Supposed to be in the 50s by the end of the week. It will be a sloppy mess around here. Still 8-12 inches on the ground in most places.” 8:50:22 AM 12/28/04 “grrrr....no. I dont want to get up damn it. I have no coffee... I feel like crap...oh what a wonderfully drool day.” 8:52:25 AM 12/28/04 “I'm finally up. I had a long day yesterday, so I slept in this morning. A friend was visiting S. Florida from Italy, so I met him halfway yesterday at Merritt Island NWR. Very cool place. Long crowded drive on 95 though.” 8:52:49 AM 12/28/04 “Sierra Mist Free soad really sucks.” 8:56:18 AM 12/28/04 “treebait - Gee, I could have met you for coffee, while you were in the neighborhood. Are you sure you met at the right place? You were only a stone's throw from Playalinda, the nude bathing beach. You say your friend came from Italy. How 'bout a trip report?” 9:27:21 AM 12/28/04 “I met Brian, an old school friens from Michigan, and his boyfriend Lorenzo (from Milan) at the visitors' center at Merritt Island NWR. They were both very cold, since they both only had lightweight rain jackets with them (it's Florida! It shouldn't be cold! LOL!) They bought sweatshirts in the visitors' center. Poor things. This trip to Florida was a last second idea; he found $250 round trip tickets, and decided to vistit family and friends here, rather than the usual trip to Switzerland. I haven't seen Brian in 7.5 years, so this was very cool. We talked, walked several of the trails, and did the driving tour, where Brian and Lorenzo tried to get photos of as many critters as possible. Lorenzo walked up to an armadillo to get it's picture. He didn't know they jump when frightened, and the darn thing nearly jumped into his arms. That was one of the funnier things I've seen in a while. We got pictures of marsh hens who walked right past us, a couple of nice snakes, and some very large alligators sunning on the banks. The roseate spoonbills were cool too. We separated at 2:30; they had start heading towards Zephyr Hills, to visit Brians' grandparents. It was good to see them. Then, I fought traffic all the way back to Jacksonville, occasionally finding small groups of like-minded individuals (speeders) to drive with. That's about it.” 9:41:55 AM 12/28/04 “Thanks, treebait. Sounds like it was a lot of fun. I may have to stop there and do the trails instead of the beach. You've aroused my interest. I've been going NW of there to Econ SF for a little hiking.” 10:01:50 AM 12/28/04 “You've aroused my interest Down tiger.” 12:29:45 PM 12/28/04 “LOL. May your fun be doubled.” 4:30:39 AM 12/29/04 “Good morning you all. High today forecasted for 28 degrees in far northwestern Wisconsin. Almost too hot for cross country skiing and snowmobiling.” 4:38:31 AM 12/29/04 “Supposed to be 73 here today. Way too warm.” 7:42:11 AM 12/29/04 “everybody must be off work today? Quiet here..” 9:23:55 AM 12/29/04 “HPM's getting a new computer at work right now. 2 weeks before the whole company moves to a new location.” 9:24:59 AM 12/29/04 “It is a...how you say in your language? Verrrry nice.” 9:27:00 AM 12/29/04 “Good morning. For three days Melbourne is looking at highs of 75, 79 and 79°F. I'm going to do some packing today and then mosey down south of Miami where it should be a little warmer. last edited: 12/30/04 7:43:06 AM” 7:41:56 AM 12/30/04 “Go check out 19020 Franjo Rd in Miami (south of Cutler Ridge...Perrine actually) I used to own the house at that address which was demolished in the big hurricane in the 90's). I'm curious. You, NS, should be happy to know that your infamous casino, the Hole in the Wall allowed me to win 3700+ nickles last night and comp'd my dinner in the Loose Change Cafe. See, if you're nice to them, they'll be nice to you. Your picture (behind bars) is still prominently displayed by every entrance...and things are written about you on the walls of every men's room.” 7:47:50 AM 12/30/04 “I still want to know who I bailed out that wasn't Nowslimmer.” 7:51:17 AM 12/30/04 “OK, just one week after our blizzard with snow still on the ground, temperature are going to be in the 60s today and through the weekend. Weird! By the way, some ahole in Evansville tried to sell snowballs from the blizzard on e-bay. He has no bidders...LOL” 8:08:02 AM 12/30/04 “I remember seeing (not on Ebay of course) an interesting item like that, I think in a history program. It was a jar containing water from the iceberg that sank the Titanic. Some passenger collected a chunk of ice from the deck that had come from the iceberg, put it in a jar, and kept it with them during the rescue.” 