Luckily, I had gone out skiing in the morning, had a bottle of wine and needed to clean out the storage room where all of the decorations were located. 28 now, high in the 30's, snow advisory, 2-4 inches, near 100% chance of precip. Have a good day and don't do anything I wouldn't do, today. ;-D” 8:54:47 AM 11/26/06 “Morning. We've already been to church, had breakfast and lunch, G's outside hanging Christmas lights, and I'm headed out to help him. Its not even 11AM yet! Supposed to hit 60 degrees today, but no sunshine. I suppose we can handle that. :) Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone!” 9:44:18 AM 11/26/06 “Morning :) Yoga kicked my ass this morning but I feel great :)” 9:53:58 AM 11/26/06 “Well, it's not quite morning here yet but it is for those on Eastern time. So, GOODMORNING ALL! I miss this thread but a nasty thing called a job keeps me from checking in. Mata, sorry to hear about the pneumonia. What a drag. Hang in there, sweetie! *hugs*” 11:40:17 PM 11/26/06 “Good morning. I've been up for a couple of hours, sunshine. Guess it was too warm to sleep. But the temperature has dipped a few degrees to 64°F., where it is holding steady. So, with four hours until sunrise, I think I'll return to my sleeping bag. Have a great week.” 1:57:15 AM 11/27/06 “Good morning everyone...thanks for the good wishes, sunshine...I was sorry not to have seen you at Prosecutor's but your significant other gave me one helluva hug from you...he's good at that, isn't he? Have a good day everyone....” 6:56:35 AM 11/27/06 “I KNEW IT........Nowslimmer gets his bag nights in his back yard......... Oh, good morning everyone who doesn't.....hehe :p” 7:52:27 AM 11/27/06 “morning all. Glad we shoveled the 4 inches of wet snow last night. Only a dusting over night, light and dry. Quick cleanup+snowmelt, should be ready for the cold temps coming. Black ice on the highway to work, though.” 8:13:30 AM 11/27/06 “Goood Morning TTers! Funny, this is the only thread I generally can count on people being nice to eachother on anymore. It's about the only one I check with any regularity. The Thanksgiving work project went well. Gramma's new wires were just in time. She had more scorched, burnt and singed electrical in her old house than anyone should. The old knob and tube stuff was way past due for replacement. My uncle made a great joke about the guardian angel flying around her house w/ a fire extinguiser all these years finally being granted a two week vacation. Seeing all the burnt fixtures and plugs makes me believe in guardian angels with extinguisers!! It's good to be home.” 11:11:20 PM 11/27/06 “Rise and Shine!!” 7:18:46 AM 11/28/06 “yep - I bet some of that pumpkin pie shine would go real good right about now - sigh” 7:24:35 AM 11/28/06 “Good morning. Just got my phone at the new place yesterday. Internet should be up shortly...I hope. T.v. in a couple more days. Deer season is over so I can start safely strolling about the property, but there's still lots to do. I'm also painting out the duplex so I can get it rented/sold and there is the little matter of starting physical therapy for my post-op back. I've pretty much broken all the not lifting rules since I had to move mostly on my own, but if they can teach me enough to maintain decent core strength and flexibility, they will find me most cooperative. I bought 50 lbs of cracked corn to lure the deer in for the special one day Nimblefoot hunting season:)” 10:40:26 AM 11/28/06 Hugs. “Good morning. It's 72°F. here in Melbourne according to the Weather Service at the Melbourne International Airport just up the street. Showers are a 20% possibility, but we've had a lot of them during the past 2-3 hours. Rain costs me money since it helps the grass to grow and my lawn service then has to cut it. That's one nice thing about a snow cover all winter___no lawn work. Did I tell you how nice you look this morning? Your smile cheers everyone. Have a great day. last edited: 11/29/06 7:24:54 AM” 7:21:35 AM 11/29/06 “Morning TT4ers. 2F, more snow expected tonight. Saw some film of Seattle on the news last night. What a mess. Looks like an ice rink. The Seahawks-Packer game looked like it was in Green Bay, not Seattle.” 