There you go MarkO, get your algae cultures and move west, we're again hydrated.

I put my snow shoes on the south side of my house and the boat to the north. Gives me more time, because the ocean will come in from the south and the glasier the north. Glad those dudes weren't in charge of getting us to the moon last century.

False prophets of doom

Environmentalists would prefer that we forget these predictions

Would wetlands include massive irrigation in naturally deliquescent deserts areas?
salebored

if they did couldn't your argument (such as it is) be countered by the claim that we are losing wetlands everywhere else?

What's the ratio? even then, the relocation is more important than the scale. And, evaporation rate.

exactly, the process is way to complex to make claims what minor effects do or do not impact the greenhouse effect

Has this been posted yet?

http://www.dailytech.com/Researchers+Global+Warming+Halts+Until+2020/article11672.htm

New research indicates no warming for next 15 years.

Previous articles in DailyTech highlighted the views of scientists who believe another Ice Age approaches, the rapid temperature decline in 2007, and the official prediction of the United Nations that the planet will continue cooling in 2008. Now, a team of researchers has predicted that global warming will halt for up to 15 years, as oscillating ocean currents cause the planet to cool slightly.

We should definitely bulldoze all wetlands immediately.

Do you ever employ logic in your arguments, rosey? All I see from you are emotional outbursts. I know that's a liberal hallmark, but still, it must be draining at times.

Sorry Mr. Spock. I'm just having a good ole time getting you guys all riled up.

Give me a break, the guy's ending statement is that wetlands create the greatest amount of greehouse gas on the planet. Newflash: most wetlands are GONE. I'd like to see any modicum of scientific support for his ending statement.

no don't bulldoze the wetlands, we need them to fight against global cooling thats occurring.

But just in case global warming comes back we need to increase our production of Acid Rain since it counters the effects of methane coming from wetlands.

Thanks for posting it. It completely contrdicts the other whacko article posted by noncon.

From hyway's piece:

Methane is thought to account for 22 percent of the human-enhanced greenhouse effect. And microbes in wetland areas are its biggest producers. They feed off substrates such as hydrogen and acetate in peat and emit methane into the atmosphere.

Wait. What? Greehouse gases from wetlands create 22% of the global warming emissions? Why, that leaves 78% created by....US!

Undisputed scientific truth for sure.

Interesting.....where does that 78% stat come from---I mean besides your math?

just an fyi, I googled green house gases and wetlands, saw an interesting blurb about acid rain in the brief description, clicked the link and posted it here. I have no idea who wrote that study, whether they are funded by phillip morris, Exxon Oil, greenpeace, sierra club or whoever. I don't know if they are respected scientist are whacked out scientologist. So, I wouldn't bet the ranch on that 22% figure.

rosey, all I did was prove what I always say. The cooling and warming of the earth is too complex a process for any of these stupid articles to give any real conclusions on what the earth is going to do. Science has become a service industry providing what ever results the client wants

its even easier to compound the problem by ignoring factors such as falling temperatures when making laws about how to combat global warming

If you had noted any of the laws and court decisions, you would note most of them reference "climate change" and not specifically warming.

Except for a few lunatic fringe, the would is pretty much in agreement that claimate change is happening and that humans are, at a minimum, partially responsible.
roseymonster

but what are we responsible for, warming or cooling? Will all our efforts and money make a real impact? Will destroying our economy by sending corporations to third world countries to take advantage of plentiful carbon credits help the United States if the seas rise anyway?
hyway
9:49:12 AM

Many things will have positive impact aside from their influence on warming or cooling, but still will bo little to correct the real problem ,which is global swarming.

... Record low maximum temperature set in Denver for August 16th...

The high temperature at Denver International Airport today was 58 degrees.

This 58 degree reading will replace the previous low maximum temperature record for August 16th which was 63 degrees set 118 years ago in 1890.

It's been MUCH cooler this summer than last summer where I live. I don't think we had more than a handful of days last August that were under 90 degrees. It's been rather pleasant for a few weeks now. We haven't really been getting too much of that stifling heat that makes me not want to go outside.
