We are expecting our first accumulation of snow today, 1-3 inches. I hope we get it and then some.” 5:26:47 AM 11/23/05 “Crisp air this morning, light snow. Everything is covered in white. Looks like lows in the teens tonight with another 3-5 inches on Thanksgiving. I love living in NH!” 6:04:16 AM 11/23/05 “Well, today's here. Man, am I empty! I sure could do some serious eating. I have a feeling that a serious dent will be put in some poor turkey on Thanksgiving Day. Off to the hospital in an hour, so I guess I'd better get moving. Someone else will have to drink my coffee this morning.” 6:25:53 AM 11/23/05 “You are nearly home free Nimblefoot. Screening for colon cancer is a good thing! My Dad had a polyp with cancer in it, found early, likely cured. I see results of not screening. I would definitely rather have a colonoscopy! I'll have that cup of coffee.” 6:51:45 AM 11/23/05 “Thanks Pathman. I'm not afraid of it, not even a little. My only problem is not eating. I'm so focused on food that I've given scant attention to anything else. It seems when I walk into the kitchen my eyes were immediately drawn to the sweet rolls on the counter, the loaf of home made bread and my coffee pot. My instinctive thought is to devour, but it's quickly followed by a DAMN! as reality sets in. I sure do amuse myself.” 7:15:19 AM 11/23/05 Good morning. “Go forth and have fun. The sweet rolls and coffee will taste good later.” 7:38:36 AM 11/23/05 “here's lookin up your assets.” 7:47:09 AM 11/23/05 “The clock ticks....the minutes, nay, hours drop off as the fleet-footed, creak-boned minions await word from the Nimblefooted, pipe-poked, colon-stroked object of our daily thought. Did he make it? Is bread, roll, coffee quaffed voraciously, almost animal-like, with a half-human moan and a gnashing of teeth. Tick, tick, tick,....” 7:56:13 AM 11/23/05 “Clean as a whistle. Shortly following the procedure they gave me coffee, juice, sweet rolls and a banana. On the way home I stopped at Alley Cats Coffee Shop for more coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Right now I'm munching another sweet roll...there's a steak marinading for dinner. I was never this hungry on the trail. Never. The drugs wore off quickly (for some reason they always do...probably because of my habits in the 60's) and I could go for a walk in the woods were it not so filled with hunters.” 11:47:23 AM 11/23/05 “Welcome back Buck Rogers.....a banana?? Is that some sorta sick joke? :/” 12:27:31 PM 11/23/05 “They have the results already? If so, great. That means that they did not find anything to collect and send to a lab. Now I'm hungry. I ate up all my extra sweet rolls while worrying about you. last edited: 11/23/05 12:43:24 PM” 12:40:41 PM 11/23/05 “glad everything went in and out ok...lol” 12:53:48 PM 11/23/05 “I had one of those things this year, it was nothing. One of the guys in the office takes 2 full days off for his yearly colonoscopy. He went on and on about the prep like it was some huge ordeal. I guess he never had a baby or a mammogram, LOL... I was alert enough to watch some of it, and took home pictures - it was very interesting! Sass, I hope Abby is okay! How awful for the little ones when they have to go through something like that.” 12:55:49 PM 11/23/05 Hey Nimble “Did they give you the pics of your colon? They gave me a sheet with four neat little pics on it of my nice, clean, pink and happy colon. Here's smilin at ya ;)” 2:41:39 PM 11/23/05 “No pictures, but in addition to all the other food I posted about earlier, I just polished off a steak, baked potato and some sweet corn. Right now I'm lookin' around for dessert...” 4:25:44 PM 11/23/05 “Headed for a day hike today to Grayson Highlands. Temps now ar 6:am are above freezing at 3500 ft . Snow is present at this elevation at 2 to 4 inches and the drive to Whitetop Mt. yesterday at 5400 ft. there was 5 to 7 inches of snow with drifts up to 2 feet. Sticks and I are scheduled to do a 2 bagger friday and sat with snow in the forecast I hope. Happy thanks giving to all you out there, Be safe, and make it a good day.” 5:11:27 AM 11/24/05 “OK, I'm up...now what...oh.....yeah....Turkey Day!...gotta think about cookin'....AFTER coffee..” 5:45:56 AM 11/24/05 “Coffee is perking as I type and this morning I can drink it. Looks like a great day, heading over (the river and thru the woods) to dine with some friends. I'm hoping for leftovers, but if not I'll cook my own turkey just so I'll have some. This Thanksgiving, as in all, there is a lot to be thankful for, but in particular I want to say thanks for all the support on my thru hike and that err...deal that went on yesterday.” 