Tonight I'm TTing (and working, yuc) w/ ...
Patty Griffin

Check out these lyrics...

My friend, my friend, you are traveling
So many secrets are unraveling
Some other's pictures coming into view
I see the water washing over you
And the water's speaking, now, it speaks your name
I hear it talking to me
Sometimes when it rains
Telling me a story of joy or pain
But I've got no regrets baby, I've got no shame

'Cause we are water
We flow and flow
I feel you pouring through
Every inch of my soul and
I really must tell you this
Baby, before you go
We are water
We flow and flow

I am a river, baby
I've got plenty of time
I don't know where I'm going
I'm just following the lines
There's just no telling where this river will flow
I got no choice in the matter, baby
I just go where it goes
I'm making my bed tonight
Right under this cloud
Sometimes the lightening's so frightening
Sometimes the thunders' so loud
Still, I know this tide is always kissing my heels
Sometimes I think I'm drowning in all these things that I feel

And we are water
We flow and flow
I feel you pouring through
Every inch of my soul and
I really must tell you this
Baby, before you go
We are water
We are water
We are water
We flow and flow

Out on the beach today, I did not find
One single footstep that we left behind
So I went swimming in the deep blue sea
And I could feel the water all around me

'Cause we are water
We flow and flow
I feel you pouring through
Every inch of my soul and
I really must tell you this
Baby, before you go
We are water, we are water
We are water, we are water
We are water, we are water
We are water
We flow and flow
We flow and flow

Nah, Not everything.

I don't really like Country... unless it's old, classic stuff or more rockabilly.

Not a fan of regular old jazz ("dinner music") or gospel or "soft rock".

And, sorry to report WD, I'm not a big fan of heavy metal/hard rock.

But, that doesn't mean I don't want a copy of your CD when it's completed. There are always exceptions.

The woman who claimed to have written that song used to be on TT.

Then the mood changes drastically with one song, can't remember. Real rough, scratchy guitar.

Did anyone know that Led Zepplin in there song Ramble On had lyrics that referred to Lord of the Rings.

"T'was in the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair.
But Gollum, and the evil one crept up and slipped away with her, her, her."

This was mentioned at the very end of the Lord of the Rings, The two Towers.

BlindBoysBeenSingingTogetherSinceThe'30s
RR and the Blind Boys are on this Wed near me...@ 1am. Gotta remember to hit the VCR. Got to record all the shows I wanted except one...missed Robert Plant.

I got to see both RR and the Blind Boys this summer in TN, seen RR on NYE with MOE also. If RR were to quit talking to the audience and trying to get them to shake their hips and clap their hands, he'd have time to play twice as much music.

Picked up The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's Will The Circle Be Unbroken Vol. III yesterday...28 tracks of obsessive and virtuosic music and harmonies by many of the great country and bluegrass musicians of today and yesterday.

The local public radio station played The Blind Boys' most recent album earlier this week. I believe it was called Higher Ground. Nice sound. Ben Harper plays some guitar and back-up vocals, as well.

Buddur - I missed the Robert Plant one, too. :-( They'll play the re-run one of these days...

I missed the only ACL show I wanted to see - John Hiatt. Our local statio was doing their fundraising, and either they never played it, or I just missed it. :(

Right now I"m listening to some awful Narada Christmas music. Its my mom's favorite. Yuck.....

My wife and I just saw Tori in San Francisco on Saturday nite. She's incredible. She did just about all the Scarlets Walk songs and a lot of the old ones. About a two hour show.

Roads go ever ever on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea;
Over snow by winter sown,
And through the merry flowers of June,
Over grass and over stone,
And under mountains of the moon.

Roads go ever ever on
Under cloud and under star,
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green
And trees and hills they long have known.
