Seems the bad asses have more rights than anyone these days.” 8:09:18 AM 11/28/05 “55 and raining in Chicago. Temp. is supposed to drop this afternoon, with a high temp of 38 tomorrow. Too bad I'm moving only 50 miles north. :-(” 8:11:01 AM 11/28/05 “It's raining and 43. Unusual for this late and I need cold and snow. I'm going to start my training for the Birkie today. It's only 3 months away. The current plan is lots of balance ball exercises, yoga, pilates, weights and a bunch of cardio. If we ever get snow I'll probably ski a little too. This is what I need, some structured training. I go nuts with nothing to do.” 8:14:42 AM 11/28/05 “What's the birkie?” 8:17:01 AM 11/28/05 “treebait, you guys are to low anyway. Y'all need to get higher.” StoveStomper 8:00:54 AM Dude, you're not any higher.” 8:17:31 AM 11/28/05 “Good morning. Can't you feel it___the Christmas Spirit in town. And the jingle of the cash registers. Some of the early Snowbirds have arrived here, too. Have a great day.” 6:12:21 AM 11/29/05 “Sass - The "Birkie" is this country's biggest Xcountry ski race. It will be held on 26 February. For me it's leg #2 of the Old Fart Trifecta. Good news: It's snowing right now.” 6:53:37 AM 11/29/05 “Cool! Good luck Nimblefoot. I didn't get to use my skis last winter. I'm hoping we'll be out on them often this year. I'd love to learn how to xc ski really well, doing those crazy leg dip turns and going down hills w/o ending up ass over teakettle, lol. Today my gramma heads home. I have to get over there for one more scrabble game before she gets on her airplane.” 6:58:10 AM 11/29/05 NowSlimmer “Snowbirds are invadin us too, but at least I get to talk to 'real' yankees again, sorta miss that and when they leave the locals tell me I pick up an accent (reverting to my old ways). "younz" have a great day!” 8:21:23 AM 11/29/05 “Funny thing Chappy; most of the snowbirds we get in our area are from Quebec.” 8:25:11 AM 11/29/05 “Quebec, I love Canada. Spent many summers there at Rice Lake just above Lake Ontario close to Petersborough (sp?) but that was in the 50's/60's when the Indians were still travelin the lake in their canoes. I still remember the hippies and all the pot parties that took place there. We had a blast! If only mom and dad knew ;)” 8:31:59 AM 11/29/05 “It's raining in beautiful, downtown Melbourne this morning. I just had a head scan. It was interesting. When the table moved into the scan area, like a tunnel, I worried a little about getting fried. Then, when that test was completed, I gave up some blood. I was two hours short of fasting for 12 hours, but they told me that 10 hours fasting was fine. Welcome to the system. However, Medicare had balked at a couple of the blood tests that my doctor had ordered. The tests to which they objected were Vitamin B12 (82607) and RPR (96592). So I had to sign forms and receive a lot of paperwork. They told me that they were getting 20-30 similar refections per day from Medicare. Sounds like a goveternment crackdown on those of us who a abusing the system. Hopefully, my secondary insurance company will pay. I'll be looking for the papers from them with interest. They no longer cover anything for me that is payable by Medicare. From some paperwork in the past, it looked like they may not cover anything that is not covered by Medicare! So I will be interested in what they do. Incidently, ever since Medicare started for me, I have not been able to track or understand my coverage. And yesterday I tried to get some understanding of the new drug coverage scheme of our administration. I got as far as a form which required a lot of personal information and concluded with a statement that I would be contacted by telephone at the "best contact time" that I had entered. Well, I don't welcome telephone calls. So I did not submit the form. Tomorrow I get to visit with a Neurologist. This is all part of a memory test/examination. My Internist said that I did real good on the first part of memory testing that she did with me. My short-term memory problems appear to be normal for someone growing old. Well, enough of my stuff. Don't forget(pun) to have a great day. last edited: 11/29/05 9:16:07 AM” 9:07:25 AM 11/29/05 an edit. “"refections" should be "rejections." I have to give a statment to the ASPCA Officer about a case I am working on. Not in the mood to relive it all again :( oh well its for the best.” 9:31:02 AM 11/29/05 Suffering Catfish! “Holy Mackerel! My Internist is checking my blood for: RPR (Syphilis) CPT Code: 86592 I should be so lucky. Yep, it would be great if everything worked.” 