pathman. I thought I'd forgotten to close an italics tag again!! LOL Good luck with the White Christmas (I'm sure Holiday Inn is playing continuously on some cable channel, <G>). They say we Just Might get a couple of flakes on Wednesday. Yeah, flakes in this town... Who'd a-thunk it?” 9:06:02 AM 12/22/02 “GET UP!!!!!!!” 5:22:30 AM 12/23/02 “Yawn I only have to work today and thats it! 8)” 5:38:23 AM 12/23/02 “Snow expected here on Christmas day. We'll get some shoeing in while the bird cooks. Snowshoeing has been great so far this year - been cruisin' all through the woods around here. One more day of work and then it's off for a coupla days. Nice! Happy holidays to all. May your stockings be filled with gear.” 5:56:55 AM 12/23/02 “Hey, CMB. You aren't the only one who has to work. Big storm is winding up over AZ, moving into NM today as predicted. Nothing here, yet.” 6:48:26 AM 12/23/02 “Here in the Philly area we have a shot at our first white Christmas in over 30 years...same storm you guys are talking about.” 7:03:34 AM 12/23/02 “Now HPM's got the flu, and it's a doozy. I still have it from friday. It's a hanger-on. I hate this.” 7:06:17 AM 12/23/02 “Dang, treebait! That stinks! Hope y'all (and leaflet included) are healthy enough to enjoy your holidays...” 7:08:57 AM 12/23/02 “HPM was supposed to leave for a trip to the Smokies dayafter Christmas. I doubt he's going now. Laurel hasn't caught it, and isn't showing any of the lead-in signs this flu had.” 7:11:06 AM 12/23/02 “Me too! (What Fritz said) No work today, but GROCERY SHOPPING, ewww. And baking, lots of baking. Finish up the Xmas cards, hopfully before the postlady comes...so they can at least be postmarked before Xmas. No rest until tomorrow. Slim chance of a white Christmas here. Darn cold though.” 7:15:07 AM 12/23/02 “I think what we have is a variety of Norwalk virus that seems to be going around. My dad had it several weeks ago, but my mom never got it.” 7:17:00 AM 12/23/02 “Where have I heard 'Norwalk'...? I think from the cruise ship stories. O well... hope HPM doesn't get it so bad and Laurel avoids it altogether!” 7:22:36 AM 12/23/02 “HPM got the puking and wildly fluctuating temps.” 7:23:29 AM 12/23/02 “Norwalk/Norwalk like virus is what has been hitting the cruise ships. One of the more common viral cause of diarrheal illness.” 7:25:03 AM 12/23/02 “Yep.” 7:27:05 AM 12/23/02 “'HPM was supposed to leave for a trip to the Smokies dayafter Christmas.' treebait Trip? Smokies? What? Details? I did not see it posted under trips. Perhaps I have to be on the scout mailing list! I'm considering one myself! Some miscellaneous hiking and then on Dec. 30, 31 and Jan. 1, Icewater Spring, Mt. LeConte, Icewater Spring. I'm sorry about the flu! Good morning, folks.Only going to 75 today. Enjoy this day and may all your stockings be filled with snow!” 7:41:32 AM 12/23/02 “If my stockings are filled with snow, I hope I'm not in them at the time!” 7:46:22 AM 12/23/02 nowslimmer “Not really a scout trip, but organized by one of the scout families. HPM is just feverish and really tired now, and somehow hopes he'll still go. NOT!” 8:37:36 AM 12/23/02 Start 2003 with a hike. 6:04:46 AM 12/24/02 “Good morning! 79 degrees is like the summer around here. We're in the 30's this morning with 6 inches or more of snow expected tonight. It'll make it interesting driving tomorrow.” 6:38:18 AM 12/24/02 “Hi in the low 30's today. Only got a dusting of snow in ABQ, mountains and other places in the state got more. Coffee tastes soo.... good.” 7:01:04 AM 12/24/02 “Our mountain got 11" of snow out of the storm.” 7:30:48 AM 12/24/02 “If this rain was snow then we would have a butt load by now!!! It has been pouring since about 5..thunder storms even!” 7:37:19 AM 12/24/02 “yep. Thunder just started here. I probably better pull the plug on this thing....” 7:50:10 AM 12/24/02 Down near Ruidoso.. “Ski Apache --------------------------------------------------------------- 53 inch snow depth. 13 inches new (since last report [yesterday]). Notes: 29" of new snow from the storm.” 9:15:23 AM 12/24/02 To everyone “ MERRY CHRISTMAS”1:25:01 AM 12/25/02 “I'm up I'm up already! Gonna get the cinnamon rolls going now.” 7:51:47 AM 12/25/02 Christmas Is Over “Back to the grind. 8(” 4:10:24 AM 12/26/02 No Matter How Old...They Never Go Bad “Loose the smut mags, I mean, do you really need a dozen? Seriously though, one will do.” 4:30:58 AM 12/26/02 Jump to Page << prev