8:29:00 AM 12/30/04 Nimblefoot “Gee, I hope my telephone number is still on the stall doors in the Woman's Room.” 8:40:32 AM 12/30/04 “Right where you put it (grin).” 8:43:51 AM 12/30/04 Nimblefoot “Thanks for taking time to check it while you were in the Woman's Room.” 9:01:24 AM 12/30/04 “OOOH! I'm first today, probably cause nobody's on LOL! Good morning all, a balmy 59 degrees this morning. The snow is melting fast. High for today will be 63 degrees. I'm brewing more coffee as I type. I didn't get much sleep last night. Drove an hour and a half to work this morning from Evansville. Happy New Year Everyone!” 7:14:57 AM 12/31/04 “I'm next! I'm next! I still need to make coffee, though. I didn't get much sleep either, thanks to an over-affectionate cat. Darn thing crawled up on my back and started kneading. When I tried to roll over and get him off he held on for dear life with his claws. Ouch.” 7:49:19 AM 12/31/04 “Me three! Good Morning - Happy New Year - I'll see you guys on Sunday evening!” 7:53:04 AM 12/31/04 “good morning...wish I was hiking. damn this morning...er..illness :)! last edited: 12/31/04 8:07:15 AM” 8:03:43 AM 12/31/04 “Mourning? Who died? Speaking of which, did your spider make his trip in one piece?” 8:05:02 AM 12/31/04 “yeah he arrived fine. he's gonna get some now. We sent him off fer breeding. :)” 8:07:45 AM 12/31/04 “Gee, I'm sorry. I would have said, "Hello," sooner, but I didn't hear anyone stirring over the noise of the air conditioner.” 8:13:02 AM 12/31/04 “ha! That dont bug me today NS as it is currently 60 degrees out :D last edited: 12/31/04 8:16:09 AM” 8:15:02 AM 12/31/04 “LOL.” 8:16:52 AM 12/31/04 “Ya, Spirit, but gotta get through tomorrow, before we see 50 degrees on Sunday! Ah, the joy of living in the midwest.” 8:19:07 AM 12/31/04 “Good morning and Happy New Year everyone. I think I've about decided to keep my Christmas tree up until I return from my thru hike. I'll probably just leave it up then too; it won't be that much longer til Christmas. Nowslimmer, you may want to check, that noise you hear is probably just your hearing aid buzzing.” 8:27:27 AM 12/31/04 “ Happy New Year!Nimblefoot - It sounds like your area needs some snow, if you want to do some skiing. "Kask said 6 to 8 inches of snow on top of the ice would be required to improve ski conditions." Duluth begins to dig out after ice storm” 7:44:01 AM 1/01/05 “I dun wanna get up. I feel worst in the morning...BLEH!!!!!” 8:15:37 AM 1/01/05 “No skiing for me until after my hike; I'm too obsessed with the AT. By the way, NS, I got a little revenge for you last night. Had a couple of drinks over in Danbury and cleaned out the Hole in the Wall...it was karoke night and I sang. It wasn't pretty, trust me.” 11:35:48 AM 1/01/05 “Damn cat Pinky kept me up all night, playing with a new toy and banging up and down our wooden staircase until about 8 am, when he decided to climb in our bed and go to sleep. That toy is disappearing tonight. Other than that, it's alovely day; too warm, in the mid 70's today, but very nice. Good day to get the new garden bed prepped.” 10:03:24 AM 1/02/05 “Happy First day back to work this year!!!! I would rather be sleeping...lol..... Hope y'all have a GREAT day......” 4:08:35 AM 1/03/05 “Aaaaaah! The kids went back to school. Listen... Hear that? Silence. :)” 6:38:06 AM 1/03/05 “no Silence here...the new birds are going bonkers. They wouldnt go to sleep last night either even though i told them too... :|” 7:06:17 AM 1/03/05 “yawn, I can't believe that I gotta go to work today!” 7:36:24 AM 1/03/05 “As much as my job drives me crazy, I'm glad to be back to some sort of normal schedule again. Treebait, sorry to hear about the cat woes. I feel your pain!!” 8:39:36 AM 1/03/05 ““Damn cat Pinky kept me up all night, playing with a new toy and banging up and down our wooden staircase until about 8 am, when he decided to climb in our bed and go to sleep. That toy is disappearing tonight.” That’s funny! My little kitty Stompy does that too. When HoneyDog and I go away for the weekend she is always bugging my wife. She climbs on her back while she’s sleeping and stomps on her back for a while and then lays down to sleep. She even climbed on her head and started stompin’ her. LOL! I keep trying to tell the wife we need another kitty for Stompy to play with. She ain’t buyin’ it.” 8:46:58 AM 1/03/05 Jump to Page << prev