6:51:26 AM 11/24/05 “Thanks Twigeater. She'll be okay, I'm sure. We got a call yesterday and she has a small lump in one of her kidneys. I'm trying to keep in mind that a body doesn't need but half of one kidney to run, a whole one is plenty, etc. The cream cheese is out on the counter already softening. Someone's going to have to wade through the snow to go pick some sage out of the garden. You all have a happy thanksgiving. Think about those folks at plimouth ages ago and all that we have to be grateful for. Interesting trivia for today: Plimouth, or Plymouth colony was the only British colony to ever elect their own government.” 7:02:16 AM 11/24/05 “Good morning. Today's the day that you can give someone the bird and get away with it. Happy Thanksgiving. I'm giving thanks today. All the TT women are wonderful. last edited: 11/24/05 7:25:49 AM” 7:22:05 AM 11/24/05 “I second thatand happy thanksgiving all” 7:49:59 AM 11/24/05 “This morning is beautiful! Crystal clear skies, bright sun and a temp of 14.9. Gonna work/play outside for a spell...” 7:54:55 AM 11/24/05 “Good morning. Time for a turkey snack.” 1:59:17 AM 11/25/05 “My little brother just dropped by with a new 'puter for us. He sat in line at Best Buy for hours. The cost: $150. I'm going to be extremely happy to have something alittle more up to date. He's pretty cool sometimes. Birch is gone hunting. It was a two dog night last night. Happy Friday everyone!” 7:01:00 AM 11/25/05 “weird day. No work for me, wife works. Kid off from school.” 9:01:02 AM 11/25/05 “Good morning. I returned a Lemon Meringue Pie to Publix Supermarket yesterday evening. The crust was way too hard and I decided I was not going to fight it. The crust should melt in one's mouth. This one could not even be cut with a sharp knife. Shame, because I love Lemon Meringue Pie. I miss it. Have a great day.” 6:58:46 AM 11/26/05 Good Morning “Well, I went to the country for T Day. Spent two wonderful nights in the woods in a tarp tent. Aside from the night critters it was great: quiet, lots of stars, the usual tossin and turnin. I made camp about 1/2 mile from the inlaws house so I could show up to eat, visit some, and exit. No one seemed to mind much because my wife, son and his girlfriend, had to sleep on the floor (small house) with little floor space so one less body on the floor gave everyone more room to moan/groan. However, mommy did come "visit" me one night. ;) Food? Oh, yeah, had that too...the usual.” 6:51:44 AM 11/27/05 “Goodmorning all! It's a beautiful, frosty, white day!” 7:13:24 AM 11/27/05 “Good morning. It's abeautiful day in Melbourne, FL. 70°F. at 6:53 am EST going to 79°F. today. In Duluth, MN, and in NW Wisconsin it is 31 climbing to 39 or 40 today plus Light freezing rain likely this morning. An isolated thunderstorm is also possible. Mainly rain this afternoon... Ugh! Near GSMNP, Maryville, TN, and Bryson City, NC, are expecting highs in the mid-50's with a chance of light showers. Today is moving day. My youngest daughter will be starting a job close to my place tomorrow. So she is moving from her sister's place to my trailer to be close to her job. Fortunately, she can't bring her cat as pets are not permitted in the trailer park. Using the Internet she recent obtained transportation to bring her cat from Minnesota to Melbourne, Florida, in a private vehicle. What an age in which we're fortunate to live. Have a great day. last edited: 11/27/05 7:33:22 AM” 7:30:52 AM 11/27/05 “cold and blustery in ABQ. high of 41F predicted, 30 at the moment. I need some long slow aerobic activity in the outdoors this afternoon. last edited: 11/27/05 8:06:00 AM” 8:05:16 AM 11/27/05 “Rain here. It's melting all of our nice snow. We're supposed to get more next week but I sure was enjoying bundling up the little one and sending her outside to build snowcastles. She uses her sandbox toys and creates some masterpieces.” 8:52:05 AM 11/27/05 “A little rain and 34, probably turning to snow as the day cools. Last day of rifle season so tomorrow I can start running and hiking in the woods. My ski's are waxed and ready to go if we ever get any real snow. Only 3 months until the Birkie so I got to get some skiing in.” 9:03:25 AM 11/27/05 “40 and raining all the snow melted over night good day for a hike” 9:12:51 AM 11/27/05 “Did bi5rch get his deer yet Sass?” 9:17:10 AM 11/27/05 “Got a death threat last night. No sleep. Time to look for a new house elsewhere.” 10:08:48 AM 11/27/05 “want to expand on that a little?” 