Pathman - did you happen to see David Byrne on Austin City Limits last Saturday? He was interesting - a little different than their usual fare.

No I missed it. He's doing a show here with (get this) Emmy Lou Harris September 27. Landmine Free World Benefit. I should be going to see that. Why am I not?

Austin City Limits is awesome.

Toby Keith is on the schedule. Farm Aid was just in(near) Pittsburgh this past weekend and Toby was there (I wasn't). At the end of the show everybody came out and played together and Toby sung a song "I Ain't Smokin' Weed With Willie No More". The loca radio station played some of it and it was a hoot.

I'm kinda late getting on TT tonight cause I've been recording again. Got a new HEAVY tune I'm working on. The Drums, bass, & one guitar is done. Got one more guitar track to put down. I'll do it tommorrow.
Kinda sounds like Black Sabbath or Dio.

Do you need a bass track? I've got a friend, former bass player for the Motels. Writes his own lyrics, sings. He does all his stuff on a cyber studio he set up on a Mac G4 in his garage. Records, produces, burns the CD's and did all the graphics. His is mostly alternative, gothic sort of stuff

I put a bass track down because it really gives the song a lot more power. Plus I was a bass player in bands for years and I couldn't imagine doing a song without it.

The Motels did some neat crap, back in the days...

200, eh, V-man? If I was already in New Mexico, Suuuure... but figuring in the airfare, it's a little steep, <G>.

I did catch David Byrne on Austin City Limits last week. He did some of the old Talking Heads stuff... with a full string section, of course!

I'm going to check out his site more later. I gotta go to bed now. I plan on getting some software to make better recordings on once I can afford a better computer. For now I'm using a cheap 4-track to help compose them.
Don't know if I'll ever find myself in another band again. I'd be fun if I had the time.

I got hooked on Talking Heads way back in '79 or so. Lost interest the last couple of albums, but liked some of Byrne's solo stuff. He's a little weird, but talented.

When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you

If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do

Fate is kind
She brings to those to love
The sweet fulfillment of
Their secret longing

Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true...

I've been working on recording a new song. I did the drum track last night and & intro guitar track. Tonight I did the bass and another guitar track. Tommorrow I'll hopefully have the solo done. I almost got it worked out what I want to do. This weekend a friend is going to listen to it and help write lyrics and maybe do the vocal track.

We've (the old band) got on of our old songs complete and I've got 4 of my own tunes almost finished.

Not sure when it'll be ready. There's two CD's in the works. A band I was in a loooong time ago (Flashback). We're recording all our old origionals. And I'm doing one mostly myself. I've got a little outside help from different people. My stuff is pretty heavy. The old band stuff (Flashback) is more Southern Rock sounding.
