ARG! The kid is crazy sicko. Fever for three days, mucus-y cough and sore throat. It's a lovely virus that lasts all week. She feels so rotten she's been begging for Robitussin. You know it's bad when anyone asks for that nasty vile, yet oh so effective, syrup of the nastiest flavor. So much for the Valentine's Day party tomorrow. Poor kid is convinced some little boy named Tanner is going to give her a "Mushy Gushy Valentime".
This month is going downhill quickly.

Oh well. I think I figured out how to go sledding and get around if we get loads of snow....Birch's overboats he has for work!! They go on over shoes so I should be able to fit the dumb cast in there. The snow level right now is just right so I don't get frozen toes. Any deeper and I'm going to be wet or stuck inside or hopefully wearing Birch's overboat. Prolly won't go sledding though. Getting back up the hill might be tough.

Have fun in the snow everyone (except Dayhiker in his shorts) and stay warm!

I took Freckles The Killer Dog out for 2 hikes yesterday. We found a new route and I ended up doing 8-10 miles with a pack and Lord knows what she did. It must have been a lot because she always gets home a couple of hours after I do. I call her the Killer Dog because she always takes a dump on this pile of wolf scat in the trail, as if to say there's a new sherrif in town. What's funny is I don't think she could whip the cat. Kind of like the fuego threads when you think of it, lol. Coffee's done, later.

I would do it, but snow is not permitted in Melbourne, Florida. Besides, I have shorts on as I sit here under the A/C.

Have a wonderful day.

Started the day out much earlier than I am used to. Went back the gym this morning at 5. Just need 2 weeks of this to get used to it. Have to say that I am not tired.

It is fun to look out my office window at the snow falling and the construction workers across the street building Trump's new building.

If I remember it tomorrow, I will bring my camera to post some pictures of my new view.

Came in early this morning so I wouldn't have to deal w/NJ drivers and ice. Better to deal with them separately. ;) Roads are nasty but the office is nice and quiet.

Stay safe all and have a great Valentine's Day!!

Somebody's up!

The university is closed and I get to stay home!
I'm one of the first on campus along with our Keystone Kops and the maintenance people.

Ice-ice, baby!!

Hey LMG, when I worked at Split Ballbearing in Lebanon it was right around Sharon that I would start to see cars spun off I-89 this way and that during near-and-below freezing temperatures while heading home.
That was where the rain would turn to freezing and it was my cue to slow TF down.

Yeeha - looks like I get to drive 650 miles Thur. I get to hit 2 small towns in east Bama, then to B'ham, then to Nashville, then home. At least I knock out 4 project meetings in one day. It's gonna be cold in Nashville.

Near freezing here, we're going to have lows in the low to mid teens Thur or Fri. Coldest day of the year. Brrr.

LOL..yeah, that stretch is notorious for crashes. When/if we had a snow day, I would go out sledding in the field behind our house, which is right next to that stretch of I-89. We used to sit in our sleds, eat snow, and watch the spinning action of the cars. Hey...it was Sharon...nothin' else to do there. ;)

Yeah, that and watch the antics of those hogs on that farm right along Rt 14.
Sometimes, after third shift, I would take Rt 14 home instead of I-89.
I was in no hurry and enjoyed the drive.

No school today!! There are snow drifts everywhere. I'm so glad I get to spend Valentine's day with my two favorite people. And now Ab doesn't have to miss her party today.

Going out for breakfast. I figured out I can wear either Birch's down bootie (not too far though, don't want to get it staurated with road salt) or his overboot. He calls me FrankenFoot with the overboot on. Oh well, better than snowy, frozen toes!

Have a wonderful day all.

I don't want to know a thing about birch and his down bootie. Sounds like he should do some lunges or something.

A few years back my wife was trying to lose the weight after Emma was born. We ate good and exercised a good bit. She aspired to buns of steel. She went from a balsa wood butt, to pine buns, to oak buns, and finally to BUNS OF STEEL. I was the official bun tester. Not a bad gig!

