“ickyma, here is what I asked for -

average global temperature for each year from 1998-2008

I'll settle for up to 2007”

And even that doesn't mean much... the temperature trended downward in the 60s... briefly... But the overall trend is pretty clear... for now.

And this graph shows a LONG history... and it seems we're near the upper end of the temp. scale... seems we're likely experience a drop in temperature relatively soon, right?

I'll say it again ...

global temps have fluctuated since the beginning of the earth

the claim is as man puts co2 into the air, temps will rise at an increasing rate

if that were true, we'd see the last 10 years, (the years where man has put the most co2 into the air) increasing in avg global temperature faste than in recorded history

That isn't being unreasonable.

If anything, your historical graphs disprove an unusual man-made trend.

that may be.

Again... I'm not your typical Liberal Democrat on this subject. I'm skeptical to say the least...

...but I still want to minimize pollution just for the sake of having clean air to breath.

Again... I'm a skeptic although I do tend to agree with the Green types, ultimately... albeit for different reasons...

Having said that, I'd like to share this with you who don't believe in Global Warming at all...

Shuster Pushes Inhofe On Global Warming Skepticism: ‘If There Is A Hoax, Isn’t It This Report Of Yours?’»

Earlier this month, Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) released a report citing “more than 650 international scientists” http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Minority.Blogs&ContentRecord_id=2674e64f-802a-23ad-490b-bd9faf4dcdb7 who back up his claims that manmade global warming is a hoax. This list was a revision of his original compilation of 400 names earlier in the year. That list fell apart http://thinkprogress.org/2007/12/21/sen-inhofes-misleading-climate-denial-report/ , however, when experts pointed out that many of those people 1) had no background in climate science http://blogs.tnr.com/tnr/blogs/environmentandenergy/archive/2008/12/15/inhofe-s-650-quot-dissenters-quot-make-that-649-648.aspx , or 2) “demanded to be taken off http://gristmill.grist.org/story/2008/1/14/231236/019 , since they didn’t disagree with the scientific consensus on climate change at all.”

Inhofe’s new report with 650 “experts” http://climateprogress.org/2008/12/11/inhofe-morano-recycles-long-debunked-denier-talking-points-will-the-media-be-fooled-again/ , doesn’t seem to be much better http://scienceblogs.com/deltoid/2008/12/more_on_inhofes_alleged_list_o.php . Anja Eichler, one of the scientists cited by Inhofe as believing that half of the earth’s warming is caused by the sun, said that her work was “misinterpreted”; in fact, she believes that “Earth’s temperature does not change randomly — it changes when it is driven to do so by an external forcing.” http://climateprogress.org/2008/12/12/scientist-our-conclusions-were-misinterpreted-by-inhofe-co2-but-not-the-sun-is-significantly-correlated-with-temperature-since-1850/ TNR’s Bradford Plumer also found others on this list new who appear to support the theory of manmade global warming http://blogs.tnr.com/tnr/blogs/environmentandenergy/archive/2008/12/15/inhofe-s-650-quot-dissenters-quot-make-that-649-648.aspx .

Yesterday on MSNBC, David Shuster grilled Inhofe on his report, bringing up the case of Eichler. After pointing out all the problems with the report, Shuster asked, “Senator, if there is a hoax, isn’t it this report of yours?” Inhofe continued to dig in his heels, insisting that the “majority” still agreed with him:

INHOFE: Let’s assume that you believe that CO2 caused, as you obviously do, causes…

(CROSSTALK)

SHUSTER: Well, and as those scientists that you cited, they believe it. But go ahead.

INHOFE: No, the scientists do not believe it. The majority of them do not believe it. […]

SHUSTER: Go ahead. You get the last word.

INHOFE: If you could only come out with four names out of 650, I would say I’m probably right.

SHUSTER: Well, I can go through a whole — I can go through a lot more. We just don’t have time.

Watch it: http://thinkprogress.org/2008/12/23/inhofe-650/

In 2003, Inhofe said that global warming is “the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.” Despite all the facts piled against him, Inhofe stood behind his statement in October, and yesterday, again called global warming “ludicrous” and a “hoax.”

Lets see, for umpteen years your "Religion" has been based on lies specifically designed (as we pointed out from the beginning) to destroy the ability of people to succeed. We now have a President who has specifically said he will "bankrupt" anyone who tries to build a coal powered electrical plant.

At this point sale its kinda like Bernard Madoff saying..."Oops my bad, lets just write this off to bad experience and move on."

But then isn't that the good liberal way.

