Description
Found along Salt Creek just outside of Lincoln, this park offers an unchallenging getaway with great wildlife(especially deer) and well marked trails. The trail system creates a giant loop, half of which follows the Salt creek, half of which winds through great stands of huge sycamore, oak, and other common hardwoods. No camping is available but Kickapoo State park down the road does allow it. Open sunrise to sunset and a great half-day meander.

Directions to Hike
Take first Lincoln exit if coming from Springfield on I-55, third lincoln exit from Chicago on I-55. Take bus.55 towards town, park is on right about 1 mile from exit ramp. Trail heads can be found at both the north and south annexes, I recommend the south annex, it's less used.
