"I have no idea what colors you're putting in your daughter's room so let me go ahead and select items I like for that room, k!"” 6:46:39 AM 2/19/07 “You missed the point! I could put up with a lot for a good woman. And these people are trying to help. Also, it seems to me that they helped out, when HPM was off of work for a long spell. Just back from a bicycle ride to the Resource Cafe It was closed. Happy President's Day, previously known as Lincoln's Birthday. So I'm fixing French Toast in the toaster and the coffee just finished perking. Hmm, hmm, good! last edited: 2/19/07 7:31:50 AM” 7:23:13 AM 2/19/07 “Oh, and that topic should be debated on TT. Lighten up, it's gonna be a pretty day.” 7:34:30 AM 2/19/07 “Oh boy, I can relate. When we came home from Fl this Jan it was to find Ab's bin system gone and two huge bookcases put in her room with bigger bins and everything in her entire room "organized" and "put away". There were neat little cursive tags on every bin so my sweet little kindergartener could read where her stuff got moved to (lol). Best part was that the bin system just was gone. Gone to the relative in question's home! It is something else having folks who are so helpful. I was hopin' mad but it was alot of work and was done with no malace intended, so never said a word to the relative. Hope nothing like that ever happens again. At least you get an extra set of sheets and a comforter for when Laurel starts having sleep overs or something. Mid winter break from school this week. Abby and I have nothing going on except Dr's appointments. I think I'm going to need to take her to the movies or something. She's going to be running circles around me by tuesday. It's hard for her that I'm not keeping up. I think I get my first cast off today!! I cannot wait to scratch. I've been very good and haven't stuck any coat hangers down my cast yet. Cross yer fingers for a nice removable cast next, please.” 7:35:14 AM 2/19/07 “I just checked. Today was previously known as Washington's Birthday, which falls on the 22nd. So it appears that Lincoln still has a birthday and Washington has been downgraded below MLK! LOL.” 7:46:01 AM 2/19/07 “Washington downgraded? How horrible. that's a funny observation. I shouldn't have said lighten up. I apologize.” 7:49:43 AM 2/19/07 “Well, now let me see if someone from northern Wisconsin has an opinion on how someone from Florida (whom they've never met) should feel about something their in-laws did? No, no, no, a thousand times no. I can get in enough trouble right here. Got a little cold (or something) today, also something is plugged in a drain pipe or there are septic tank problems and, there's always more firewood to be cut. Oh, there's still that matter of the uninstalled woodstove and furnace. Yup, looks like I got my hands full. No need to borrow trouble...or did I? Have a great day everyone!” 7:53:08 AM 2/19/07 “Happy President's Day...time to decorate the tree and not to forget the Star of Washington...then must carve Lincoln on the pumpkin and light the Jefferson candles. It always takes so much time to cook the Grant dinner and find Adam's special dinnerware...lighting the Garfield fireworks (yep, poor taste) is always and exciting way to end the day....” 9:01:36 AM 2/19/07 “Mid 30's today. Should get nice and soggy today with the snowmelt. Yay running outside by the end of the week!” 9:04:08 AM 2/19/07 “LOL @ Nimblefoot. LOL @ Mataharihiker. LOL @ dayhiker. Yes, it is a beautiful day___a little chilly, but beautiful. last edited: 2/19/07 9:22:41 AM” 9:14:06 AM 2/19/07 “Don't forget the Taft Hot-tub... And the Richard Nixon MP3 player with the 18 minute gap... And the 'Give-Em-Hell Harry' Truman barbecue grill... Okay, I'll stop now! LOL” 10:56:27 AM 2/19/07 “Wow, I have been non-existant here lately. My school didn't have school today, so I worked at G's school. No 6AM phone call, so I thought I was free for the day. Got called at 7:34, and school starts at 8:10. Yeah, not gonna make it on time. Turned out to be a pretty easy day though. We have another ultrasound scheduled on April 12th. Let the debate begin - should we find out the sex or not??” 8:29:21 PM 2/19/07 “I like surprises ... personally speaking, [G]” 8:34:15 PM 2/19/07 “You mean an ultra sound can tell whether or not the kid's going to be gay? Wow! j/k. I'd post a thread and let tt'ers guess.” 