Work today for me: 12 to 9:30. I'm going to write myself a note: "Never work retail! It sucks!" Can't wait for school to be done w/ (and this semester hasn't even started yet!) It starts next monday. Yippee!” 10:47:50 AM 8/23/04 “Good morning. Are you happy? The new skirting for my trailer did not fit. I thought that I could drive stakes into the ground, but the ground turned out to be a concrete sidewalk covered with a little dirt. I'm going to have cut, hand fit and brace the skirting all around the trailer. This project will probably take the rest of the summer, or year. Hired someone to help cut down some more palm branches. The trash people came early, so I have to store the branches for another week. One of my prescription refills did not work. Walgreen's was trying to contact the wrong doctor for a new prescription. The problem stems from substitute doctors sometimes being used for submitting prescriptions over the telephone. Today's going to be a great day.” 6:00:43 AM 8/24/04 “I'm on my way to Minneapolis to pick up my girls. Wooohooo! I can't wait to see them! Have a great day, everyone!” 6:02:57 AM 8/24/04 “Another day another tree. I counted 15 dead oaks that should be removed. Unfortunately the largest 2 are closest to the house. This is close to becoming work. At least the coffee is good. Good morning everyone. Sunshine - it must feel great to be picking up your girls. It's amazing how much kids change and grow when not around them even for a short time.” 6:29:54 AM 8/24/04 “No kiddin Snake Eyes. Mine were gone for 6 weeks this summer, longest time ever. When they came home, they had GROWN! My 12 yr old son is now as tall as I am! I never gave them permission to grow like that!” 8:33:47 AM 8/24/04 “1.5 hour ride, meteor, sunrise and now work. Iced coffee with real sugar this AM.” 8:34:41 AM 8/24/04 “I had two cups of Fro roast and a triple vinte latte from SB this morning. I think I am going to come out of my skin! I’m shaking like a dog shltting razor blades!!!” 8:54:53 AM 8/24/04 “Pathman, you are so motivated, it makes me sick!! ;-) once again, lovely morning image there, Nigal, lol my fingers are burning!!! i cut up a stupid jalapeno pepper last night, which i thought weren't even that hot, and after two showers, my fingers are still on fiah! not to mention my eyeballs after putting in my contacts, ha!” 8:57:18 AM 8/24/04 “OUCH! I once cut some fresh jalapenos up and forgot to wash my hands. I went to the bathroom afterwards and couldn't figure out why my loins were on fire. I was afraid it was the Mexican hooker from the week before. Boy was I relieved when I remembered the peppers!” 9:04:46 AM 8/24/04 “um, ok. lol” 9:06:34 AM 8/24/04 Roam Around “Soon to come: "Pop, can I use the car tonight?" and then, "When are you going to get me my own car?"” 9:11:33 AM 8/24/04 “no doubt, Nigal! :-D” 9:12:39 AM 8/24/04 “Hazy/lightly foggy morning here in the Northwoods; thunderstorms and high in upper 60s is the forecast, so probably a good day to be at work. Came in "late" (9:30), which, on the second day of term means that I had to park in the farthest lot to get a space. Have to get back in the routine of coming in early, even on days when my first class isn't until later. On the plus side, since our home computer is in the shop, I was able to check my "tracking number" -- my new guitar is in town on the FedEx truck! That will be nice to come home to.” 10:26:28 AM 8/24/04 pekka “We'll be listening tonight. Say, how is the political situation shaping-up for you know who? Will we have a winner?” 10:37:39 AM 8/24/04 “Looking good, NS, but can't say much more nor am I good at reading the tea leaves or people's minds.” 10:42:52 AM 8/24/04 “morning! Cool and cloudy here in the NW corner of Montana. Was 59 in the house this AM. Decided that it was going to be a cool night so I broke out the down comforter last night: Boy, did that feel good! Wimped out this morning and reignited the gas stove to warm the house up to 65. I can tell the floors are going to be cold this winter. Only a crawl space underneath. Hope the pipes have heat tape on them. today's goal: get the chicken coop cleaned out and set up the kennels walls that keep the critters out. Toodles!” 11:26:07 AM 8/24/04 “I just got home! That's a long a$$ drive! I thought of Snake Eyes and Prosecutor as I passed through your territory. Feels good to be home. Snake Eyes, YES, I swear my 6 yo grew during the three weeks she was gone! Fair this week and school starts next week. What happened to Summer? Goodmorning everyone! I'm going to bed.” 1:47:00 AM 8/25/04 “HUGS....morning to everyone....The 25th of August...where has the summer gone???....wooo hoo Fall on the way!!!!!....I do love fall.....cool days with warm breezes........leaves falling......and chilly nights....yummmm..... I hope everyone has a great day today.....do something nice for someone today ....even if it is kind words..... Off to work!!!” 4:30:21 AM 8/25/04 Good morning. “Gee, you look so good today.” 5:31:06 AM 8/25/04 “Yes, autumn is definitely on it's way. It was 43 degrees here this morning. I love summer in NH.” 5:54:36 AM 8/25/04 “Ah Freezes. Death to mosquitos and biting flies. I do like the fall. Good morning you all.” 6:06:24 AM 8/25/04 “Good morning everyone. It's been in the 70's here lately, warm enough that the bugs have returned. I'm with you Prosecutor: death to the biting insects; no fair trial, no appeals. I'll even throw the switch. The bugs weren't really bad on the SHT hike, definitely worse on the north end of the trail. Most of the time bug spray didn't seem to matter. They're really not that bad now, but it seems worse because I'm splitting wood and really don't care to swat with an axe in my hand. Ahhh, coffee, coffee, coffee. Anyone know where Tilt is?” 6:22:02 AM 8/25/04 “Snake Eyes - Splitting kwood uses up valuable time that could be used for TT and hiking. With all those dead trees around you, I suggest that you invest in a wood splitter. ![]() This is fun, Walco 12u Wood Splitter is easier. 