Maybe he's a politician looking for votes. With visits that infrequent, we can't very well call him a troll. Well, I'm going to watch TV. One of those programs should put me back to sleep.” 3:09:17 AM 9/07/06 “yawn...good morning...bring on the coffee...have a good day...yawn...” 4:46:48 AM 9/07/06 “Pathman it sounds like you did find paradise. =) Nowslimmer, I was just teasing you. Eat what you want. I get a massage today! And there's two massages to give. No tile work until tonight, late (if Birch can stand it), or tomorrow.” 7:28:03 AM 9/07/06 “didn't get up till 5 this morning. had a meeting at 6 so didn't get to yell early. hope to hike with you again soon nowslimmer. maybe on your next trip north?” 7:30:07 AM 9/07/06 “We had an incredible lightning storm over the area last night. It went on way over an hour, just constant flashes and growling thunder. Just amazing. Then, before dawn, there was a really good explosion somewhere around here. It was much more than your usual squirrel blowing the fuse on the pole. My still mostly asleep brain thought someone tried to blow up the Atlantic Blvd. bridge over the intracoastal. Since that wasn't all over the news I figure that wasn't the case. I'm still trying to wake up here. Bleary watery eyes and a sinus headache aren't helping matters much.” 7:35:07 AM 9/07/06 “NFL regular season starts tonight? Did I hear that? morning all. Where ya been chappy? Sass, I've been looking for my "best place" to live since I lived in Boulder CO as a kid. this is pretty close, hope to stay! A little hot and dry in the summer, it surprised me that the hot period lasted so long.” 7:42:23 AM 9/07/06 Hugs. “Good morning. Hope you're all happy. Weather talk! I can do that with the best of them. Hot, you don't hot unless you lived in the pre-A/C days of Chicago or central Illinois. Cold in the 48, I found that while living in Minnesota winters. And for something different I've experienced years in the tropics in the Republic of Panama as well as in the Bering Sea near Siberia. Severe weather: walking backwards to and from school in Chicago. They did not cancel school in those days. And there were numerous typhoons with seas running 60 to 70 feet and winds of 115 mph and up. Talk about fun at sea. Well, it's sunny outside this morning, sunny and quite warm. Have a great day and don't let the weather get you down.” 8:09:59 AM 9/07/06 Edited second edition: Hugs. “Sorry, I thought I was using "pre-view." So I ran past the 10-minute, cut-off for editing. I like this version better, so I posted it. Good morning. Hope you're all happy. Weather talk! I can do that with the best of them. Hot, you don't hot unless you lived in the pre-A/C days of Chicago or central Illinois. Cold in the 48, I found that while living in Minnesota winters. Then, there was life in tornado alley at Tulsa, Oklahoma, and being snowbound for three days in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Well, it's sunny outside this morning, sunny and quite warm. Have a great day and don't let the weather get you down. P.s. As for Chappy, he's been busy posting his bag nights on some troll's thread, again, thinking that he'll get credit for them. Good luck, Chappy. last edited: 9/07/06 8:33:23 AM” 8:29:12 AM 9/07/06 Happy Anniversary “Today is me and my hubby's 21st Anniversary! Wooo hooo...!!! Who the heck would of thought we would of made it that long!!!” 9:10:25 AM 9/07/06 “crazygurl - You're married! And you were going to meet me for coffee! Boy, you sure don't know me. I'm not to be trusted. Wow, leading me on like that! No wonder you're called "crazygurl." Oh well, I'll still buy you a cup of coffee, but no doughnuts! LOL. I knew. You told me near the beginning a possible stormy relationship. That's why it never got stormy and why I never called you from the Farmer's Market during all these years. Congratulations and I wish you much future happiness. last edited: 9/07/06 9:33:16 AM” 9:29:48 AM 9/07/06 “Thanks NS...there are storms in all relationships!” 