hey I got my photo gallery online finally from my trip up to Mt. Leconte on January 21, 2000. It still needs some work so feel free to give me any suggestions or comments. I will be adding the trail story along with the pictures soon. the address is http://www.imahiker.com/gallery/leconte.jpg of course pictures could never give the trip any justice.”
“Im sorry the address is
“I guess no one wants to see my gallery. Jerks!
“i saw it. the pictures were way too small, even when i clicked to enlarge them.”
“are these the latest in micropics??”
I must be a jerk!
“I guess I'm a jerk if I look and a jerk if I don't.
[That's what I get for falling asleep and missing the 30 minute viewing period.]”
“As you can see I put "LOL" after that post. Grumpy, Grumpy. I was trying to make the pages load a little faster but I will work on making them a little bigger.”
“I never saw you ask this group about the conditions in the Smokies. This is the best group to ask. The OAN group has hardly only a couple of people in Georgia and not much else that-a-ways.”
“Actually I have been asking for the last week for updates on Mt. Leconte since I'm going back up here in two weeks. I've been posting messages at least a couple times per day.”
“I like the idea of thumbnails and the top pic switching as you click on the thumbnails, but they are still too small and fuzzy.
Looks like a nice spot. Smokies?”

Here? And no responses? I'm surprised.”
I'm a jerk!
“imahikerdotcom - I thought LOL meant "Lots of Luck," but I have a lot to learn. Did not completely mean to upset you, but it appeared that you called me a jerk. How did you know?
Now, I looked! And I enjoyed your pictures. They remind me of when I had a white Christmas there. With what did you take the photographs? Did you take any special measures to keep the camera warm? And what trail or trails did you use?
Friends, I hope, even if I am a jerk.
“Hey thanks for the compliments I was just kiddin. Anyway I just used a standard point and shoot camera (very cheap) so I wasn't to worried about it getting ruined. A lot of the photos had white spots on them I had to remove with Photoshop. Those pictures are from the Rainbow Falls Trail that leads to the summit of Leconte.”
“Per you all's request I made the smaller images just a little bit bigger I will make the larger ones bigger as well but that will be later. I am very concerned about page load times. Please visit and give me feedback
“Sheeeeyat, if we can put up with the load times on THIS site, we can surely wait for yours.”
“ima - I had a look at your pics. The large image files look to be between 10k and 13k each. I think you could easily double that, at least, without being concerned about load time. Most of the full size pics, on my site, are between 40k and 50k as progressive jpg's so the image appears and then gradually improves.
As for the thumbnails, if you want to keep the file sizes to a minimum, you could still make the images larger and just compress them more. They're just thumbs, after all. They don't need to be very high res. Once they have loaded, they don't have to reload every time someone views a full size pic. Experiment a little. Good luck”
“thanks for sharing the photos of that hike,,it is like old home week....,i have done that one so many times (i used to live there and worked in gatlinburg.
I have a soft spot for rainbow falls....the last time i hiked there, i was about to give birth to my son......the people up there were freaked ..heh......matter of fact, i went into labor three days later....
“Jerk........er....I mean Iamahikerdotcom. Which one of those dudes is you?”
“Where is Barb? She lives in Cumberland Gap and knows all about those Smokies.”
“Dang Maryphyl. You just flung a cravin on me! I ain't been to Cumberland Gap in a long time!”
“iluv..thanks for the shots. I usually get up there to do alum cave trail once a year.
Dude, not without me you don't! I love that trail.”
“Ain't it great!
Ridge Trail ROCKS!!!”
“I'm the one in the blue and the other is my dad”
