The format is 90X70 centimeters.
What does 'paint buildup' mean? I didin't put on thick layers of colour, so there is no relief effect to it. Just simple layers of colours, so that I get the best effect from the translucent ultramarin compared to the more opaque colours.
Is that what you have been asking?

The picture is totally different from the image I had in mind when I started painting. The picture suddenly seemed to have its own mind. My intention was to paint a picture that I could look at for contemplation. Sort of Zen. I chose blue, because it draws the viewer into infinite. The motiv should not represent anything particulare or real, but be open for interpretation. It should invite the imagination to play with the abstract forms.

So, to be honest, I am not sure what I have been painting there or what I see in it?

I guess I should have said how thick are the paint layers. It looks like several thin layers on it.

How about calling it "Penumbra." That means (more or less) partial shadow.

Thanks for the compliment Os, but the picture isn't even worth the costs of the shipping :-)
And what should I do if you take it, stare at the wood panelling of the wall for some Zen enlightenment?
And where would you hang it anyway?

Interesting dizzy, my own interpretation is that of a storm. I thought the dark triangle in the lower right looks like a famouse mountain, the Eiger. Therefore the titel I came up with was: "The Weather Changes - Storm over Eiger, Sunshine Over Grindelwald Village"
Maybe a bit long for a picture name, huh?
=0)

Hmmmm. I wonder how much it would have cost to ship the "Mona Lisa" after the paint had dried?
I guess that postage is covered now!
I would hang it in the Lodge at the new camp.

i can see the mountain euro. it's a good painting. the storm feeling came right out at me, and not a chaotic feeling of being in the thick of it; it was the feeling of it's eminence.

Yup, it's a VW Golf with a ski box on a rack.

It took 3 and a half hours to dig to it.

Gremlin, when did you get all that snow?

Dizzy, I had to look up the word eminence in the dictionary :-)
I guess the fun part is that the picture can be whatever one sees in it. When I turn it 90 I beliefe I see an arctic landscape and almost expect a little sailboat coming around one of those icebergs like a ghost ship.

OS, copyrighted it? I haven't yet signed and dated it :-) If you wish make a print of it. If you want I even email you a high resolution digital photo. Could do that Friday. Will come completly free of postage.

Euro that would be great, thank you.
I tried enlarging the image you posted and it went very large with no loss or pix-elation.
Signed copy would make it more valuable in about 500 years then I can take it to the auction!

yes, sunfish and blue gill are related, part of the freshwater perch family. prettiest sunfish i ever caught was like a bright little orange yellow sunburst.

LOL@ trubrit! it's just easier to hold onto them that way. they have nice little gripper tip, feels like velcro, and that position immobilizes them.