10:18:55 AM 9/07/06 “Ours never even got a shower!” 10:27:25 AM 9/07/06 “Okay, I'm sick of dragging all day. I just fired up the coffee pot. Hmmm,,,,just doesn't have the same ring to it as when Robin Williams did it in Good Morning Vietnam.” 6:06:08 AM 9/08/06 Hugs. “Good morning. The sun should just be rising(7:03), but Melbourne is overcast. However, it appears to be a great day to start a beautiful weekend. Have a good one.” 6:06:14 AM 9/08/06 “Morning everyone. Today is the day my wife and I move out of the box we call a home. Free beer to whoever wants to carry stuff.” 6:50:25 AM 9/08/06 Good morning all “Cooler weather around here finally. Riding my bike regularly and getting ready for hikes. Got one tomorrow. Coffee's good, wife's still in bed. All's quiet and peaceful.” 6:52:59 AM 9/08/06 “ "wife's still in bed. I thought I was going to have to turn on the heater.” 7:08:07 AM 9/08/06 “go ahead, chili, rub it in........;p” 7:13:01 AM 9/08/06 “Gorgeous Friday morning in SE MI. It's grout day, wooo-hooo! 'First bus ride to school day too. We lucked out and got a good friend as a bus driver. Takes some of the scariness out of the ride w/o mom and dad. I'm loving this kindergarten stuff.” 7:33:07 AM 9/08/06 “Grumble. Puppy woke us up at 4:30am. As wife had to go into work, I got up. I think we picked the wrong one of the litter. Very active. |-}” 7:53:36 AM 9/08/06 “Puppies can be that way. So can kids. What variety of dog? I've been getting Laurel to bed at a respectable hour, rather than HPM time. As a result, Laurel's waking me up before the alarm even goes off. This morning I was assailed by ice-cold feet against the small of my back. Yikes.” 8:01:44 AM 9/08/06 “He's a 14 week old minature schnauzer. Usually he gives us to 5:58. Alarm clock is set for 6:30--who needs it? :-)” 8:10:47 AM 9/08/06 “My son's 18 week lab does it to him all the time. Get's his butt out of bed. :D” 8:12:37 AM 9/08/06 “The weather is so awesome around here this week. I can't get backpacking off my mind. it has been too long and will be too long before my next trip on the 22. Hope the weather holds out. So glad fall is here.” 8:27:20 AM 9/08/06 “'Taint fall yet here, not until around Thanksgiving anyways. We usually note Sept, 10, which is the peak of the hurricane season. Weird. I'm having problems getting spacing correct in this post.” 8:30:06 AM 9/08/06 Happy Friday “Good Morning all! It is a wonderful day in the mountains of Western NC! Is a bit overcast but I can feel the nip of fall in the air!!! BRING IT ON!!!” 8:52:27 AM 9/08/06 Hugs. “Good morning. Wow, you look beautiful this morning. How would you like to go for a hike on this fantastic day? It's just too nice to stay indoors. My knees are definitely better. I can tell by the fact that they held up for 4 to 4½ hours at the pool table yesterday. That is more than double my usually time playing. And I'm shooting better(not good, but better), as I'm more comfortable standing. I thought that I would never recover to this stage. I feel that I have to credit this improvement to the antibiotic I took for my kidney infection. Now, if my kidney is OK on a scan on the 21st, I'll be headed back to the mountains for the fall colors along some trails. Some of my Chinese relatives are leaving for China on the 20th. It appears that I'll have to miss this trip. One has said that she'll pay for my airline ticket, if I go to China. With free lodging as well, I sure want to go with some of these relations by a previous marriage. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. last edited: 9/09/06 4:53:51 AM” 4:52:49 AM 9/09/06 “good morning all...nowslimmer, I'd jump at a chance to go to China...4 hours at pool? not too shabby! I'm looking forward to my BWCA trip a week from today...stoked to stroke!” 