It cracks me up to hear these guys crying and then see them posting on the internet all the time! LOL! hypocrites” 8:23:23 AM 12/18/06 “LOL......And here is exclusive video of a Senior Global Warming Scientist "moonlighting" in their other career http://www.ebaumsworld.com/2006/12/stupid-psychic-2.html http://www.ebaumsworld.com/2006/12/psychic-busted.html ROTFLAMO!!!!” 9:05:46 AM 12/18/06 “TechNtrek, you crazy whacko!” 9:37:16 AM 12/18/06 “Moonglo - seriously buddy, you can't see the difference between reducing emissions and eliminating them. Maybe we can explain this to you. And Moonglo - you don't understand that when opinions change as new evidence emerges, and you're left in the minority, you are the Wacko with the extremist views.” 10:40:24 AM 12/18/06 “I'll lay it out for you again Moonie a) Reducing emissions b) Eliminating emissions You understand these two concepts right?” 10:41:28 AM 12/18/06 “Just posting to use more energy to help destroy the environment. Thanks for reading this and contributing to my plan.” 12:01:12 PM 12/18/06 “Yeah Y2 and the problem is that the Enviro Wackos know about both, but they believe in reducing for them and eliminating for anyone not bribing them. They are no different than the Race War Whores....and the sad think is YOU know it.” 2:04:31 PM 12/18/06 “"TechNtrek, you crazy whacko!" -MarkO Damn straight! I'm waiting on my Crazy Whacko merit badge in the mail. It was hard earned. "99.9% of the global warming whackos cause (by their measures) as much of the problem as anybody." - moony So, have you reduced your electricity useage by 25% over the last 12 months like I have? Going to reduce it another 25% in the next 12 months? Get back to me on that one.” 2:43:20 PM 12/18/06 “the whackos think it's all relative” 2:44:49 PM 12/18/06 “I see you're refusing to answer the question once again Moonie. Do you understand the difference between: 1) Reducing your emissions 2) Eliminating them Well ? XL - No idea what you are talking about. Who is paying them?? You been reading Michael Crichton novels again?” 3:17:19 PM 12/18/06 “ooooohhhhh, I get it Moonglo - by admitting you know the difference, you'd be admitting you yourself know how stupid the points you raise are.” 3:21:48 PM 12/18/06 ““Yesterday was almost t-shirt weather around my place. Made working in my attic very nice. I'm adding a foot of insulation everywhere right now. Maybe it won't be needed in another decade?” techntrek INSULATION WORKS BOTH WAYS AC BOY last edited: 12/18/06 3:31:21 PM” 3:28:13 PM 12/18/06 “Okay Y2 seeing as how you have an even worse understanding of economics than Laqtose the intolerant...see to advertise, or produce information or even buy explosives takes something called MONEY. Now the Enviro Wackos gotta get the MONEY from somewhere and since they are probably not combined smart enough to hold up a Lemonade Stand they use the same tactic as the Race Whores....you threaten a corporation until they give you some money (payola or Protection Money) thats how they fund their activities.” 3:28:15 PM 12/18/06 “See the trouble is that people like Tech show how easy it is to make progress on this front, how achievable real gains are - but this would be tantamount to supporting those 'wacko' environmentalists for Sarglo, therefore he turns instead to some totally pointless argument that we all use energy. Yes we do - but as Tech's practical examples show, we can use less energy, and fairly easily, in a short space of time, with no overall impact on lifestyle. last edited: 12/18/06 3:39:40 PM” 3:30:45 PM 12/18/06 “"So, have you reduced your electricity useage by 25% over the last 12 months like I have? Going to reduce it another 25% in the next 12 months? Get back to me on that one." Good for you. Reduction is one of the best short term answers, because it can happen at the personal level, quickly and requires very little work to implement. I have reduced energy cost dramatically over the last few years. I'm some where along the lines of 35% average or so for both gas and electric. If we were going to be staying at our present home for the long run, I would be investing in an expandable solar panel system for supplemental power in the very near future.” 3:33:38 PM 12/18/06 “Yes XL - that's exactly how the world works, small groups of scientists and wackos threaten and abuse those poor poor corporations like Exxon and Shell, GM and Ford, Sempra and Duke Energy, Halliburton, and it's only good right thinking people like yourself that protect Exxon from going under.” 