Good Morning!
Never a good sign when coffee doesn't taste good (unless it's nasty coffee).

Abby's Easter party at school this a.m. The kid won a jar full of 2090 jelly beans over the weekend. We have more jelly beans than I've ever wanted at once.

Sunny and 56° today!!

Oh yeah, and now she's letting everyone know that they are HER jelly beans. I decorated sugar cookies with them for her party ths morning (trying in vain to knock the bean level down an inch or two), and the little rat had the nerve to complain about me using her beans. maybe we'll plant some jelly beans in her garden this year. Mooohahahaha!

I did that once when I was little. The squirrels had a field day digging all the jelly beans out of my mom's flower beds, then running around hopped up on all that sugar.

good morning folks, my coffee tastes just fine, probably cause it's STARBUCKS........haha. Sun is a-shinin' here and about 46 degrees, cool. Had good meetings Saturday with the FS and our club. I was voted in as VP, so now I'm officially empowered to be ignored. Anyway, the hard parts and 'issues' were effectively dealt with and then we all went for burgers. We also got a plaque from the FS for all our volunteer work on the trails. Now back to work. l8rz.

Yep, high of 76° expected here and today is my first day of work. I'll be out of there by 2:30 and don't have to be there until 10:30am. Still not sure about this place but I'm going to give it a try...(must change my attitude or doomed to failure).

It was okay Divinity. Birch put it best when he said I'm about as far outside of my comfort zone as I've ever been in a job. I rent space in a clinic, basically. A bunch of other massage therapists rent too along with a psychic and hypnotherapist. There are healing crystals and incense all over the place and I don't really know what to think about all that mumbo jumbo. The pyschic lady was in yesterday too and looks the part perfectly. It's just weird for me. I went from a totally clinical atmosphere to a place that is absolutely opposite. I'm going to hang in for awhile (at least a month) and see how it goes. Trying to have an open mind, lol.

Hey, nothing like a freshly sacrificed chicken for the soup pot!

GOod morning everyone! We're leaving for Deep Creek tomorrow morning and I haven't done a single thing to get ready for the trip. Oopsie! Guess I better get cracking!

It also looks like we may have a slow leak in our just about finished pond (@%@$%@%@*&!!!) and that'll be no fun to track down. Oh well, looks like I crawl around on the ground again feeling for moist dirt around the pipe joints.

Good morning!!

Sun is shining here, it's going to be a gorgeous day. Hoping that it will last til Sunday. I hate it when the bunny has to hide eggs inside.

I helped Birch load up the kayaks last night. Come 3:00 we'll be on our way to our favorite lake in the area. Can't wait.

Have to boil eggs today. I can cook and I think I do a pretty good job of it, but for the life of me I cannot boil a decent egg. They always crack or have that yucky grey ring around the yolk. Today I will find instructions on how to boil an egg.
Sassafras

YAY, sounds fun, I wish I had a kayak. :-)

I know how to make good eggs, Sassypoo! You fill up the pot with cold water, stick the eggs in, and bring it to a boil. As soon as it's at a rolling boil, you turn off the heat and let them sit for 10-15 minutes, depending on how done you like them. 10 is plenty. Then you rinse them in cold water, and they're done! They always come out good.

The thing that drives me insane about hard-boiled eggs is when the shell sticks to the inside layer of the egg, and you can't get the shell off w/out peeling off half the egg with it. It doesn't seem to have to do with the way I cook it, because I always do it the same way, and the shells only stick like half the time. Someone told me it has to do with how fresh the eggs are...or something.

That's exactly what I do Lyra. Maybe I need to use a heavier pot or something. I'll give that a try.

Fresh eggs are so much yummier. Birch took Abby to his friend's farm two weekends ago and she brought back a dozen eggs she'd collected. They were delicious!

I closed on the sale of my house last Friday, signed a contract on another yesterday. I'm moving again on the 1st of May. Nuts? Absolutely, but the price and situation was just too good to pass up. The good news: almost everything is still in boxes and my sciatica is gone. The weather is great again today, so I'll be headed for another long walk.

What's the vinegar do?
Sassafras
8:55:25 AM
4/13/06

I think vinegar is supposed to keep the whites from running out if the eggs do crack...which wouldn't really make any difference if they're for Easter eggs, since any cracks would ruin them.

I boiled an egg for lunch after the gym, too...but then I forgot to pay attention to when it boiled, LOL! Wellll at least it won't be underdone. ;-)

Hey Sas, instead of boiling the eggs you can take a needle, and poke small holes in each end of the egg, then blow the entire egg out through the hole. The advantage of this is if the kiddies make a really good one, you can keep it indefinately. My Mom has some that are probably 20 years old. note: this does take some pucker power if you dont want the holes to be very big.

Good morning!!
That's a good idea Meangreen. I make Xmas ornaments out of eggs so I know how to blow them out. I never thought about doing it for Easter eggs. Even the Hungarian eggs I've made in the past have been whole.
But, we do have to have deviled eggs on Easter so hard boiled is necessary.
The sample egg from yesterday was good.

Upluver and Dhutch are coming over today!! They're racing a race Birch is that's in the area, and so we get their company for tonight, tomorrow and the eary hours of Easter. Gonna be a fun weekend =D.
