I didn't bother to check on the first game and listed Texas southern. I see now that it's UNC Asheville. That's what mine should read, like it'll matter.

arc, why do you have a TBA in the middle of the pack. When there's an upset that can't be your to be announced entry. You sound like Dunadan back in football season when he didn't submit all his teams.

I couldn't help but notice how much respect Arc gave Creighton in his picks.
Cocoa, you are truly self-transcendent. Did you break your wrist typing in Bama above Auburn?
Looks like we all respect Kentucky, especially you boys whose teams have had to play them.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!

Dunadan already has 257 points.
I really thought So. Illinois would pull it out against Missouri. All of the other games went my way, barely. Cal and NC St goes to overtime. Gonzo wins again against a very worthy opponent. Some very tight ball games, folks.

WAR EAGLE BOYS!
Hey DICK (vitale) Go lick Duke's balls some more you prick. The Tigers proved they deserved to be in the tournament.

Not that anyone cares... and I really have NOT been following Iowa Hawkeye bball this year. AND OF COURSE, IT'S THE **NIT** SO YOU REALLY DON'T STINKIN' CARE

However... last night I see Iowa beat Iowa State 54-53. LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!! MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhahhahahahahahaha

Ahhhhhh, always good to have a laugh at the expense of Iowa State.

I guess GA Tech is up Monday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Where are you southern boys to rib about this?? (at least till the game begins. LOLOL!!

Attention, Basketball Fans!
108 to 76. Now that's more like it.
Auburn pulls it out.
Bama plays a tight one with the Hoosiers, then Indiana can't hit the basket against Pitt.
Kansas has Duke in their future. How sweet that victory would be.
Big 12 looking pretty good. Pac 10 goes bye-bye, except for a lucky Arizona.
SEC looking pretty good, also. Mich. St. and Florida could be a good one.
I would give this tourney an A+ so far. Lots and lots of great games.....

It's Sunday morning as with apologies to REM it's the end of the world as I know it and cocoa feels fine. I think I noticed blood in the Coosa River this morning on the way to work. As I walked up to the office the sound of locusts were heard and the moon had turned to blood. Auburn is wearing cinderalla's boots, I mean glass slipper.

Congrats Auburn! War Dame EAGLE!

Wow, the three traditional football powers have crept into the 1, 2, and 3 spots. New kid Florida is in 4th. Never been Kansas is in 5th. Does anyone smell pork. Based on the Sweet Sixteen results, the only thing needed to succeed in this poll is a football tradition. Sorry, but a tradition is not made in 12 years.

How many points did everyone give Butler??????
I might stink at prediction, but I'm not last! Arky, you are goin' down, man!!!

I would like to send my condolences to Arclite. Big time ouch......

Auburn????? Well, they had their run.

Could Duke have had two better teams to play to get to the Sweet 16?
Maryland must go!!!
Good luck everybody!

OK, I just got a team in a radio promotion for the Sweet Sixteen. I get a T-shirt and Pizza Hut meal whatever (just for having magic dialing fingers)

However, if my team wins, I get a home entertainment system. So I suppose the Syracuse Orangemen suck, eh?

dayhiker

3/27/03

I would volunteer to drive up there and install the system (that is what our family business does on the Gulf Coast) but there are two things wrong with that idea.

One, the Orangemen are not going to win.

Two, with what I have left in the tournament, the orangemen have a better chance of winning the whole show than I have of being the new BB god.

It's KU's lame excuse...I mean, it's their chant that is deeply rooted in their great tradition...yada yada yada!

The footballapalooza I group were fortunate enough to get to see Dunadan personally do the chant. It's actually pretty cool.
dayhiker

From the KU student handbook.

World’s Greatest College Cheer
The University Science Club officially adopted the famous “Rock Chalk” chant in 1886. A chemistry professor, E.H.S. Bailey, and some of his associates were returning from a conference by train to Lawrence. As they traveled, they talked of the need for a good, rousing yell. The click-clack of the train wheels passing over the rail joints suggested a rhythm and a cadence to them. At first, their version was “Rah, Rah, Jayhawk, KU” repeated three times. Later, in place of the rahs, an English professor suggested “Rock Chalk,” a transposition of chalk rock, the name for the limestone outcropping found on Mount Oread, site of the Lawrence campus. The cheer became known worldwide. Teddy Roosevelt pronounced it the greatest college chant he’d ever heard. It was used by Kansas troops fighting in the Philippines in 1899, in the Boxer Rebellion in China, and World War II. At the Olympic games in 1920, the King of Belgium asked for a typical American college yell. The assembled athletes agreed on KU’s Rock Chalk and rendered it for His Majesty.

WTF? A Rutgers man giving the history of the KU chant?

I do concur with dayhiker though. Dunadan's redition of it on the banks of the beautiful Hurricane Creek in the rolling Ozark Mountains was impressive.

Of course the 30 pack that arky packed in might have contributed to the moment.

Gosh, there's an awful lot of spelling in that Rock Chalk chant. Could be trouble for freshmen!!! lol

I wondered if it had to do with the Flint Hills type stuff (or is that... SHUDDER... Manhattan area?? LMAO) Least Lawrence is right on the interstate.

Go Syracuse!!!

I personally think the Minnesota cheer is stupid. Some goey gitchee goey goome stuff.
