I make my own lattes sometimes, although I don't have an espresso maker. I grind light roast coffee beans and green cardamon pods together until they're dust, then brew that pretty strong. Spmetimes I heat the milk first, other times I just add it cold so the resulting brew is chuggable. Adding the cardamon makes a heck of a difference. Mexican cinnamon is a really good addition, too.

sounds like you're making "chai"-flavored coffee, treebeastie...do you know about Coffeemates Chai creamer...I love Mexican hot chocolate...nothing like cinnamon to bring out the flavor of cocoa or hot chocolate...

Good morning, world...huh? nobody up yet? oh well...I wish you a good one anyway when you DO struggle up from your comfy beds....

Good morning.

You're right, matahairyhellion, it is a struggle for me to get up and I do have a comfy bed. It is after 7:00 and it is still nighttime outside. Civil Twilight is just starting. Sunrise is at 7:24 AM EDT. I looking forward to todays thunder storms,
Enjoy your wonderful day.

Good morning! Not so much going today. Have to meet w/ the kindergarten teacher to talk about the halloween party. Should be fun.

Some work this afternoon. Not much doing today. Lousy weather again, I think. Looks like it's going to be lousy all week. At least it's not too cold w/ the rain. Glad I have two books waiting on me.

I woke up to 2 little icy feet pressing against my back at 7:15, so no sleep-in for me. Laurel, however, is back in her bed and snoozing again. Lucky. We had a 10 minute rain shower here; that's the most rain we've had in nearly a month.

Hairy, I do like chai a lot. I'm not too keen on nondairy creamers, although I'm willing to give that stuff a try. It might be best for travelling or car camping. GFIC's instant chai latte is okay, but some flavor component goes bad quickly, leaving it with a soapy flavor. Bleah.

I'm trying to decide what to do first this morning. I think I'll go do the fun parts first, like hitting the book store to pick up a silly book, and then to Reeds and Rocks, to pick up more aquatic plants.

It's probably my last day to wear shorts and flip flops to the office until late March or early April. We have a high of 85 here today.

It was a great weekend just laying in bed, being waited on and watching football or playing football on PS2. I'm not even walking funny anymore.

Good Morning! It's a balmy 51° here. Let the fire go out yesterday and won't light it again today.

I am finding myself with more work than ever. While I'm excited my business is finally taking off and I'm contributing more financially, I'm sore. I woke up with hands aching and back groaning. I'm going to have to do something.

Have a wonderful day.

Sass - what you need is........a good massuese (sp?)

Summer 05 we went on a belated 10th anniv trip to Jamaica. We had a couples massage on the beach. It was under palm trees. They had 4 tables and the other couple getting there were some folks on their honeymoon that we ran into later. He was a massage therapist, but that was the first time he'd ever had one himself. I thought that was odd. Hey, I think I want to do "X" for a career, I train for months or years, but I've never actually experienced what I'm training for? Now that I type that, it might not be such a good example. I doubt many brain surgeons have themselves experienced the business end of brain surgery. I'll shut up now.
dayhiker

Nope, it is weird. Most massage therapy schools teach in a hands on manner; you work on eachother. If he didn't experience a massage before he probably didn't go to school. There are 14 states that have no licensing...anyone can say they are a massage therapist and start working. Michigan is one of them. We're working on that though. The only way to make sure a massage therapist is trained is to ask if they are nationally certified. You have to attend a school to sit for the certification.

I used to get worked on every two weeks. Our insurance covered it then. I trade with a guy from school now but just haven't gotten around to calling him for an apt. I should do that. Good suggestion Dayhiker!

Today I get to be fingerprinted so I can have a city license. I'm not sure why exactly. I also get to pay $115 for the honor. Nex week I get to go to my doctor and get tested for communicable diseases. =(
I know I don't have any, as I get tested every year at my physical. I have to have the tests w/in a week of applying for my license. That's another $10, equalling $125. That's two hour massages.....for a dumb piece of paper.

Yep, better stop while it's safe, Dayhiker! ;P

No nice sunrise here; just an extension of the gray. It drizzled on and off for most of the day yesterday. The front is essentially stalled over us. I hate that, because the low pressure makes me drowsy.

Supposedly the photographer who handles the "virtual tour" of the house is coming by today, although I haven't heard jack from the realtor about this yet. So as soon as I'm done with this cup of coffee, it's back to cleaning and tidying. I don't mind the cleaning part. I enjoy that. It's the tidying that kills me.

The sky had a pinky hue this morning and the fog was dancing about..kinda teasing me, not letting me see what was behind the curtain. However the closer I got to town it was completly foggy and no pretty sky. It really didn't matter though because the trees around town are AWESOME..I can't put into words their beauty. The fog seems to bring out the color.

Hugs to all

I slept in today. It's officially the weekend. Leaving for Toronto this afternoon. Making dinner for friends who just had a baby before going, homemade pizza, etc.

Today is the anniversary of a dear friend's death in Iraq. If anyone feels like it please say a prayer for Mary and Brian today. It's been three years since Brian's had a Daddy. He's 8 now.

Have a great weekend everyone!

BTW, the police station doesn't use ink for fingerprinting anymore. They have a fancy computer that scans the prints!

Happy weekend, everyone! G's speaking at a conference tomorrow, so we're headed back to metro Detroit. Going to celebrate his mom's birthday, too.

Ok, I'm outta here...time to go home, do laundry, and clean the house. The fun never ends!

Smiley - I'm a Tigers fan this week too. I live in the same town as the Tigers closer. His kids go to the same school as mine. He's super involved in the community. Last football season a kid was paralyzed in the season opener. My understanding is that the Tigers player built this boy and his family a new home.

I did too, LZ! Over near Killington, on that trail by the Inn at Long Trail. The ground had a pretty good covering of snow at at the top of the mountain, but it started raining and by the time we were back down, it had all melted. I was soaked! But then I inhaled some nachos, and it was all better. Where did you go?
