Well in my defense I never said I was going home and drink it all in one night. LOL! And the tequila and Everclear were for my wife and a friend.

Spent the weekend in the Cohutta Wilderness in North Georgia.

Took Hemp Mountain trail to Penitentiary Branch Trail and camped alongside the Jacks River.
These trails are kinda nice in accessing the Jacks River, as you have an almost equal uphill and downhill going each direction!

Nice hike with my pup. She did awesome!!!

Nope we haven't met yet. Although a few years ago there was some conjecture about a possible boat trip around Eagle Creek Campsite in GSMNP that never worked out. Still got it on my list to do eventually.

Sounds pretty cool down there Opie. I have been meaning to get down that way to explore Cohutta and Big Frog Wilderness. I got a book for there about 8 years ago, but have never made it. I think that part of Big Frog Wilderness is on my Cherokee NF NG topo map.

Yeah you are right Nowslimmer. That is where I got the idea for the water trip. I hiked in the Lakeshore Trail and back around the AT. Was sitting at the campsite on Thanksgiving eating my MH Turkey Tetrazini, and noticed a fellow in another campsite had a full size Coleman stove, canned food, and a cabin sized tent. Turns out his canoe was parked around the corner.

Just found out a bunch of Air Force chicks will be on the trail crew with me this weekend. It's the crew that works along a creek with some nice swimming holes and goats pack in several cases of beer and steaks. Woo Hoo!

I had a pretty good weekend. It was busy from the beginning to the end, but it was a good mix of chores and fun stuff. At the end I was tired like hell, but it was this good way of being tired, that makes one sleep like a baby, not this stressed out way of tired.
I wish more weekends were like this.

My trail crew trip got cancelled because the road up there was muddy. So I went solo and skinny dipped by myself.

*collapses in the floor*

Started my weekend Saturday by driving through Mendocino NF, walked around the Mendocino Headlands, drove down CA Hwy 1 to Reyes Point National Seashore, slept in the Hostel inside the park, spent last night on the beach watching the milky way, woke up at 6am, drove to the North Beach, went to sea lion overlook, walked up to the lighthouse, hauled ass back to Hwy 1, toured the missile batteries above the Golden Gate Bridge, drove across into San Fran and spent 3 hours in Chinatown. Across the mid-bay bridge, and back in my hotel room 2.5 hours later. G'night.

That's about all of a trip report TT'ers will read nowadays, you want the rest, call me.

NGB and I spent the day travelling down the Natchez Trace from Jackson to Natchez.

Stopped by several neat points of interest on the way down including Emerald Mound. Second largest Pre-Columbian Mound in America.

If you are ever in Natchez, don't miss Fat Mama's Tamales! They were awesome.

Today I started my weekend with viewing a new flat. The place I currently live is a bit noisy, because it's close to a junction, but apart from this it has so many advantages that it may be difficult to find a 'better' place.

Then I went into the fitness centre. First I did the work out routine. The chest pains that I had been complaining about for month are almsot completly gone.
After the work out I went into the sauna. The have a mixed sauna and a ladies-only sauna. So far I always went into the ladies sauna, which has two hot rooms - the polar light sauna and the candle light sauna. Next time, when I feel adventurous, I shall try the mixed sauna - they have the lava room and the fire and ice room.

I'm dating my chainsaw.....trees and brush are learning to FEAR me....

Then I'm moonlighting as a pyromaniac, burning all the rees and brush I've cut...afterward, I'll use the coal bed to grill steaks and bake potatos.....might even howl at the moon when it comes up tonight....

depends on how many bottles of Blue Nun I empty......

I'll be working in the garden this morning (what's left of it) and enjoying afternoon thunderstorms later in the day. I love summer storms. They cool things off nicely, but they also force one to get going in the morning and get stuff done and put away before everything gets soaked.
