Wendsday morning at 5:00 as the day begins,
Silently closing her bedroom door,
Leaving the note that she'd hoped would say more,
She goes down stairs to the kitchen clutching her hankerfief,
Quietly truning the backdoor key,
Stepping outside she is free.

Hey Ewker, if ya find any of your old concert shirts save them. You can get like $100 a pop on E Bay for them.

Ewker, my brother introduced me to Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks after he was stationed in Oakland back around 71. He'd write me letters back in Michigan telling me what bands he was seeing in the Bay Area clubs. One day he was driving in Berkeley and passed some hippie cowboy lookin' dude who was hitchhiking, noticed the silver heels on the guy's cowboy boots and slammed on the brakes. He'd seen those boots the night before on stage at the concert he'd been to -- it was one of the band members of Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen. My brother was able to give the guy a ride back to the tour bus.

Oh, those were the days. I have the Dan Hicks album "Striking It Rich" on CD and sometimes it just really fits the mood.

One of the most beautiful liner notes ever can be found in the "Bad Brains - Banned In DC" release. It's a compilation of the works of Bad Brains, with much of it being remastered from early albums.

Anyhow, the liner note reads, "The vinyl remembered. Praise Jah."

The vinyl remembered indeed!!

Just went downwtown and picked up Preter Gabriel's new DVD for Maple, and while I was at it, got John Hammond's 'At The Crossroads'- The Blues of Robert Johnson. Great stuff!

While I was at J&R Music World in lower Manhattan, there was a guy across the street outside City Hall yelling at Mike Bloomberg. Only problem was that Mike Bloomberg wasn't there. He was yelling at the building. And giving Mike fair warning that he wasn't going to take another mass transit hike. Adds new meaning to the act of 'Fighting City Hall.'

I wanna get Clapton's new CD of Johnson covers. I have the Robert Johnson box of complete recordings (except for the one Blind Dog Fulton wouldn't come across with!) and want to here Eric do some of them.

Yeah, I've got the movie on VHS (no dvd). Vai brought out a box set and one CD is all the stuff he did for movies and he has the whole ax battle plus extras that didn't make it into the movie.

A cherry red Ibanez. The Karate Kid was playing an old beat up Fender. This is what makes the whole thing so unbelievable. LOL!

"If ya like that wanky kinda stuff one of those heavy metal wank sticks will do just fine."

LOL! It ain't a heavy metal wank stick. The Ibanez Gem was made to go beyond what the Strat could handle. It just happened to come out and be able to do everything asked of it and the heavy metal wankers picked it up. It's amazing what a difference a 7th string can make.

Ramones - Mania

Much to my wife's dismay, I've got my two kids (4 and 8) listening to, and loving, the idiot savants of rock-n-roll. Far better to mold their impressionable young minds on old school punk than that hair-band crap she listens to.

Hey Ordin! Love the Ramones. Got to spend a half hour with Johnny and Joey in 1979 in a hotel room near Busch Gardens for a radio interview. One of my most cherished memories. They were real nice guys...
