Description
Mary Jane Falls Trail is located in The Spring Mountains National Recreation area, 45 miles northwest of Las Vegas. The cool, alpine climate surrounding Mount Charleston and the other 10,000 ft. mountains provides a refreshing diversion from the desert heat of the Las Vegas Valley. The Mary Jane Falls Trail is a pleasant hike with a gradual rise via easy switchbacks through a pine forest. At the conclusion of the trail, hikers are welcomed with a small waterfall cascading over the mountain ridge. Even in August, the water trickles down nearly 50 feet. Additionally, there are fantastic views of the upper Kyle Canyon area throughout the 35 minute hike.

Directions to Hike
To get to the Mary Jane Falls trailhead of the Spring Mountains National Recreation area, take Route 95 northwest out of Las Vegas until you reach the intersection of State Route 157. Proceed west on Route 157 for about 20 minutes while you watch the scenery change from desert scrub to mountain forest. Proceed all the way to the end of the road and park at the trailhead. Note: the trail is normally impeded by snow through May.
