“Morning!!!......Back from Gulf Shores and all it's warm wonderful breezes and the water with it's soothing, relaxing waves.....back into the world of metal and grease.......but the promise of a short work week makes it bearable......3 days to go......birthday dinner tonight at Macaroni Grill for my 18 year old son with my daughter and friends...and looking forward to an evening with my roommate Saturday in Birmingham... dinner at Bahama Breeze...and a Brad Paisley concert & a dance ....by the Alabama Poultry & Egg Association ....

Roam, you should give yourself a day off between workouts to recover. Your body will thank you.

So, what's everyone doing this weekend? Birch has to take a weekend-long class for his journeyman's test so Abby and I are on our own. I have to try and find some little white cotton gloves for her (any ideas where I should look?! Bridal shops only have satin ones around here)and put the kayak in for a nice long paddle with friends tomorrow. Weather's forcasted to be dry and mid- seventies tomorrow. Sunny too. =)”

I plan to trim the bushes outside, clean my car and garage, perhaps a few closets inside, go running, sleep in, cook a nice meal or two, and go to the Museum of African American History in Detroit for a class project. I'm so looking forward to being home for a change!!”

“I don't know where they get them, but funeral homes around here often give cotton gloves to pall bearers while carrying the casket. As they are only used once, they must be cheap and readily available.

ALSO, my mother-in-law has a problem with the skin on her hand that requires some 'scripted salve. After applying the salve she puts on a cotton glove. So perhaps a pharmacy?

Other thought, a costume shop?”

Sass, have you checked out the local 5 & dime's toy section? Sometimes those Lil' princess toy packages have gloves in them.

I would rather be on Hazel Creek.

“Hazel Creek is in GSMNP.
It seems to have the best fishing in the park, some of the best campsites, and lots to explore, like old copper mines, old homesites, many burial places and remains of towns. Lots of mining equipment remains. From Fontana Lake you can use 2-wheeled carts to haul your stuff to any of the five campsites. During two weeks there I drank spring water without any treatment. And you can bypass a lot of hiking to get there by taking a shuttle boat from the Fontana Marina or others, or by using your own craft. The woods and the creek are beautiful.”

“MaryPhyl, I agree! Time flies too quickly, although it is very nice to not have to deal with diapers and to be able to go on hikes that I don't have to carry her on. =) I will definately post a picture for you.

Lyra-Please do experiment with self tanners and report back! I'm headed to the beach in FLA next Thursday and have been thinking my blinding white tummy might need some sort of color. I think our coloring is simular.... (You first, really, it'll be okay! ) ;)”

A high cloud cover is toning down the sunshine just a bit, but it promises to be the fourth nice day in a row -- expecting more low 70s, no rain until possibly late tonight.”