10:38:16 AM 11/27/05 “Not really. We've had problems with certain people around the neighborhood for some time now. At one point it resembled gang warfare honestly, but not that bad. My issues are with a dangerous man on the next block who's a known drug sealer and his shorter brawl happy sidekick who threatened to rape and kill me, after he had just roughed up my brother in law. HPM and I went looking at houses in another part of town this morning. The police are absolutely useless. It took multiple 911 calls from 7 different people and 1.5 hours for them to come over here. THe police station is 2 miles away.” 11:03:49 AM 11/27/05 “treebait - That sounds serious. I can be there in about 3 hours and would be happy to help out anytime.” 11:48:35 AM 11/27/05 “Thanks, Paul. We've been installing 6 foot fencing around our yard because of encroaching development. HPM and his brother (who lives right next door) are installing more fencing at the front between our houses, with gates. It's more of a psychological help than a physical one, but at this point I'll take anything. I'll also be looking at shgotguns soon, I believe. I don't want to kill anyone, just cause massive amounts of pain.” 12:06:57 PM 11/27/05 “Aikijutsu is a subtle and complex martial art. Motion in this art is almost entirely circular, and ... techniques are divided into two major categories: projections and immobilizations. Students learn to blend with an attack, then either throw or control the attacker with a potentially painful joint lock. A shotgun, loaded with rock salt, may be what you want for the job. last edited: 11/27/05 12:39:10 PM” 12:36:07 PM 11/27/05 “There's classes in jiu jitsu starting up around here. THat and a shotgun might help. The jiu jitsu might just be good for getting agressions out. :)” 2:19:00 PM 11/27/05 “When I lived in Detroit I was told that if you're going to shoot someone that you'd better kill them and drag the body in your house like you found it there. Otherwise you'll end up losing everything you ever had. Moving sounds good. I'm sorry you guys are in a situation like that. I can relate and you have much sympathy from me. Nigal, Birch got no deer this year. All that were clean shots were too small, unfortunately. He did get his MP3 player though, but it's only the 1/2 gig one.” 6:38:01 AM 11/28/05 “I'm up! Going to teach a lesson I developed to some 8th graders this morning, then back home to do more homework. I had a really nice long weekend. Well, despite the cold I had, it was nice. Got to sleep lots. Saw family, spent 5 whole days with my fiance, and all was well in my world. :) Except, of course, some wedding drama. Now my brother and sister in law say they might not be able to come to the reception if their kids can't come. Cripes! Have they ever heard of a babysitter????” 7:19:20 AM 11/28/05 “i took a day off from work... i needed it after a long weekend with gemini! LOL” 7:35:14 AM 11/28/05 “There's always a couple who take it personally when children aren't included. I personally can't understand it. You'd think they'd be interested in a romantic (what's more romantic than a wedding?!) night out without the little booger lickers. last edited: 11/28/05 7:51:41 AM” 7:43:45 AM 11/28/05 “Good morning folks. Well, it's cool again in Texas. Damn weather can't decide what it wants to do. Hot, cool, hot, cool...........at least in Pennsylvania you KNEW it was winter. Of course, I had to shovel hella snow too. Well, coffee's good, I need to write my article, and go visit some folks. l8rz.” 7:46:45 AM 11/28/05 “"booger lickers," LOL!! that's extremely scary, treebait! i'd move too.” 7:49:16 AM 11/28/05 “Good morning. It's a mild winter so far in the "North Woods." Duluth reports 39 degrees. (43° | 22°) with rain today. In Melbourne, Florida, it is, also, a nice winter so far. At 8 a.m. it was 73°F. going to 79 today, with a chance of thunderstorms. My youngest daughter started a job this morning. Now maybe she can afford to give me an allowance! (I should live so long!) smiley girl - Don't let it bother you. Do things your way. It will all work out OK. I had worse problems. In fact I even looked into hiring an off-duty policeman and other security because of family problems. Just nod your head and say, "That's nice." People, including relatives, look for attention, but are capable of solving their own problems.” 7:51:10 AM 11/28/05 “Roads are slick here this am, the kidlets school was delayed by 2 hours. The school in my town didn't delay, and I say good luck to the bus driver who gets to go down my road. I'm starving, off to get breakfast!” 7:55:54 AM 11/28/05 “treebait, you guys are to low anyway. Y'all need to get higher.” 8:00:54 AM 11/28/05 Jump to Page << prev
