Description
Just finished a backcountry trip through Wind Cave National Park (late June '09). Weather and bugs were no problem and it was a great trip with a lot of wildlife. We met no other hikers! If you go, be prepared to bypass bison along the trail and pick a parallel route. Trail markers were almost all visible but a few had been knocked down. NO water sources were available. So your range is limited. Don't plan on purifying water as you go. The only water was a a couple of muddy buffalo wallows.

Directions to Hike
We used the north trailhead inside of WCNP.
