Good morning. My, what a great smile you have.

What a difference a stick can make. I went to a Mall Restaurant yesterday with my daughter and grand-daughter. Disabled parking was full, so I had to walk a little further than normal. Decided to use my new hiking stick. It really helped. The extra stability let me move right along at a good clip, including the crossing of a curb-street obstacle. Even my daughter commented that I was walking much better.

A cane might be a good investment. But they are for old people and I don't feel qualified, yet.

Enjoy your day.

Good morning, it's a rainy day here and my day hike with Capn Bobo at Hickory Run State park got rained out. We'll try again on a day with better weather. Looks like a good day to fire up the sewing machine and make some hiking gear.

Morning all. I got back from driving all over hell's half acre for the past week; I'm almost done getting ready for yet another open house this afternoon.

Yesterday was shorts weather here, about 78. Today it's about 57 with a good northerly wind. Yikes.

Morning! Gonna be a busy week. Lots of appointments, getting ready to leave next Saturday to go to Kansas, lots of stuff going on in the evenings like city council meetings and parent teacher conferences. I wouldn't mind doing our weekend all over again.

Have a good day everyone!

Ha! I'm happy if I can make it to and from the car. However, I did go the local pool hall for a spell last night and flirted with some of the young chicks there. Guess your great uncle missed some. They did like my new hiking stick.

Still holding at 52°F., but it should start warming. The sun just popped out over some distant clouds. Time to hit the Resource Cafe. Free coffee and I believe some blueberry muffins will be there this morning.

Had the stomach flu last week, what fun that was. Wife and I are on vacation all week and headed to the campground for a week of tentin and exploring. Should be cool at nights (40's) and in the sixties during day...nice. You all have a good week.

Morning...

Back at work with post-election wrap-up (hey, we're a weekly that went to press last Tuesday, in case you're thinking this is way late)

Spent Thursday night/Friday at a seminar in St. Cloud on covering courts and crime. Came home to see we all got a ton of snow. AAACK!!! LOL!

Attended a 25th anniversary party, which was fun. (Geez, had the ex and I stayed married -- instead of lasting 6.5 years -- it would have been 25 years this year!)

And a little geocaching in the steenkin' snow yesterday.

Welcome to the work week and have a good one.

mornin'!

I love long weekends!

Saturday we made soap, bath gel, lip balm, and sachets with kids from the twiglets classes. Saturday night 4 extra kids slept over (total 6) and had SO much fun they can't wait to do it again...haha me!

Sunday night I zonked out around 9pm...

It was agreat time...we planned another day to do christmas ornaments.

I've done it before, so I have the stuff and the recipes. I think if you google homemade bath gel you'll get a recipe - takes gelatin, hot water and soap as far as I remember...
Or, I'm bringing the recipe in tomorrow for one of the moms, and I can post it.

There were several things we didn't get to, like bath salts, bath oil, bath fizzies...and I made bath beads that came out very strange, LOL...

you talkin' to me, Lizs??

the recipe I had for the bath beads was wrong (I hadn't tried it before) and after I mixed it up I noticed that the amount of liquid was equal to the amount of dry ingredients (was supposed to be dough like) and it kept growing until we had to get a bigger bowl, but I wouldn't give up...

the next day my neighbors dog thought he wanted to eat one, but spit it out, so now I'm afraid to use them in the bath...

I had another recipe that said to microwave shavings from a bar of Ivory soap for 30 seconds. Go ahead and try that!

Course, I was using dollar store Ivory soap, so I'm going to try it again tonight with other Ivory soap just in case there is a difference. Trying to find a cheaper way around the $10/2lb blocks of soap I've been using, plus maybe add some interesting designs to the soap.

Thursday night I felt fine. I began coughing on Friday and by Saturday I didn't much care if I was alive or dead...flu...a bit better on Sunday but still not able to hold down anything but water; I stayed an extra night at Prosecutor's...it was great to meet new TTers but I am really getting tired of constant health issues...

Next time I'm in Trego is would be nice to meet you, Nimblefoot...isn't it you who lives there?

Yup, it's me and visiting with you would be my pleasure. I went out to NF estates last night and met with the out of state seller. He's a retired Army dude, about 10 years younger than I. We walked the property together and the boundaries stretch out further in all directions than I previously believed. As a result of our meeting he threw in a 1990 3/4 ton pickup, one of the cast iron/claw foot bath tubs, air compressor and a lot of fancy gear for the old tractor (that I don't understand). Looks like I'm going to have to buy some bib overalls. Hope your feeling better.

Morning all!

I spent yesterday learning new ways to make folks feel better. Also got to stand before city council and be questioned regarding what exactly I do. Sometimes I have the most awful urges to lie through my teeth and say things just to get a rise out of folks. This was one of those times. I toed the line though and will be licensed soon.

Sass, I understand your dilemma at the city council meeting. Unfortunately, I've never cared enough to even attempt resisting the urge. Also, it (the building) was originally a chicken coop, but it was rehabbed a few times and bears no current resemblance.

Bath Jelly Recipe - by Amy Vollmer
1/2 cup melted transparent Melt & Pour base
2 cups water
1 envelope Knox unflavored Gelatin
1/2 oz Germaben II (I didn’t use this)
Fragrance oil
3 or 4 colorants
3 or 4 small containers

Pour envelope of Gelatin into a bowl and set aside. Microwave 2 cups of water until boiling. Gently pour into the bowl of gelatin and stir until completely dissolved. In the meantime melt the M&P in the microwave. Add fragrance oil to the melted M&P. Slowly pour the soap into the Gelatin and stir gently. When mixed thoroughly, pour into individual containers and color. Place uncovered containers in the refrigerator until firm.

Empty Playdoh containers work perfectly and Bath Jelly can be colored to match the lids! Kids have a blast with this jelly. They can scoop it out and toss into running water, paint the tub and themselves, glob onto a scrunchie or washcloth and even bathe with it! The possibilities are endless!

Morning, all.

I'm back to substitute teaching this week. Let the fun begin. G and I had a pretty long talk on Sunday about what I really wanted to do next - stay home to have/be with kids, or find a full-time job. I'm pretty sure which way I want to go, but its hard to let go of the other stuff. Interesting dilemma. Why can't things just fall into place perfectly?

Nothing else new. Oh, we finally got internet at home, so as long as G didn't mess up the security stuff too much, I should be able to post from home now! Yea

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Good Morning Yall...is a glummy Wednesday in the Mountains of WNC. It is overcast but not real chilly...kinda nice actually. As much as I hate to see fall go I love seeing the leaves dancing about.