7:50:49 AM 11/29/06 “And we ran in tank tops and shorts yesterday! This winter is really started off on the wrong foot around here. I seem to be the only one complaining about it. Got some Xmas shopping done today. Just six more ideas to follow through on and I'll be done. It kinda makes me feel a bit cranky thinking about it. Thinking about the snow we're supposed to get on Friday makes me feel better though. Have a wonderful day everyone!” 10:11:14 AM 11/29/06 “morning all, it's 65 degrees :)” 10:11:55 AM 11/29/06 “Yeaaa, I got my computer back. Look out world!” 6:20:16 PM 11/29/06 “Mornin' all. Up early, headin' into the big city for a physical therapy appointment. My "computer" room in this old farm house is considerably smaller than a storage shed and quite drafty. Not sure what it's original use was; there's kitchen cabinets mounted on the wall behind me. The downstairs bedroom (the only one with any size) is connected to the living area with no wall between them, just a big arch. At the moment I have no idea what to do about it, but I've all winter to plan and to scheme. I had a huge bonfire the other day, burning a lot of old furniture that I inherited. When spring arrives I'll sort out the metal and dispose of it. My current thoughts on a major renovation are "every day spent rehabbing this place is a day not spent hiking". I'm leaning toward just fixing it up to my satisfaction (and I have very low standards) and to hell with resale value. Hope everyone is staying well and being good for Christmas.” 5:41:41 AM 11/30/06 “Good morning. It's raining hard but still 53° outside. Tomorrow we're expecting 2-5" of accumulation. I'm crossing my fingers for 5". Nimblefoot, your thoughts on renovations are much like ours. Hmmmm, lets see, new bathroom or two kayaks and all the gear? Easy choice! I don't mind the light blue tiles (and the spots where they're missing) all that much. Maybe when it gets closer to selling time we'll consider working on it a bit more. As long as it's structurally sound you may as well play! ☺” 7:34:29 AM 11/30/06 “Morning! Um, Nimblefoot... 1960s bead chains??? :-)” 8:01:57 AM 11/30/06 “Sass, nimble...thank you....I need reasurances that the 10 year old "bathroom under renovation" is okay...if my gear is good.” 8:08:29 AM 11/30/06 ““Goood Morning TTers! Funny, this is the only thread I generally can count on people being nice to eachother on anymore. It's about the only one I check with any regularity. ” Sassafras 11:11:20 PM I've heard that Sass has girl cooties! ;-)” 8:11:18 AM 11/30/06 “sounds good to me nimblefoot. another inch of snow overnight, still snowing. 45 min of aerobics clearing the driveway.” 8:12:37 AM 11/30/06 “Well, the last day of November brought the coldest temperatures we've had here for the last 9 months...it was 2F when I woke up a couple of hours ago and now it's warmed to a balmy 6F...but, the sun is out so I'm feelin' good...hope you guys who are getting hit with tons of snow stay warm and safe....” 8:39:47 AM 11/30/06 “low 70's today. A front comes thru tonight, mid 40's in the mornig and low 30's by the end of the day. I have to go look at rebar for a 3rd floor concrete pour tomorrow afternoon. That'll be fun, but I dang sure don't comment on the site because you've got guys out there 10 hrs at a stretch working. They don't need to hear some pretty boy engineer out there for an hour complaining because it's hot or cold.” 8:57:27 AM 11/30/06 “Hi everyone, I'm home this morning, subbing in high school art this afternoon. I truly, truly hate this. I feel like I have no purpose in life right now. I don't even care about getting things done at home right now. Maybe its the weather that's got me in a funk. At least its gonna snow tomorrow and will turn the greyness to something pretty.” 9:28:44 AM 11/30/06 Lizs “Beads...? Funny, I was thinking exactly that. Time for a trip to the shrink, lol.” 9:48:02 AM 11/30/06 “Of course I have girl cooties. If I didn't I wouldn't be a girl. Stovestomper has stinky feet. Someone told me and all the other girls!=)” 12:03:18 PM 11/30/06 “It's better to have girl cooties than some of the other things going around this board. :P” 12:12:18 PM 11/30/06 “Treebait doesn't have girl cooties. She baked me cookies!” 