Description
This is a loop trail that is clearly signed its entire route. There is also a spur trail to Church Pond at the crest of the high ridge. The trail travel through many types of terrain including forest, creek bed, and a sage covered ridge. Water is available at three diffrent spots, and creek crossings will get your shoes wet. Maps of the hike are available at the trailhead sign. It is a moderately strenuous hike that is completed in about 4 hours.

Directions to Hike
From Reno-South on HWY 395 to the Mt Rose HWY which is SR 431. Turn right onto the Mt Rose HWY. Go about 7 miles to the south entrance of Galena Creek Park. It is a paved road on the right with a sign. Stay on the paved road for about 3/4 of a mile, following the Trailhead Parking signs. Park on the left side of the parking lot. The trail starts just behind the Trailhead sign.