10:01:38 AM 11/29/05 “LOL, so bad news would actually be good news! There are some things us older types take well.” 2:13:08 PM 11/29/05 “ Winter is here in Melbourne, Florida. Currently: 66°F. Have an enjoyable day. last edited: 11/30/05 5:43:12 AM” 5:34:50 AM 11/30/05 “Houston, Texas, Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. Duluth, Minnesota, Light Snow, 12°, Scattered flurries before noon, then a chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 23. Chicago, Illinois, 27 °F., A few flurries...then becoming partly cloudy this morning. Highs in the middle 30s.” 6:00:29 AM 11/30/05 “It snowed about 2 inches yesterday and today is cold enough that it should stay. A couple of more snows and continued cold will make skiing possible. Coffee perks and beckons...” 6:09:30 AM 11/30/05 “I'm up, eating my oatmeal. Yum. I forgot how good it was to warm up with a bowl of oatmeal on a chilly morning. OK, off to school!” 6:19:12 AM 11/30/05 “Diboll, Tx. temp is 29 as I type. HEY, TODAY IS MY BDAY! One year older so that makes me 29 :) No, really I'm still a youngster at 52. Hey NowSlimmer, no one is bitin' on the offer to take your cup off my hands. I guess I'm gonna have to just send it to ya direct. Crap. Uh, I'm still drinkin coffee outta it so it might be a while.” 7:31:52 AM 11/30/05 “Happy Birthday, Chappy. Hope you have a great one. I just finished a bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar, a pat of butter and a little skim milk. Now I'm munching on some home made wheat bread toast. You got the right idea Smiley Girl.” 7:39:02 AM 11/30/05 “Happy Birthday, Chappy!” 7:40:19 AM 11/30/05 “Happy birthday Chappy! I had oatmeal ths morning too, cooked in milk w/ cinnamon and brown sugar and cranberries and honey roasted sunflower seeds.” 7:41:41 AM 11/30/05 “Funny, Laurel's having oatmeal too. I had multigrain toast that includes oats so I guess that counts.” 7:43:09 AM 11/30/05 “With a hook I can use it as a Christmas Tree Ornament. Join the exchange group. Today's the last day to enter. See the thread. Exchange names will be drawn tomorrow.” 7:44:05 AM 11/30/05 “Thanks folks, dang....that oatmeal sounds so good I'm gonna heat me up some too.....mmmmmm, Maple and Brown sugar............” 7:44:33 AM 11/30/05 “Are you all instant oatmeal eaters, or old-fashioned? I like my old-fashioned oats with just a bit of sugar and cinnamon. Add milk and water (I don't like it too thick) and cook 2 min in the microwave. Mmmm, does a body good!” 7:17:22 PM 11/30/05 “My current oat meal is old fashioned. Lately I've been adding brown sugar, a pat of butter and some skim milk. Today I may expand my horizons and try a little cinammon and half and half. It really does stick to my ribs and get me through that work out at the gym. Funny, I've always been such a bacon and eggs freak, but since returning from the AT I've been interested in other things for breakfast.” 5:54:51 AM 12/01/05 “Good morning all. Instant oatmeal here today. The weathermen around here all said it would stay in the 40's for our area last night. My neighbor's rooftops are all glittering with frost now. I turned the heat on downstairs to warm the house up to 65 for Laurel and some tropical plants.” 7:37:46 AM 12/01/05 “grass and fallen leaves and branches are glistening with a nip o' frost this morning....what a beautiful cloudless day so far. made some 8 grain oatmeal muffins (reds mill mix)....o my! i love vacations at home.... practicing lollygagging today. you lovelys have fun whatever you get into or out in today! dont forget to look up at least once!” 8:30:07 AM 12/01/05 “Hi Om!” 8:51:47 AM 12/01/05 “Good morning. thanks, treebait and om, you reminded me that it is chilly this morning, so I just reached down and turned on a heater. The weather bureau at the Melbourne Airport, a block away, reported 54°F. sunny, fair and a high today to be 68. I wonder what they mean by "fair?" It looks like a great day on TT. Nigal and Sarge are already at it. I compared some TT posters to vinegarroons in that they stink when disturbed. Nigal got upset and suggested that I use the ignore feature. But then I would miss all the fun. Have a great day, folks.” 