3:43:16 PM 12/18/06 “nimrod - Duh. I was making a point (the first half) and a joke (the second half) at the same time. Duh.” 8:08:52 AM 12/19/06 “"the whackos think it's all relative" - moonglo No $hit its all relative. The only way to make it absolute is to have absolutely zero impact on your local and world environment. "Absolute" means no grey areas, no middle ground. That means no breathing. No eating. No crapping. No moving around. In other words - die or never be born to begin with. The alternative is to affect your environment relatively. Meaning a little, a lot, or somewhere in between in comparison to other beings of the same race. I'm guessing you fall in the "a lot" range. I'm choosing by my actions to fall in the "in between" range right now and I'm working to make it into "a little". So yes, its all about being relative.” 8:14:27 AM 12/19/06 “http://www.mag-wind.com/ techntrek , dont know if you have seen this one. Opinion? BTW crapping is actually needed for the enviroment. Many life forms depend on it to survive. :} Many of my ex's relatives were whackos... does that count?” 8:24:31 AM 12/19/06 “cracks me up how the whackos think they're "environmentalists" if they destroy the planet only 60% as quickly as everybody else LMAO! demonstrates perfectly how stupid they are” 8:25:18 AM 12/19/06 Hey XL?! “Do you mind if I kill you with a poison that works at 50% the speed of "regular" poisons? You'd still be my friend then, right? Ok. Cool man! Let's do lunch.” 8:27:41 AM 12/19/06 “"If we were going to be staying at our present home for the long run, I would be investing in an expandable solar panel system for supplemental power in the very near future." - laqtis Bravo! I hope you get to achieve that in the future. As I've mentioned here before, that is exactly my long-term goal at my current house. That's why all the energy-cutting activities right now. First step - measure use. Second step - reduce to the lowest level possible. Third step - install a PV system that will support the new level of consumption. I'm in step 2 right now. I'll be up in my attic (again) tonight, working on the insulation. Last night at Wal-Mart I found florescent night lights that only use 1.5 watts, instead of the usual 4. Sweet. And before sarglo or XL points out that 4 watts is "nothing" and saving 2.5 watts is "pointless", I'll point out that 4 watts times 24 hours = 96 watts per day, 2880 watts per month. That ain't nothing, especially since we use 8 of them. That's 23,000 watts per month. Now 5 of them are florescent and one is LED, cutting my useage to under 12,000 watts per month.” 8:32:33 AM 12/19/06 “LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” 8:35:44 AM 12/19/06 “The cool thing is that most libbies are really not aware of incrementalisim. They really think that if THEY are not aggressive then the rest of the world will not be aggressive.” 8:36:31 AM 12/19/06 “techntrek - I've been using florescent and LED lights in my house before they became popular, before the prices dropped on them, and even before they worked well. I'm just not stupid enough to think that's saving the environment and I'm making an impact on the planet. You and your "look at me" liberal mentality is hilarious dude. last edited: 12/19/06 8:44:13 AM” 8:42:55 AM 12/19/06 “Hey XL - Look at me! I'm super special. I use a computer, but I use power-save mode! I drive a car, but it gets 43 mpg! I heat and cool my house, but I use a timer! I use electricity for lights, but I use LEDs! I'm killing the earth slower than you because I care more than you and are smarter than you and you're DESTROYING the environment you conservative ANIMAL you!!! last edited: 12/19/06 8:46:57 AM” 8:46:18 AM 12/19/06 credit where it's due “At least techntrek doesn't want to be a pilot for fun. That would be very destructive.” 8:48:50 AM 12/19/06 “ROTFLMAO.....Remember when the Lapel Ribbon stuff was so popular with the libbies....Rush Limbaugh was on TV at the time and he comes on the set with like 20 or 30 ribbons on....his comment. "Do you know what all these ribbons mean? It means I CARE more than you." (LOL) We were working a fire one night, a drunk had put some grease on to cook something (kinda fuzzy about what he was planning to cook) and he passed out at the kitchen table. The stove lights up, he wakes up and turns on the vent-a-hood he and his brother had installed (NO VENT TO THE OUTSIDE)...it was piped to the Attic. So he pours water on the fire....IT Flares up...he finally gets an extinguisher and just covers the kitchen in ABC powder. Then he finished his bottle and goes and passes out in the living room. 30 minutes later the neighbor notices the roof is burning like a bonfire. Our crews get there, drag passed out bum out, administer 02 and he comes around. We spent 3 hours working to get everything extinguished, found his cats etc etc. So the neighborhood "DO Gooder" (Her car had a Kerry/Edwards" sticker on it. Starts banging on doors at 2 AM. Asking for donations for this guy. When she gets shushed off a couple of porches she walks over to my company and begins hitting us up for money for the guy. I told her that he had insurance, this was an accidental fire, he would be okay. Then I get the classic LIBBIE Emotional Response,"Well you still owe him something, I mean he has lost a lot of stuff, and you guys should be greatful for your jobs." As I have said a number of times on this site, Libbies work of EMOTIONAL response, it is the lazy way of dealing with issues. Since you cannot "compare" emotion...