7:17:31 AM 8/25/04 “NS. I have a splitting wedge which makes it a helluva a lot more fun than the traditional (old fashioned) double blade axe. Nothing quite as fancy as your picture. I'm just a poor democrat.” 7:21:41 AM 8/25/04 “Where did that blue come from?” 7:37:04 AM 8/25/04 “Snake Eyes - Did you click on the picture. That thing weighs 12 pounds. The other one(link) is more conventional and a lot easier. Republicans buy those to help the economy. Democrats just complain about how poor they are and how hard they have to work to pay their illegal, immigrant houseworkers. LOL.” 7:50:29 AM 8/25/04 “Foggy and humid in this part of the Northwoods. 8 o'clock class looming. Later, gators.” 8:02:13 AM 8/25/04 “ Snake Eyes - You have e-mail, if everything worked OK.” 9:20:08 AM 8/25/04 “rainy here in IN. OMG the trees are already turning color :(.” 9:31:02 AM 8/25/04 “NS. The splitter is made in Bangladesh, the company is owned by Republicans and the democrats ARE the domestic help you mentioned. lol” 10:49:22 AM 8/25/04 “Good morning, everyone. Last night on TV I enjoy watching and listening to the All-Star Piano Extravaganza, a part of The Verbier Festival Concert. It was great and included up to eight pianos playing together. This was of real interest to me since my brother was a professional musician and played a lot of piano. For years, after his death in 1989 from MS, I could not listen to others play the piano. At the age of seven my brother played the piano with the Chicago Symphony in Orchestra Hall. For years, and maybe still, he was the only Chicago area musician to direct a New York show in Chicago. He was very good to me, in spite of my lack of appreciation of hearing him practice 14 to 16 hours per day while we were young. I miss you, brother. Have a wonderful day.” 4:16:49 AM 8/26/04 Oops, here is the intended link. 4:30:11 AM 8/26/04 NS “Thanks for sharing that story about your brother. I just absolutely love piano music. I play a little bit...not as well as I wish. Sometimes I just put in a CD of piano music and just get lost for a couple of hours. I wish I had caught that show last night.” 5:08:25 AM 8/26/04 “Going to bed. See y'all in a few hours.” 5:14:36 AM 8/26/04 “getting up - good morning.” 5:38:31 AM 8/26/04 “Goodmorning! Today I take my youngest to school to meet his Kindergarten teacher and see his classroom. School starts next Wednesday. *sigh* All my babies are in school now. Have a greata day, everyone!” 7:05:22 AM 8/26/04 “I still remember the first day I went to kindergarten. I told my Mom that she could leave now...I would be fine. I think it was more traumatic for her than it was for me.” 7:10:25 AM 8/26/04 “I'm up but not moving.” 7:20:17 AM 8/26/04 “Good morning. One coffee down, two to go...for starters. A good rain last night, knocked out power, satellite and me too since I had nothing left to do but go to sleep. The shift from summer to early fall is subtle but distinct. It feels good to have slowed my life to the point I can detect small changes. Had the opportunity yesterday to talk with a 19 y/o young man for about an hour. We just chatted about everything in life. It's always rewarding to really get to know folks, but I especially like to share with older and younger folks. People my own age generally bore me. The young in any period in history generally get a bad rap, so it's cool to find out what they really think, feel and believe. They're good folks. Have a great day.” 7:59:12 AM 8/26/04 “With a night class on Wednesday and my first class at 11 on Thursdays, it was a "sleep in" morning. So I'm just getting to that first cup of coffee here at the office. The storms that got Snake Eyes missed us, though we got the "flash flood" warnings on TV for the U.P. straight north of here. Color advancing every day in the campus woods. Bye bye, summer. And take the skeeters with ya when ya leave.” 10:45:32 AM 8/26/04 “Rained a bunch last night here in Cody. Also some snow up in the mountains around 6500'. My high schooler started school last week, and my middle schooler started yesterday, but they'll be out in May too.” 10:49:27 AM 8/26/04 “good mornin” 2:02:32 PM 8/26/04 “Say it isn't so....I'm the first one posting on this thread? Where are all the early birds?” 5:31:24 AM 8/27/04 “Good morning. It won't be long now. Have a great weekend.” 5:45:26 AM 8/27/04 Busy Busy Busy “I left home for work yesterday at 7am and got home at 9:30pm...and now I'm back up for work at 6:30am.” 6:02:32 AM 8/27/04 “but its phinally phriday!!!!!” 6:07:32 AM 8/27/04 Good Morning All! “Ahhhhh....the first of 7 days off in a row. Yeah, I'm liking my new job. Buddur, are you working hours that long or driving a nightmare commute every day?” 6:31:40 AM 8/27/04 Still dark here.... “ugh. Long day ahead, high prob of working over weekend. Thank God I have a training schedule and must bicycle.” 6:58:31 AM 8/27/04 “Good morning. Gotta get a new cutting chain for my chainsaw today and sharpen the old. Back to the trees. I'm too much of a hugger to enjoy cutting down the live ones, but these (Oaks) are dying prematurely and either need to become firewood or removed from the proximity of my house. First I need to crank up the coffee and have a Paul Bunyan sized breakfast (I'll use any excuse for a big breakfast).” 7:21:36 AM 8/27/04 “Snakeeyes, been there, done that. For today, I start a five day four night backpacking trip in the Wind River Range with BLISSster and Ron. It was supposed to get down to 31 degrees last night in Pinedale, Wyoming, and colder in the mounatins along the Continental Divide where we are going.” 7:34:35 AM 8/27/04 Jump to Page << prev
