How did the ceiling painting go, Nimblefoot...you gotta let me know where your new place is...I'll invite myself to stop by on my next visit North... Griz, glad the kids untied you and hopefully Sunshine made it home and you've forgiven here....LOL...love ya both... Anyone actually have time with Christmas prep to get out and hike! I know a couple of women getting out... Now I gotta go do some online window shopping...Bill needs some ideas...whee-eee-eeee!” 7:50:01 AM 12/16/06 “Oh my. I may have to head for the nordic trails in spite of a broken rib. ”10:56:36 AM 12/16/06 “I went skiing, had a good time. Felt better after an hour and a half workout than I did at the start.” 7:00:16 PM 12/16/06 “Hey! It's MORNING!! Not only that, it's Sunday morning...so , pancakes or waffles? Ooh, must have coffee before I type something stoopid....” 6:31:57 AM 12/17/06 “Just give me my caffeine. I don't even feel like enjoying it. I have a lot of work to do today. Bleah. Still not enough sleep lately either. Oh well. The house looks good, the tree is fantastic, and my family is great. Got to look at the good stuff.” 7:08:16 AM 12/17/06 “Brrrr, thank God it's not really winter. My furnace went kaput last night and I'm without heat. Fortunately, (I think) the previous owner left me some new parts and one just may replace the culprit. I did manage to get the chains on the tractor yesterday and now I'm ready to plow whatever snow dares to drop. Have a good day everyone.” 7:33:04 AM 12/17/06 “18F, Partly cloudy. Very cool crescent moon at dawn. Good luck with the furnace nimblefoot. coffee, internet radio and newspaper and watching dawn progress” 8:56:05 AM 12/17/06 “It's my son's birthday today; Joe is 31. Maybe I'll have a piece of cake in his honor, maybe a beer. The furnace man comes today (I hope). I've slept on the many trails much colder than this, but a home should be a little more cozy than the outside it purports to protect one from, no? Oh well, coffee's done and soon I will warm from within. Have a great day everyone.” 7:10:25 AM 12/18/06 “Good Morning! This is it folks, the last week before Christmas. I have been (mostly) good all year. I got to tell Santa (Dad), what I wanted most this past week. I'm holding out for a set of Kahtoola Traction systems in aluminum. I want them sooooo bad, even more than a new summer down bag. Christmas cards are done. Birch tried to put them in the drop box near his work this morning and it was full to the top. I have two manuscripts for Abby's school publishing center to do (just type and print them out, sometimes inserting clip art). Listen to this one by a female 1st grader: Pineapple One day Punky the bunny and Pineapple the fish hated each other. And a turtle went into the water and killed pineapple because he disliked him. And then Pineapples eggs hatched. The End. I think I'm going to have a hard time finding clip art for this one. Oh my. Have a wonderful day!” 7:24:30 AM 12/18/06 “Good luck on the heating situation, NF... Feelin' good this morning...gonna do some shopping, maybe, later today...thinking I need something for Christmas dinner....” 9:27:45 AM 12/18/06 “Good after NOON!!!! ....yes..me at the library again!!!!... so what have I missed????” 12:07:26 PM 12/18/06 Hugs. “Me, I hope!” 12:18:05 PM 12/18/06 “ ![]() ![]() Get you one of these Nimblefoot! Just a few $. They work great! Just slide the thing on it's rollers against the ceiling and the painting is done.” 12:18:56 PM 12/18/06 “I'm glad to be in the office finally. I left home at 4:30 to make it to a job site at 6:00. I had to check the steel for a 4th floor before they started their pour. 3 concrete trucks were already there. This was the first time I'd ever checked steel by flashlight. There was a light frost and that rebar was slippery as all getout. I got that done, got to the other jobsite at 8, looked at it, hit another meeting and made it back to the office. We were supposed to go and watch Reece's school Christmas play, but he had a 102* fever yesterday and he's been on antibiotics for a week. He's at the doc now. It's looking like the flu. His only comment about missing the play was, "I guess there will only be 9 lords a leaping now."” 12:20:03 PM 12/18/06 “Hugs to all... ...I sure do miss y'all....” 12:22:16 PM 12/18/06 “"I guess there will only be 9 lords a leaping now." That boy cracks me up! Get well soon, little hiking buddy!” 