(how can I say my "feelings" are any stronger than yours...?) you are forced to treat them as THEY want.” 8:58:49 AM 12/19/06 “You almost got it, moonglo. You are missing an important point, though. The only way to regain any credibility on this thread is to kill yourself. Now. Its the only way to stick to your "absolute" mantra. Ooops, I guess you have no choice but to buy into the whole "relative" thing to save your butt. Backed into another corner.” 9:00:37 AM 12/19/06 “Yeah, you are backed into a corner. LMAO! How's that pilot license coming? LOL!!! You flying those new fangled solar-powered airplanes?” 9:02:07 AM 12/19/06 “I believe in global warming and a few other things as well... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ”9:04:13 AM 12/19/06 “"Bravo! I hope you get to achieve that in the future. As I've mentioned here before, that is exactly my long-term goal at my current house. That's why all the energy-cutting activities right now." Thanks. I found that replacing my lights with fluro's really had an impact on the electric bill. In the city, sometimes our motion sensor will trip the outdoor floods more than a few times during the night. 200 watts reduced to 28 watts. My wife and two boys have bad habits with the lights. In the rare case that all of the house lights are on at once, it still isn't as much as one room was before the change over. Natural gas has been a tough bill around my area the last two years, but not in my home. We just don't use the furnace unless we really have to. Otherwise, it's off. My last months gas bill was 16.00, electric was 75. I was able to salvage almost a cord and a half of wood from spring to summer, so even the wood costs have been nominal. My home also faces south and I benefit greatly with passive solar. We used to budget 200 a month for both gas and electric, that savings per month has been huge for a family on a tight budget like mine.” 9:22:59 AM 12/19/06 “So how am I backed into a corner sargeglo? You gleefully stated that only the whackos think in relative terms, so I proved you could only be absolute (i.e. non-relative) if you killed yourself right this minute to prevent any more of your relative damage to the environment. Since you are still alive, you must now be a whacko environmentalist too. After all, "only the whackos think its all relative"! I haven't flown since May of 1992. You really know how to make yourself look stupid... you thought I still flew, LOL! In light of the damage that aircraft exhaust has on the upper atmosphere, I am glad I didn't follow that as a career path.” 9:46:19 AM 12/19/06 “so I proved you could only be absolute (i.e. non-relative) if you killed yourself right this minute to prevent any more of your relative damage to the environment. Wow. You're dumber than I thought. To prove "relativism" is how we all are, you used the (incorrect and debated) premise that only if I killed myself would I be relative? LMAO! Did you graduate from any school whatsoever???? That's "proof" for you? LMAO! No wonder you believe there is "proof" of global warming! LMAO!!!!! You really know how to make yourself look stupid... you thought I still flew, LOL! That is not what I said. did you read that I said? Obviously not, or if you did, you have trouble comprehending. I (sarcastically) said you didn't want to do that. The other thread indicates that you do want that. That's all I said. You read into it and now look at you ... showing your global warming logic permeates your entire thought process. LMAO! Hey techntrek - I'm not flying a plane right now so I'm saving the environment! Right? LOL!” 9:52:14 AM 12/19/06 “Lumberjack, I just checked out that link. I don't buy into it for several reasons. First, the output specs for that unit would be overreaching for even the best engineered horizontal wind turbine. Second, you just don't get that kind of wind speed that low to the ground, and if you did it would be turbulent all to heck and back. You need to get a turbine at least 100 feet above the ground or any object below it and