Looks like snowplowing today. The road grader came by late yesterday afternoon and I don't even want to think of how much snow got pushed into my driveway. I started the plowing yesterday p.m. and cleared out a nice area in front of the garage. The deer are going to have it rough, so I put down a bunch of corn for them to eat. They'll return the favor at some future date, but with corn they have converted into venison. Hopefully I can get into town later on and pick up another 100 pounds or so. It's crisp outside at 17F, but a nice blue sky and lots of trees heavy with snow. Gotta take some pictures. Oh heck, I'm 62 today. Good thing it wasn't like this last week. It would have been a cold hike. Wife and I went to the woods yesterday, to our little privy lake and made burgers on the campfire. Just patted em with onion salt pepper and wrapped em in foil and tossed em on the coals.........mmmmmmm, they were great. Then we drove to the LSHT where it crosses a FS road and hiked in about 2 miles and came back out. Lovely time snowshoeing yesterday at dusk and into the lunar eclipse, followed by the full moon. Out around 3 hours. Got a cool photo of the full moon and the snowshoe path (set digital to 15 sec. and set it on self-timer on a fencepost) Just a little stiff today! Sank probably 5-6 inches into most of the snow and all was breaking trail. Dryfoot broke the most trail, but I did a little. Some places deeper. Very powdery snow!