When you got 'em by the balls, their hearts and mind will follow. I got tired of waiting. The longer I waited, the more suspicious I became. Finally I googled his ass on the state department of justice website. His name showed up more than a few times. I contact the DA in his county, the sheriff in mine, drove to Sears and got him fired. After doing all of this I called him up, informed him what I did, and advised him that if he got my job finished to my satisfaction, I would undo it all. Presently I have a new beyotch. I think it's noteworthy that I never called him a name or raised my voice. My goal is only to get the job done.

Good morning.

Winter shock waves are here for the sixth time this season. In Melbourne, Florida, it is 48°F./9°C. During the next several days our highs will be in the low 60's and the lows in the low 40's and low 30's. Don't know why the snowbirds keep returning.

Looks like a busy weekend approaching. Hope you have some good things planned.

Good Morning! The kid is well!! Whoot! Can't wait to put her on the school bus today. =D

Smiley, I well remember being more tired than I thought humanly possible and falling asleep on the table at every break at work. I started to snore too. The guys I worked with loved it and ridiculed me extensively. The exhaustion passes after awhile. Being pregnant is some weird isn't it? Hang in there!

So, talked with the airlines yesterday. It's sooo disheartening. $100 each ticket to postpone using our tickets until 11-07 at the latest, and up to $100 per ticket to reschedule a flight, plus the difference in cost of flight. It will be $400 extra to use our airline tickets. =( Hopefully when the time comes to book a flight somewhere Frontier flies, we will get someone very sympathetic.
Where out west should we go is the question. At least we get the fun of planning a new trip.

chappy - church committee's are fun, aren't they. Did my tour of duty on Stewardship, Staff Parish, and Trustees. I took a pass on Finance for this 3 year cycle. That stuff will wear you out. You poor ministers get to go to all the meetings.

Sass - sorry to hear it. If you go in late Sept I'd recommend hitting the Aspen leaf change. I still haven't looked for that NGA adventure issue I mentioned that was full of info on N. Cali. Another option might be to go right back where you were going. Either GC or hit the 4 corners.

No, can't do the GC. Will have to wait for a trip to share again, it's too much $ to do on our own with rental cars, permit fees, etc. CO is old news. We spent our honeymoon backpacking there and have been there many times. It's beautiful but there's too much we haven't seen. Four corners is fun but really, it's kinda just a glorified flea market of Native goods.
I'm thinking a paddling trip in the Ozarks or Big Sur or something.

Morning. -8 or so with -25 wind chill.

Holy crap! Yesterday was like a holiday at work! Dryfoot was unexpectedly waiting with a gorgeous anthurium flower and candy.

A barbershop quartet showed up to do a couple songs. (We'd run an article publicizing their fund-raising, so they dropped by free) They gave each of us a single red rose.

THEN... a woman called and asked if I'd be in the office awhile. I said, "Hey, who are you?" And "Yeah." She then showed up with plant from a greenhouse. Said she'd been meaning to thank me for the fun feature story I'd done on their fun family reunion last August -- and for which I won a second place award in the feature category (for our weekly's circulation number) at the state MNA convention.

LOL! And music was a theme, too! My early morning card played a tune when opened. Then, of course, the barbershopper's four-part acapella harmonies. And the final plant bouquet had a flower-looking, plus covered thing that played music, too!!

WHEW!! :-)

Now back to reality. Today is crazy with like six things to cover starting at 9 and lasting likely till 9. (And I gotta work in a stop at the shop -- the Jeep's steering wheel is loose! YIKES!) Tomorrow -- day off to go see state dance team competition in The Cities.

Have a good one.

Sass, I don't seem to have that pregnancy exhaustion. What I do have is a bad case of the "I'm Starving" at 3AM and wake up because of that. By the time I eat, burp, and pee a few times, its hard to go back to sleep before getting up at 5:30 for work. :(