at least 400 feet away from any object at the same level - to get it up into the airstream and away from all turbulence. Turbulence will kill the bearings and blades of a turbine really, really quickly. Third, turbines create lots of noise and vibration. Their claim that its "quiet" is BS. They all howl, especially in the wind speeds they claim its output specs need. Vibration has been a major problem for turbines in the past that were attached to homes - the sound travels through the frame of the house and then ends up getting amplified by the walls (think "speaker"). Supposedly rooftop vertical turbines like this are all the rage in England now, but I think its just a fad. There's just no way to get good power from that point, and the noise transferred into the house would drive you to drink. If your ex's were whackos and can produce some good crap, you're all set.” 9:57:32 AM 12/19/06 “Like I said, "The only way to make it absolute is to have absolutely zero impact on your local and world environment. "Absolute" means no grey areas, no middle ground." Since you want to be absolute (because you don't want to be a whacko relativist) you only have 2 choices: affect the environment by living, or stop by dieing. Its pretty simple, I'm sorry you can't grasp the concept. Here you go again trying to drill down into minutae to derail the conversation, and getting it all wrong to boot. "that only if I killed myself would I be relative". No, I said if you killed yourself you could maintain your absolute position. You may continue to live if you agree that you are in fact relative like the rest of us. I never said on any thread I wanted to or am currently flying. I was pretty clear that I had little chance of getting my ham license OR my pilot's license since I'm not working on either one right now. You thought you had me backed into a corner because you thought I was flying - and you wanted to point out its detrimental effects on the environment. Sorry I cut off that avenue of attack. And yes, since you aren't currently flying you are doing something good for the environment. Very good!” 10:13:44 AM 12/19/06 “Um ... "no". You're a relativist because you think because you (think you) do less harm to the envirnment, you're better. An absolutist knows it doesn't matter one way or the other what petty things you do. Your bias that you think you can make a difference is why don't see that you're being a relativist. And "no", I never thought you were flying. And yes, since you aren't currently flying you are doing something good for the environment. Very good! Like I said, you're a relativist whacko.” 10:29:07 AM 12/19/06 “Whacko is a relative term and you would be the bench mark ,Goon.” 10:37:36 AM 12/19/06 “I don't think I'm better than you because I do less harm. And I can quantitatively measure the reduced harm so I don't just think I am, I know I am. If I burn less coal I can measure the reduced CO2 in the atmosphere. The ultimate goal is not just to do less harm, but to prevent harm from occurring at all (and reverse harm done in the past), while maintaining the advantages of modern technology - NOT reverting to a hunter-gatherer society. I know I'm a relativist and have said so above, why do you think I don't think so?” 10:49:31 AM 12/19/06 “Luckily sarge's extremist views are becoming more and more irrelavant to the real world.” 1:21:26 PM 12/19/06 “You're just being drawn into his details argument. Sarge knows he's on very weak ground, so he's now turned to the difference between mentalists or whatever. It's one of the tactics you pointed out earlier I think. He's also turning to personal abuse Wow. You're dumber than I thought. He'll soon be claming a personal attack on him.” 1:23:57 PM 12/19/06 “lou-sirs” 1:24:40 PM 12/19/06 “Y2 - true, true, true, and true. Oh, and look, another personal attack from him. Imagine that.” 2:05:33 PM 12/19/06 “look who's talking hippiecrit” 2:28:52 PM 12/19/06 5:47:26 PM 12/19/06 “One thing ya can't hide Is when you're crippled inside” 8:04:33 PM 12/19/06 “Apparently Exxon has been spending big bucks to intentionally confuse the public on the issue of global warming...just as the tobacco companies did for the issue of lung cancer for decades. http://sustainablog.blogspot.com/2007/01/ucs-report-on-exxonmobils.html” 9:50:55 AM 1/05/07 “WOW...and how is Exxon raising the temp on Mars...you know the ice cap is melting on Mars....maybe that is due to...THE SUN IS HOTTER????” 10:11:26 AM 1/05/07 “Silly XL has no clue.” 10:28:42 AM 1/05/07 “SIlly Laqtose the Intolerant go back to the walls of Academia...debate the Utopian theory of Free Money for picking the right font for the sign.” 10:50:41 AM 1/05/07 Jump to Page << prev
