Fritz, when you have it on "low", does only 1 LED light come on?...medium...2 LED lights come on etc.? Or all the lights turn on, but only fainter.

All three are on at once, regardless of setting.

Tikka hat...
I took the strap off of my Tikka (weight freak). Whenever I need a headlamp, I slip it through the velcro on my hat-it works great for me!

G00SE has a headlamp that velcros to a hat brim. Pretty cool but kinda a pain. Especially when you want to wear a different hat or go without a hat.

During last weekend's winter backpack, I used the Tikka for snowshoeing in pitch black darkness. It was fine for the snow a few feet in front of you.

If you have someone with you who is ahead (or behind) several feet, you wouldn't be able to see that person very well unless he's wearing a lamp too.

I broke down...I bought a Tikka...couldn't wait for the Princeton Aurora. Tried it out in a closet...works great.

Last week I picked up an Aurora at REI, but even with the new whiz bang extra features I'm not sure it will overwhelm the wonderful simplicity of my Tikka. OTOH, the Aurora was cheaper.

i've been using my tikka at work....i am working with a developer restoring an 1874 hotel building....the tikka is great for keeping my hands free when crawling around in the basement or attic spaces....the other guys all made fun of me at first, but now they all want to borrow it!!
