Description
A wild hard-to-believe-I'm-in-Iowa experience. This circuitous route takes you through a variety of land cover from pine stands to oak savanna, while taking you over a very surprising amount of elevation change and generally skirting the bluffs above the Yellow River (home to Iowa's only class II rapids). Back-country sites along the way.

Based on some of the amazing places in the world, I can't in good conscience give it a 5, but I give the trail a solid 4--as good as anything you would find in southern MN, and with less people.

Directions to Hike
county highway B25, approximately 4 miles southeast of Waterville or 3 miles west of Harpers Ferry.