1:49:48 AM 2/20/07 “If it's your first, let it be a surprise, it's kind of exciting that way. If it's your second or third or fourth or whatever, and you wanna know, then go ahead and ask. Hey you got stuff to buy, a room to plan, might as well know in advance. Of course this is only my opinion, I've had four kids and this is how I did it. This is your body and your life smiley girl, and that of your husband's and you two get to do it exactly how you want to. LOL @ Nimblefoot!” 2:15:35 AM 2/20/07 Hugs. “Good morning. In Melbourne it is 45°F. and dropping. But it will climb to 73°F. I guess this can be called balmy weather. Come on down and enjoy it.” 4:45:46 AM 2/20/07 “15F...good morning! Went for an off-trail hike in the State Park next door that was cool...pretty much went along the bluffs along the St.Croix River except for one hairy descent (snow covered moraines are a trip) and another ascent... Lovely day to crawl around on rocks, snow, ice, fall-downs and deer scat...it's been too long since I went scrambling...the Yaktrax Pros did nicely except on bare trap-rock (what we call all the basalt around here)” 5:16:43 AM 2/20/07 “Good mornin'! Gonna be in the 40s here and it's gonna feel wonderful!” 5:26:52 AM 2/20/07 “Mornin all, 63 here and looks like rain......two more days till hike time....then its three days on the trail and a few more in the woods camping.........FINALLY!!!!!!!!” 6:56:27 AM 2/20/07 “Good morning everyone! I am the proud owner of a storm trooper boot now (got my pnematic cast last night)! I got to take it off to sleep. It felt sooooo wonderful to point my toes and flex what's left of my calf muscle. In two weeks I lost roughly 1/2 of it. Weirdness. The storm trooper boot is much more comfortable and oh so futuristic. SG, It will be easier to get the nursery together knowing who's coming but it does take away that element of surprise. There will be plenty of other surprises though. ;) Going to take the kiddo to see "Night at the Museum" Thursday evening. Anyone seen it?” 7:23:54 AM 2/20/07 “IS THIS THE MOTHER OF ALL THREADZILLA'S?” 7:24:48 AM 2/20/07 “At least in terms of quality:)” 7:26:51 AM 2/20/07 “how's that wood pile comin Nimble...?” 7:27:52 AM 2/20/07 “no the mother of all is Scortch's Night Crawler thread” 7:34:17 AM 2/20/07 “"Let the debate begin - should we find out the sex or not??” smiley girl 9:29:21 PM 2/19/07 We wanted to be surprised all three times and we were but somehow we knew they were going to be boys.” 7:41:09 AM 2/20/07 “It's beacuse you're so studly MarkO.” 7:47:42 AM 2/20/07 “Mornin'” 7:52:09 AM 2/20/07 “Neigh-hey-hey-hey-hey!!!!! Hi-Yo Silver, awaaaaaaaayyyyy!!!!” 7:56:52 AM 2/20/07 “Stovey, it is duly noted that you avoided taking an obvious slam dunk shot at MarkO on the gettup thread. Good for you, now report to the TT Feeling Sickly thread, lol. Chappy, the woodpile is starting to dwindle as I am trying to thaw my frozen septic system. I think I'll be constructing an outdoor crapper this coming summer. Gotta have backup.” 8:24:57 AM 2/20/07 “Backed up?? Try a little fruit.” 8:28:46 AM 2/20/07 “Not me. Tell that to Tim Hardaway.” 8:50:49 AM 2/20/07 “Nimblefoot.... In the summer you should have heater coils installed around you septic tank. It is basically solar powered water system...” 1:54:52 PM 2/20/07 “Either that or I'll mulch it so heavily that all the underground turds will think they're in Florida.” 2:22:37 PM 2/20/07 “I...... don't think that needs any elaboration from me.” 2:28:11 PM 2/20/07 “who's Nimblefoot talkin about?” 