8:52:46 AM 12/01/05 “Good morning, all you happy people. Brrr. 46°F. in Melbourne, Florida, going to only 67 today. But tomorrow it will return to the mid-70's. Duluth reports 7 --> 15 Houston 52 --> 68, chance of rain Chicago 14 --> 29, Seven hurt as SUV rams Loop building Maryville, TN, 29°F. --> 45°F. Dishing up victories: - Maryville coaches have eaten their way to success "a plastic spoon has become much more coveted than a silver one." "...since we started going out to eat on Tuesday nights, our record is (82-2)" Have a wonderful weekend.” 5:44:49 AM 12/02/05 “24° here. Brrrr, and windy too. Didn't feel like making the old fashioned oats today, so just cereal. Birch has a race tomorrow and the high is expected to be 30°. I think it's a 6-8 hour race and he has to kayak too. (crazy!) Have wonderful weekends everyone!” 6:36:12 AM 12/02/05 “Hey, I'm happy.......or is it the caffein talkin? Anyway it's 37 outside with a chance of rain tonight. Oh yeah, Lufkin, Tx. You know, my Grandparents lived in Bradenton, Fl. for about nine years. I went down there a couple times in the late 60's (gas=21-22 cents a gallon). We fished Manatee Bay and I caught a stingray once that I thought would break my wrist tryin to get it in the boat. Grandad decided to smack it off with an oar.” 6:41:59 AM 12/02/05 “-5 Windchill here, this AM. Ice on along the lake shore. Too early for that!” 7:19:08 AM 12/02/05 “WHOA! the temp just dropped two degrees to 35 in 15 minutes??????????????????...but the sun's comin up?” 7:19:30 AM 12/02/05 “Good morning. Trying to stretch the sleep out of my eyes while the coffee is perking. Normal retiree day today with the usual stops at the gym, library, coffee shop, maybe the store and then back home. I'm up a little late to make my yoga class unless I hurry (and that's not going to happen). Maybe I'll have bacon and eggs this morning just so I won't have to throw it out.” 7:41:15 AM 12/02/05 “Yoga? Never tried that one. I did a couple years of Aikido and got to my brown belt in Tae Kwon Do a few years back, but moved and didn't get back into it afterwards. But my hiking/BP makes up for the loss and I don't have to hurt folks...haha (actually, I was the one that hurt).” 7:50:28 AM 12/02/05 “i'm eating old-fashioned oatmeal right now, watching it snow outside, yay! :-) i make mine with soymilk, and then i put yogurt and some kind of fruit in it. when we had leftover cranberry sauce, that was GOOOOD in it!!” 8:32:42 AM 12/02/05 “Chappy - Yoga's pretty good, core strength and flexibility. I've got this big XC ski race coming up in late February and want to actually be able to bend (rather than break) by that time. Looks like no Bacon & Eggs this morning, nor oatmeal. I just ate a bagel and now there's only room for my high protein POWER breakfast.” 8:38:01 AM 12/02/05 “"You're all......bent?!" -Jane Fonda to Robert Redford, Electric Cowboy.” 8:50:49 AM 12/02/05 “chappy - If you have not sent that cup yet, and if you have not looked at my pictures on Phil's Photo Page, maybe I can get you moving: Scroll down. last edited: 12/02/05 9:57:13 AM” 9:56:13 AM 12/02/05 “Did gas prices jump up overnight? What's the deal???” 2:43:39 PM 12/02/05 NS “So....you want some WWF "SmackDown" huh? Sorry, but the cup came up missing after my morning walk. I asked my wife about it but she said she was sleepin and heard me makin a helluva racket in the den. I told her I wasn't even in the house. Now I'm tryin to figure out what happened. I got some curious neighbors so I'll send it as soon as I can locate it, I know it didn't get far.” 3:50:27 PM 12/02/05 “a chilly 20 right now, high of 28 or so. Perfect for a day outside!” 3:07:49 AM 12/03/05 “Wake up you slugs! If I have to be up workin' so do you all! :D” 5:17:39 AM 12/03/05 “I'm up, I'm up. I was trying to post temperatures from around the country, but the Chicago Tribune caused me to lose most of my information. They put an ad over a page that I was trying to read and I could not get rid of it. If I can get some information on the ad, I'm going to send a few words to the Tribune. Chappy, the pictures are from aikijutsu class. I've been going for almost five years and I love it. BTW, please return that coffee cup to the church kitchen. I already have a collectin of Methodist cups, that I have carried home in my car. Thanks, anyway. Have a great weekend, folks. last edited: 12/03/05 5:40:45 AM” 5:38:23 AM 12/03/05 “If I read this response correctly, it says that they don't give a (you-know -what). My message is at the end.
