Little Coop Has Arrived

“Sheila and I welcomed our newest hiking partner - Delany Rose - into the world yeasterday. Mom and baby are doing great.

When she came out she was clutching her umbilical cord in her hand. Perhaps a hint at her approach to life.

We are blessed.

It seems that they know they have a clean diaper on and are intent on messing the new one up as soon as you change it. Just be glad you don't have a boy and just as you start to change the diaper he lets loose a stream straight at your face...lol.”

“Actually - and I guess this is somewhat embarassing - I had never changed a diaper before in my life until two days ago. Boy and to think what I was missing!

Yeah Tango - we thought that was a neat meaning for a name. Also, my wife's family is from Ireland so we thought the gaelic/celtic connection worked.”

I learned how to diaper my daughter after she was born by reading the directions on the back of the Pampers BOX, yes I said BOX..for you youngun's there was a time when diapers came in boxes, not in bags.....

Now I know I am showing my age...

Fatherhood is going well so far. There's the usual newborn stuff like weird sleep patterns and not really leaving the house, but then she shoots me a little look and I melt.