12:23:45 PM 12/18/06 “Who is this divinity person? ;-)” 12:24:15 PM 12/18/06 “I hope he'll be better soon Dayhiker. He is a hoot. Hey Div! Nice to see you.” 12:32:50 PM 12/18/06 “Nice to see ya too!!!!! oh stovy.....heres a hug for you.... ..a lap top for my next birthday!!!! ...hugs to all!!!” 12:58:57 PM 12/18/06 “:-)” 1:00:38 PM 12/18/06 “"a laptop for my next birthday" Just leave it alone, just leave it alone, lol.” 1:02:10 PM 12/18/06 “I've got a laptop for div, anytime. We just need to get rid of a certain person first. ;-)” 1:08:33 PM 12/18/06 “Well..time to go to get my baking groceries for Christmas....loved the pics Stovey....I do miss y'all...I go to the Dr next month to find out about my back...doing Yoga 4 times a week ( which made life bearable) and working out 3 and on my stair stepper 5 days....wooo hoooo...now we will see how it goes...getting old sucks in some ways!!!!” 1:09:06 PM 12/18/06 “LOL...OMG Stovey...you are bad...... I am leaving for North Alabama Fri....I will be dayhiking in Sipsey the following week...woooo hooooooo.....I miss it so bad!!!..and I sure miss being outdoors!!!” 1:11:59 PM 12/18/06 “Yeah baby, Reece has micoplasma (walking pneumonia) AND the flu. He was vaccinated for the flu last Mon when he got his antibiotic. Seems he has a different strain than what the vaccine works on. I just hope Addie doesn't wind up with it. I imagine it wouldn't geehaw too well with her paralyzed vocal chord. div - have fun at Sipsey. I may take the kids over there over New Years.” 1:16:03 PM 12/18/06 “Evening, y'all! I got a mystery Christmas card today. No return address, just a postmark from a city several hours away. We can't read who its signed by. Addressed to Mr. and Mrs. G at our new address. Hmmmm..... I am hoping to spend part of the week baking, finishing my shopping, wrapping, and preparing for my first Christmas hostess experience. Oh, and throw in two days of traveling before everyone comes to my house. So far, I'm working two more days this week, which is good for the checkbook, but I was hoping to have much of the week off. If I get a job tomorrow, I'll have worked 10 days in a row....quite good for subbing in two small districts! Going to download some pics we took of town last night...maybe I'll post a few here for you all to enjoy. :)” 5:15:08 PM 12/18/06 dayhiker “http://www.louisianamusicfactory.com/real/3425-1.ram Play this for Reese and say Mr. Kevin hopes he feels better.” 5:20:28 PM 12/18/06 “Good morning!” 6:35:40 AM 12/19/06 “Good morning, MHH! I'm a little worried about my coffee this morning. Every time I take a sip, it feels like a slight chemical burn on my tongue and my throat. Either I made it too strong, the soy milk went off, or there's detergent residue in my cup. I use a nontoxic, safer dishwasher detergent that I've had no problems at all with, and I drank some of the soymilk last night and it was just fine. I guess it's the beans, and I haven't had coffee in over a week. Whatever, it should be an interesting day. Today is my dad's birthday. He's 66. Some days I'm surprised he made it this far, other days I think he'll last forever just out of sheer curmudgeonliness. Of course both of his parents are still chugging along too. Sort of.” 7:09:52 AM 12/19/06 “Curmudgeon status: my last goal, lol. The furnace is back on line:), they say I need a new one:(. I had to remain at home, waiting for the repairman yesterday, so today is when I finally finish up the painting. Stovey, I'm aware of those devices you posted, but mine is a popcorn ceiling and not certain they would work. Thnks anyway:) Tomorrow I should get the cleanup done and Thursday is for shampooing the carpet. On Friday, Nimblefoot saw all was good and rested (evidently Nimblefoot sees all is good quite often). Have the day of your choice:)” 7:30:40 AM 12/19/06 “Good morning!” 7:38:30 AM 12/19/06 “I'll play it for him tonight SS. Giddyup, now I'm getting sick. I'm less worried about that than I am my wife getting sick. A sick, nursing mother is not fun for mom.” 8:17:06 AM 12/19/06 “There sure is alot of illness going around now. Both grammas are sick in our family, the B is getting over something and half her school is out with strep. We just keep eatting oranges and taking our vitamins. Dayhiker, I hope you all have a speedy recovery!” 8:22:03 AM 12/19/06 “I forgot to add, last Sat we watched Polar Express on IMAX. Very cool. If you get the chance then go for it. The various rollercoasterish scenes were really impressive.” 9:03:40 AM 12/19/06 “I second that dayhiker! We took Ab to see it that way when it came out. It was totally fun. She actually squealed a few times. Well, is everyone sleeping in this morning? Today is the kindergarten Christmas party. Should be lots and lots of fun. It's also "bell" day. What was the teacher thinking? lol, I guess I need to hunt up some jingle bells. My client for this afternoon canceled (everyone around here is sick sick sick), so I am FREE! =) Fudge day I think. I can't make it too far ahead of giving it away because I will eat it all. Enjoy your Wed!!” 7:09:06 AM 12/20/06 “I was up, reported to my sub job this morning, only to tell them I wouldn't be able to stay all day due to this crazy rash/allergic reaction I'm having! 