12:14:25 PM 11/30/06 “Cookies, cooties, to a Republican they all spell and taste the same:)” 3:55:21 PM 11/30/06 “HA! Well, I'm going to be baking MORE cookies then treebait so :P---------” 3:57:11 PM 11/30/06 “GOOD MORNING!! Its my first official snow day as a certified teacher! Every school in mid-MI is closed today. Looks like its just raining right now, but it looks like cars on the main road in town are traveling slowly. The basketball hoop in the driveway looks icy. G is already back in bed, and I'll be back asleep on the couch shortly. Winter storm warnings are awesome! Stay save everyone who is in the middle of this system. Hope your day is a good one! 141 school closings in mid-MI, to be exact. last edited: 12/01/06 6:26:27 AM” 6:22:26 AM 12/01/06 “Looks like if you want snow you haveta be south or east of Wisconsin...I remember ice skating to school once when I lived in Michigan...also having my VW bug buried completely in snow...it took 3 days to find it but then, everything was closed down for 3 days and that was in East Lansing!” 6:39:14 AM 12/01/06 “HA! Well, I'm going to be baking MORE cookies then treebait so :P---------” Spirit Coyote 4:57:11 PM 11/30/06 I refuse to fall into this trap! All we have is rain still. I was really hoping for an ice day for Birch and Abby. I'm getting the house ready for decorating and it would've been fun to have everyone around.Enjoy your day off SG and Gordy! Getting ready to draw Christmas ornament names here in a minute.” 7:03:01 AM 12/01/06 “I am so glad it is Friday! Been a busy week at work. Sounds like a day without snow here. Roads a still slick though. ”7:20:47 AM 12/01/06 “I was going to drive out to the Smokies and visit an art gallery today but chickened out because of rain bands. I'll go tomorrow with HPM, but I'll be dealing with tourons the entire way.” 7:37:21 AM 12/01/06 “I don't know how cold it is, but my brrrook is frozen over. Today is Tractor 101 day. A friend is coming over to teach me how to operate my (new) 1950 Ford Tractor so I can plow my driveway this winter. I hope he gets here before the snow:)” 7:38:26 AM 12/01/06 “Now that would be worth watching, Nimble.” 7:40:31 AM 12/01/06 “Just a dusting of snow here. Sunshine started putting up the tree and decorations last night, bah to that. They were making snow on the ski hill yesterday. Seems they can't wait for mother nature” 8:17:08 AM 12/01/06 Hey Nowslimmer... “Just wonderin' about you, pal. How you doin', buddy? Hope your health and spirits are good. No particular reason to ask, just wanted to make sure you're okay. Absolutely no motive, I guarantee it.” 9:03:05 AM 12/01/06 “snow shmoe, this is pathetic! I was hopeing for a snow shoe day :( Its been snowing an entire hour now and though the flakes are big and heavy, its pretty much melting...... :( Last night there was black ice on the road. My rear drive non-anti-lock breaks didn't like that very much... I did ok, but skidded around some. I imagine my drive into twork this morning is going to be worse....very sloppy.” 9:14:33 AM 12/01/06 Hugs. “Good morning. Nimblefoot - Right, no reason at all: The snow has not started in Melbourne, yet! Have a great day. ”10:20:32 AM 12/01/06 “Spalpeen, that snow making equipment on Ripley is still new enough they're probably dying to make snow! Can't believe its not white up there yet. Oh, how I miss da U.P.!” 10:49:59 AM 12/01/06 “Smiley, they have snow in the Keewenaw but We are in Iron Mt. now” 11:23:55 AM 12/01/06 Paul.... “O' ye of little faith... Btw, I am now a tractor whiz (no it doesn't mean I pee'd on my tractor). I now have all the necessary skills to plow my long driveway this winter. Yeaaaaa, let it snow.” 11:25:27 AM 12/01/06 YEEEEEE HAW!!!!!! “ ”11:29:26 AM 12/01/06 “My Professor of Tractorology 101 just warned me about that, lol.” 2:08:48 PM 12/01/06 6:11:56 AM 12/02/06 “Good morning! It's a lovely cold day in SE Michigan. Got a little dusting of snow (better than none). Have been having a hard time making ourselves get, or stay, out of bed long enough to put more logs on the fire at night. It gets a bit chilly here by morning (55°). Heats up pretty quick though. On the agenda today: Work....more work....unpack the Christmas trees and get them ready to decorate tomorrow. You all have a wonderful Saturday!” 8:07:42 AM 12/02/06 Jump to Page << prev