6:52:35 PM 2/20/07 “My frozen septic tank:)” 7:00:34 PM 2/20/07 “ha!” 7:01:18 PM 2/20/07 “You know, it's not that early folks to be up and at 'em...LOL...yeah, sure, whatever you say, Mata....only myself to talk to this morning...sad state of affairs if you ask me...LOL.. Happy humpy day!” 5:21:55 AM 2/21/07 Hugs. “Good morning. Mataharihiker - You need to ring a bell or something, if you want some attention. I've been up. But, with music playing on my computer, there is no way for me to hear you. So you might as well sleep later. I would love to have a Happy, humpy day! Everyone - Have a great day. last edited: 2/21/07 6:03:11 AM” 6:01:02 AM 2/21/07 “Warmer today with showers -- It may be Hump Day, but I wouldn't walk a mile for a Camel, [WINK]” 6:08:16 AM 2/21/07 “60° and rainy here. It will be close to 70° here again today. No frozen septics 'round here. Our server has been down almost a week with the Valentine virus. That makes things fun to communicate with clients and contractors. This weekend we're having a sleep over with 4 boys for Reece's 7th b'day. Our nephew is staying the whole week. Chuck E Cheese is in our future. I suspect I'll be sipping on whiskey both weekend nights.” 6:13:11 AM 2/21/07 “Morning. It's warming up here. 23° right now. Our snow is disapearing. Abby played out for a good hour and 45 yesterday morning, and came in sopping wet. Mud season is beginning I do believe. I wish I could've gone sledding this year. Going to start researching rafting trips through the grand canyon today. Also got Birch to drive me to the library last night and stocked up on movies (travel DVDs and kiddie shows) and got Charles Frazier's new book "13 Moons". This one is about the Cherokee. I read about three chapters last night and am hooked. I love the way that man writes. Nimblefoot, I hope you're feeling better and your turds are warming up. ;)” 6:51:05 AM 2/21/07 “Sass - I started that book as well. So far I like it. So the GC is back on? Excellent. How long of a float trip are you considering? My wife and I are considering(money, time, childcare issues aside, ha!) a rafting trip to the Gauley (sp?) this fall. Any interest? It's about 7-8 hrs from both of us. Some folks from church are trying to get a trip up. In reality, I've got maybe a 1 in 4 chance of doing this, but you never know.” 7:04:01 AM 2/21/07 “Nimblefoot's frozen turds - a possible solution - imagine a giant dip stick heater stuck up the butt of that septic tank 8-)” 7:10:16 AM 2/21/07 Good Morning All!! “Today is Ash Wednesday....I'll be conducting a service at 6:30 this evening, the imposition of ashes with scripture readings and hymns interspersed.. Got a lot of things to do today before I cut out tomorrow for my three day backpackin trip on the LSHT with Rocketman (see my Ouachita trip photos in my folder) Then all next week in the woods for retreats (clergy, etc.). I'm the cook every year for our District retreat so we'll see what the chef whips up.....and I'm taking my tent to sleep in, forget the cabins...well, except for the shower and toilet... :)” 7:10:18 AM 2/21/07 “Mornin'” 7:11:30 AM 2/21/07 “Ash Wed services are very impressive. Our church is having one tonight as well.” 7:11:49 AM 2/21/07 “Researching Dayhiker. I have to see how much. Birch's $500 truck is quickly on it's way up to $3500 today. The engine needs rebuilding or replacing. He replaced the carborator and spark plugs and apparently gave the thing a stroke. So, it's a matter of "can we possibly". And that will have much to do with how long we go for. The longer the better imo. Hoping it can happen. If it doesn't we'll find something else fun. Yep, I think Abby and I will walk the three houses down to the Catholic church on our street for mass today. Birch has school tonight so I can't get to our church's service. I grew up Catlick though and will remember what to do. Anyone have any good reading set up for lent? Our pastor is brilliant but the books he chooses for our lenten studies are just bad. last edited: 2/21/07 7:24:46 AM” 7:16:21 AM 2/21/07 “Ouch, ouch, ouch, getting cars worked on sucks big time. Within a 2 month period of Reece being born I threw a rod on the engine of the car I had then and hit something in the road and blew the transmission. At least the transmission fell under road hazard and was insured.” 7:39:21 AM 2/21/07 “VERY foggy here this morning...most of the schools on 2 hour delay...probaby the thickest i can remember” 7:44:13 AM 2/21/07 Jump to Page << prev