20 more minutes until the dr. office is open. I have hives up and down both legs, on my elbows, and my hands. I'm an itchy mess right now. Ug! I'll be sleeping again as soon as the benedryl kicks in....” 7:11:56 AM 12/20/06 “It's already close to 30, the suns just now getting up and still no snow. The duplex painting was finally finished yesterday and today starts the cleanup. This is beginning to feel like I have a job, but no one made me do it:) Coffee seems boring this morning. I wonder why? Time to shower, do my stretches, dishes and breakfast. Peace to all who seek it.” 7:36:32 AM 12/20/06 “Feel better Amy. Itchiness is the worst!” 7:41:14 AM 12/20/06 “lmao - bell day!” 7:44:07 AM 12/20/06 “I stayed home from work today. My temp at the doc office this afternoon was 103.2. The nurse looked at me and said, "You must feel like crap." That pretty much sums it up. I'm on 4 scipts. My wife goes to the same doc, so while I was there I got her a prescription for Tamiflu to use as a preventative. We're pushing $400 in medical bills this month. Merry Christmas!!! It was near 70 today too. Feels weird to be sick with a fever and it's warm out.” 8:20:56 PM 12/20/06 “dayhiker, you have some mail that will cheer you up” 8:27:48 PM 12/20/06 “Good morning all you lovely TTers...and how are you this bright and shiney morning...oops, it's still dark outside...well, at least I'M bright and shiney...not new, of course, one wouldn't want to lie too much a few days before Christmas unless they are fond of coal in their stockings...” 6:30:51 AM 12/21/06 “Mornin, MH. I think it's more rain hereabouts. Had a nice two day outing but now I'm back in civilization...but just in time for Christmas. :)” 6:54:15 AM 12/21/06 “Dayhiker, I really hope your family feels better quickly. Take it easy. Well, no white Christmas here. It's all rain. Those mothers at the dealership collision center have been sitting on my car for more than a freakin week! They just started taking it apart yesterday. The not so funny part about this is that I asked the manager if I could leave the car for a day, they could order what they need to get started andthen I'd bring it back tomorrow, before Christmas (and our trip to FL). He told me that would be okay but then it would take three weeks instead of two because of the short work weeks. Bastards. Oh well, maybe there's still hope for a Christmas total miracle. Nothing going on today except cooking. Abby will have her first sleep over tonight (giggle giggle giggle). I forsee her getting quite irritated if her freind doesn't want to go to sleep at a decent time. The girl likes her sleep. Christmas break starts tomorrow! =) Have a good day everyone.” 7:18:17 AM 12/21/06 “Wow Sass, that sounds EXACTLY like what HPM went through! As a result he has a brand new Subaru! I really hope things are a lot less aggravating for you than what we still have. I'm happy this morning because we finally got a measurable amount of RAIN!!!!!! Droughts suck rocks! My father in law must really like the potatoes I make around this time of year; he's asked me 3 times now if I can make them for Christmas. It's just parboiled baking potatoes, sliced in halk lengthwise, then sliced almost all the way through so that when they're lying on the baking sheet or your plate they're sort of fanned out lengthwise. I brush them with really good olive oil or flavored oil, season them with sea salt and fresh ground pepper, and pop those suckers under the broiler until crispy on top. Dang, I haven't had breakfast yet and that sounds good. Of course Dhutch's stollen sounds really good too. Now where's my coffee? Oh yeah, I didn't make any because I'm out of milk of any sort and I'm a latte kind of girl.” 8:16:50 AM 12/21/06 “Sass, I got this image of a bunch of mothers sitting on your car and thought, "well, it's a little strange, but she does live in Michigan", lol.” 8:18:43 AM 12/21/06 “lol. Nut! You know I left out the word after Mothers to be polite. I muttered it a few times yesterday (don't worry no one was home but me). It always makes me feel much better. Helps me get my spray skirt on my kayak too. ;) Treebait, We make oven fries the same way except we cut through the potato all the way, making spears. I could eat them everyday of my life and be happy about it.” 8:23:39 AM 12/21/06 “Nimblefoot - I had the same image. However, instead of "well, it's a little strange, but she does live in Michigan", my thought was, "well, she's a little strange, and she does live in Michigan." LOL Hope the cup arrives today. I had to delay mailing it so that you could not return it to Sassafras to send it to me in time for Christmas. last edited: 12/21/06 8:36:08 AM” 8:31:43 AM 12/21/06 “Has the exlax in the chocolate cookies taken effect yet NS? Anytime now....” 8:33:30 AM 12/21/06 “yummm - tollhouse cookies with exlax chips” 8:36:36 AM 12/21/06 Jump to Page << prev
