The sun is hot and that old clock is movin' slow
And so am I
The workday passes like molasses in wintertime
But it's July

I'm gettin' paid by the hour and older by the minute
My boss just pushed me over the limit
I'd like to call it somethin'
I think I'll just call it a day

Chorus
Pour me somethin' tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past twelve but I don't care
It's 5 O'clock somewhere

This lunch break is gonna take all afternoon
half the night
Tomorrow morning I know they'll be hell to pay
Hey, but that's alright

I ain't had a day off now in over a year
My Jamican vacation's gonna start right here
Get the phones for me
You can tell 'em I just sailed away

Chorus
Pour me somethin' tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past twelve but I don't care
It's 5 O'clock somewhere

I could pay off my tab
Pour myself in a cab
And be back to work before 2

At a moment like this
I can't help but wonder
What would Jimmy Buffet do?

Jimmy Buffet
Funny you should ask that
I'd say
Pour me somethin' tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past twelve but I don't care

Jimmy buffett and Alan Jackson together
Pour me somethin' tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past twelve but I don't care
Alan Jackson: He don't care... I don't care
It's five o'clock somewhere

Jimmy Buffett
What time zone am I on?
What country am I in?

Alan Jackson
It doesn't matter, it's five o'clock somewhere

Jimmy Buffett
It's always on 5 in margarittaville come to think of it

Alan Jackson
I heard that

Jimmy Buffett
You've been to there haven't ya?

Alan Jackson
Yes sir.

Jimmy Buffett
I seen your boat there

Alan Jackson
I've been to margarittaville a few times

Jimmy Buffett
Alright, well that's good.

Alan Jackson
I'm on my way back.

Jimmy Buffett
Well alright, I just wanna make sure you can keep it between the navigational beacon.
Alright, well it's five o'clock, let's go somewhere.

Alan Jackson
I'm ready, crank it up.

Jimmy Buffett
Let's get outta here

Alan Jackson
I'm gone

Jimmy Buffett
Let's get outta here.

Wait, it is 5 o'clock,,,here! I am outta here.

THREE HUNDRED POUNDS OF JOY

by Willie James Dixon
arranged by Howlin' Wolf (Chester Arthur Burnett)

All you girls think the days are gone
You don't have to worry, you can have your fun
Take me, baby, for your little boy
Three hundred pounds of heavenly joy
This is it
This is it
Look what you get

You been creeping and hiding behind his back
'Cause you got you a man that you don't like
Throw that Jack, baby, outta your mind
Follow me, baby, have a real good time
This is it
This is it
Look what you get

Hoy! Hoy! I'm the boy
Three hundred pounds of heavenly joy
I'm so glad that you understand
Three hundred pounds of muscle and man
This is it
This is it
Look what you get

If the men's all mad then the women's glad
If the little kids' happy then the old folk's mad
I'm so glad that you understand
Three hundred pounds of muscle and man
This is it
This is it
Look what you get

Lagwagon

NOBLE END
He grew up with nothing
He lived and died poor
a father of four He left his family temporarily
for a future based on words of chicanery
They said
join the Army
Join the Navy He joined the Marines
and his children were proud but exhaltation was exhausted
and patronage died when this expendable number left his family of five
Imposture
and all that man wanted was
to provide a better existence for his kids and wife
An investment that cost him his life
A family of ethics has...
A fatality of war can't be noble enough to justify the loss of life so young
Continental security
Atonement, there's no such thing There was no hero in the end
Only letters of resent, remorse, regret Bitter resent
Imposture
and all those boys wanted was to be alive,
a return of existence
yet so many died and those who returned were alone
with nothing awaiting at home Again the headlines read
"A Noble Soldier Finds A Noble Ending" They are the ones who can be done without
Expendable numbers forgotten no doubt A family of ethics has died

Wanted man in California,
Wanted man in Buffalo
Wanted man in Kansas City,
Wanted man in Ohio
Wanted man in Mississippi,
Wanted man in ol' Cheyenne
Wherever you might look tonight you might see this wanted man
I might be in Colorado,
Or Georgia by the sea
Working for some man who may not know at all who I might be
If you ever see me coming
and if you know who I am
Don't you breathe it to nobody
'cause you know I'm on the lamb
Wanted man by Lucy Watson,
Wanted man by Jeannie Brown
Wanted man by Nellie Johnson,
Wanted man in this next town
I've had all that I wanted
of a lot of things I've had
And a lot more than I needed
of some things that turned out bad
I got sidetracked in El Paso,
Stopped to get myself a map
Went the wrong way in Pleura
with Juanita on my back
Went to sleep in Shreveport,
Woke up in Abilene
Wonderin' why I'm wanted at some town half way in between
Wanted man in Albuquerque,
Wanted man in Syracuse
Wanted man in Tallahassee,
Wanted man in Baton Rouge
There's somebody set to grab me Anywhere that I might be
And wherever you might look tonight
You might get a glimpse of me
Wanted man in California,
Wanted man in Buffalo
Wanted man in Kansas City,
Wanted man in Ohio
Wanted man in Mississippi,
Wanted man in ol' Cheyenne
Wherever you might look tonight you might see this wanted man

Picked up The Beatles' Revolver today. It always suprises me how I'm continually blown away by these guys. I can't wait for the new 2 disk rerelease of Let It Be "Naked" comes out next week.

Tomorrow Never Knows

Turn off your mind relax and float down-stream,
It is not dying, it is not dying,
Lay down all thought surrender to the void,
It is shining, it is shining.
That you may see the meaning of within,
It is speaking, it is speaking,
That love is all and love is ev’ryone,
It is knowing, it is knowing.
When ignorance and haste may mourn the dead,
It is believing, it is believing,
But listen to the color of your dreams,
It is not living, it is not living.
Or play the existence to the end.
Of the beginning, of the beginning.
Of the beginning. Of the beginning.

The sexual life of the Camel
Is stranger than anyone thinks
One night in a moment of passion
He tried to deflower the Sphinx!

Now, the Sphinx's posterior anatomy
Is covered with sand from the Nile.
That accounts for the hump in the Camel,
And the Sphinx's inscrutable smile!

Exhaustive experimentation
By Darwin, and Huxley and Hall
Has proved that the ass of a hedgehog
Can hardly be buggered at all!

The Baron, he rides on a warhorse,
With a fancy great helluva rig,
He doesn't get there any faster,
But it makes the old bastard feel big!

The King, he sleeps in a feather bed
The Knights all sleep in their sacks;
As a means of self-preservation,
The squires all sleep on their backs!

And here's to the girls of (insert name)
And here's to the alleys they roam,
And here's to their dirty-faced bastards,
God bless 'em, they may be your own!

My father makes illegal whiskey,
My mother makes illegal gin,
My sister runs guns for the Dark Horde:
My God, how the money rolls in!

My brother's a poor missionary
He saves little girlies from Sin!
He'll save you a blonde for five dollars...
My God, how the money rolls in!

And here's to the Outlands' new Navy!
Let's all give them three cheers!
The first submarine made of adobe....
It's been down for thirty-two years!

So here's to the War at Estrella
Where all of us landed in gaol,
And here's to the (insert name) maidens,
Who gave us our first piece of tail!

hey... I'm in a folky mood.
