You fill up the pot with cold water, stick the eggs in, and bring it to a boil. As soon as it's at a rolling boil, you turn off the heat and let them sit for 10-15 minutes, depending on how done you like them. 10 is plenty. Then you rinse them in cold water, and they're done! They always come out good. The thing that drives me insane about hard-boiled eggs is when the shell sticks to the inside layer of the egg, and you can't get the shell off w/out peeling off half the egg with it. It doesn't seem to have to do with the way I cook it, because I always do it the same way, and the shells only stick like half the time.