This was your greatest card in the spread of socialisim....people were made rich and famous on a "FRAUD".
Tell you what, all the "green Crap" shoved down our throats made someone some money. Find it and return it.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!

It is officially over....

http://www.lssu.edu/banished/current.php

Words now banished from the english language!!!

"It's that time of year again!"

Lake Superior State University "maverick" word-watchers, fresh from the holiday "staycation" but without an economic "bailout" even after a "desperate search," have issued their 34th annual List of Words to Be Banished from the Queen's English for Mis-use, Over-use and General Uselessness. This year's list may be more "green" than any of the previous lists and includes words and phrases that people from "Wall Street to Main Street" say they love "not so much" and wish to have erased from their "carbon footprint."

Environmental buzzwords are getting the axe this year. "Green" and "going green" received the most nominations.

GREEN The ubiquitous 'Green' and all of its variables, such as 'going green,' 'building green,' 'greening,' 'green technology,' 'green solutions' and more, drew the most attention from those who sent in nominations this year.

"This phrase makes me go green every time I hear it." Danielle Brunin, Lawrence, Kansas.

"I'm all for being environmentally responsible, but this 'green' needs to be nipped in the bud." Valerie Gilson, Gales Ferry, Conn.

"Companies are less 'green' than ever, advertising the fact they are 'green.' Is anyone buying this nonsense?" Mark Etchason, Denver, Colo.

"If something is good for the environment, just say so. As Kermit would say, 'It isn't easy being green.'" Kevin Sherlock, Hiawatha, Iowa.

"If I see one more corporation declare itself 'green,' I'm going to start burning tires in my backyard." Ed Hardiman, Bristow, Va.

"This spawned 'green solutions,' 'green technology,' and the horrible use of the word as a verb, as in, 'We really need to think about greening our office.'" Mike McDermott, Philadelphia, Penn.

CARBON FOOTPRINT or CARBON OFFSETTING "It is now considered fashionable for everyone, tree hugger or lumberjack alike, to pay money to questionable companies to 'offset' their own 'carbon footprint.' What a scam! Get rid of it immediately!" Ginger Hunt, London, England.

Mike of Chicago says that when he hears the phrase 'carbon footprint,' "I envision microscopic impressions on the surface of the earth where an atom of carbon forgot to wear its shoes."

Christy Loop of Woodbridge, Va., says that 'leaving a carbon footprint' has become the new 'politically incorrect.' "How can we not, in one way or another, affect our natural environment?"

Stovie, religion just is. I know people who believe WHATEVER the Catholic Church says "REGARDLESS".

You can show them evidence of the Pope's fallibility and they will just cover it up. You can show them abuses in the system (albeit not significant) but they will still defend the church.

Global Socialists are the same way, Global Manmade Warming Scam is just a way they can attain their Stalinist Goal.

GORE HEARING ON WARMING MAY BE PUT ON ICE
Mon Jan 26 2009 17:59:26 ET

Al Gore is scheduled before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday morning to once again testify on the 'urgent need' to combat global warming.

But Mother Nature seems ready to freeze the proceedings.

A 'Winter Storm Watch' has been posted for the nation's capitol and there is a potential for significant snow... sleet... or ice accumulations.

"I can't imagine the Democrats would want to showcase Mr. Gore and his new findings on global warming as a winter storm rages outside," a Republican lawmaker emailed the DRUDGE REPORT. "And if the ice really piles up, it will not be safe to travel."

A spokesman for Sen. John Kerry, who chairs the committee, was not immediately available to comment on contingency plans.

Global warming advocates have suggested this year's wild winter spells are proof of climate change.

I am looking for an attorney to file an action on Algroan for damages in the near future. Make the schlub have to prove his religion in court.

It's 75 here with a heat index of 80 and I'm running my AC! Could someone please send me some cold air! Some of the trees are even starting to bud. We have had about a week of what you can call winter weather here this year. It actually snowed early in December, a rare event seen less than once a decade here! It never dipped below freezing here though and the rain which followed melted it away. About a half hour north of here it stayed for a day or two. It was really pretty to see. I hope that dang ground hog sees his shadow. In South Louisiana summer starts around Easter and ends around Thanksgiving. It is something to bear not to enjoy.

Funny, around here winter starts around or before Thanksgiving and lasts past Easter. It's been a pretty average winter so far. Some snow, some rain, and some temps bellow 0.

One issue that needs to be considered is that the phenomena known as "global warming" is merely a component of global climatic change. Unfortunately, a lot of folks have clung on to the "global warming" component as a means for exemplifying climatic change; which is incorrect.