8:36:15 AM 9/09/06 Hugs. “Good morning. The sun is shining brightly about 15-degreees above the ocean. Should've closed the windows last night. Got the kiddo a down comforter (clearance at Target wooohoooo!), and she tried it out last night. She's hooked on her "feather blanket". Can't wait until I can get mine out. Flea market this morning at our city's little historical village, called Greenmead. Birch is in school today until 3:30. Just got done bagging a meal I dehydrated last night: Wild rice, smoked chicken, brocolli, onions, pecans, celery, shredded apples, cranberries and cream of celery soup, mushrooms, and it seems like there was something else too..... well, it takes forever to make and is a treat. I hope it turns out well when rehydrated. Strawberry rhubarb pie for breakfast. =) Have a great Sunday. last edited: 9/10/06 7:35:55 AM” 7:35:11 AM 9/10/06 “holy #&%!$.....im never drinking again. ugh....” 9:01:25 AM 9/10/06 “I cant remember everything we all did last night, but there are a few crazy pictures on my camera this morning.... ”9:06:59 AM 9/10/06 “hell yeah....i have a nice view ofthe throne this morning...UGH. thank god for asprin too. LOL.. Good morning crew...grey, damp and cool outside...mtnsteve had the right idea yesterday...hugs all round!” 10:01:55 AM 9/10/06 “sunny, 70's and no hangover. There will be a hike or bike in my afternoon. Unless I fall asleep watching football.” 11:24:31 AM 9/10/06 “Scored big at the flea market! Antique: crome clothes line (retractable deal that mounts on the laundry room wall), clothespin bag, moonstone hobnail butter dish, silver colored metal mesh bracelet with owl-shaped clasp, and the best of all, an oak child's roll-top desk w/ chair. All for $48!!” 11:34:10 AM 9/10/06 “Sass, you scored! (does birch know?) Good deals :)” 11:35:32 AM 9/10/06 “Ha ha, the view from my sleeping bag Saturday morning was of a certain Bobo! EarthNsky was in his little tent with no fly but we two slept by the light of the moon on the Maryland Appalachian Trail just south of Old Route 40. Well, we were just off the trail.” 11:43:39 AM 9/10/06 “Yep, just told him. He's pretty excited about the desk. That sounds great MarkO. I have to wait almost 2 weeks before I get to go anywhere. It should be worth the wait though.” 11:51:45 AM 9/10/06 “Sass, I didn't do any real hikin'. I met those guys there Friday night and we had a nice time by the moon light caterwaulin' and abusing guitars until about 2 AM. The site is about 1/3 mile walk in. I packed in a tent, bag, matress, small cooler and big guitar. Saturday morning after a buffet breakfast I dropped the guys off at the Md/Pa line. That little trip only made me ache for some real trail trippin'.” 11:59:33 AM 9/10/06 “Yeah sass, you KNOW those easterners don't hike ;)” 12:00:52 PM 9/10/06 “Shoot, neither do I. ;)” 12:28:52 PM 9/10/06 “ “Yeah sass, you KNOW those easterners don't hike ;)”That may be true, but somehow we do get "bag nights!"” 12:31:14 PM 9/10/06 “Bag 'em if ya got 'em!” 12:35:42 PM 9/10/06 “Hi everyone, I don't get here much anymore. Soon, it'll be even less. :( We get the keys to our new house this Friday! I CANNOT wait! I can barely stand being in this apartment anymore. Its going to be a busy two weeks ahead - with the painting that will take place next weekend, and the actual moving the following weekend. Add in those 12-14 hour days I've been working, and G should think I'm a real treat to be around. :) Autofest weekend here in Frankenmuth - 3,000 classic cars registered. Its like nothing I've ever seen before. Friday night town is closed off and the cars park, folks walk up and down Main Street and look at the cars. Saturday, the cars are at the park all day, and they cruise Main Street at night. We went down there and sat on a bench to watch the cars. Kinda fun. Today, we can still hear music from the park, and lots of squealing tires. Next weekend is Octoberfest, and hopefully between the painting we can go down there for a few beverages. The weekend after that is Blues Bash, but we'll be back down Birch and Sass's way picking up the rest of my things in the U-haul. Fun stuff, this moving is! HOpe everyone has a great week. Get those bag nights and hiking in - the weather is so wonderful this time of year!” 12:39:21 PM 9/10/06 Jump to Page << prev
