Good morning! I've been running around cleaning for a while now but it certainly needed to be done. I went to make myself some coffee this morning only to discover I never cleaned out the filter basket. Bleah! On an interesting side note I have a new variety of mold growing in it; greenish grey instead of the usual white. This could be becasue I've been adding Mexican cinnamon and green cardamon pods when I grind my beans. Whatever the case it's now dead.

Since you probably drank some of the coffee, by now it is likely there is some growing good inside of you. Do you experience any difficulty swallowing, yet?

Afternoon, everyone.

I'll have to start posting on the Good Night thread, since I start student teaching next week and won't have time to post in the morning.

We are finally seeing the sun in MI today! Its a gorgeous day, even if it is bitter cold out! The wind is brutal. I wasn't prepared for the cold while I was on campus this morning. Oh well!

Have a great day, and a great weekend everyone! Divinity, have a lovely time with your family!

Good Morning all,

Hot here in the desert, broke the record for yesterday by 3 degrees, same predicted for today.

Several gallons of chili on the stove, serving up at Ronald McDonald House tonight. Also learned that I don't really like cornbread, unless someone comes up with a better recipe than I've been using.

Happy Day.

I highly recommend asking your twenty year old to find somewhere else to live. It's amazing how much we start to appreciate our parents when we're on our own, buying our own food, etc, etc.

Chappy - Having just finsihed eight years of being a college student's parent, I might be able to answer. Distance is the key! I believe you let him select a school that is too dclose to home. The school needs to out of weekend range. My distances for two sets of four years were 950 and 1,400 miles, one way! Tip, then you disconnect your long distance telephone service and buy them a pre-paid calling card for emergencies. Good luck.

Chappy - The distance one I learned after getting my first wife. Either live close to ties like parents and in-laws or out of easy weekend range. The telephone one I learned with the first of these last two experiences. It does save a lot of money, even thought here in Florida Southern Bell Telephone Company charges me extra for not having a long distance carrier!

The distance deal helps to remove some distractions for the student. With my last experience, after my daughter first arrived on campus, they had one meeting for just parents. The College President pointed out that it was time to "let go." It hurts, but it has to be done, sooner or later.
