"This shelter has just been remodeled by the park service. With grants from the Friends of the Smokies, we can enjoy more room in the shelter and seats looking out over the fields!"

"Good camping all around the shelter if it's full. Lots of critters were curious about us the night we were there. Coyotes, deer, and even a bear were seen throughout the day and night. Water source is a ways down, but good. Can see down to Cades Cove from here."

"Another beautiful rebuilt shelter in the Smokies. It's centered on a beautiful wooded and grassy ridgetop, with lots of room for extra tents when the shelter is full. The bunks are separated from the cooking area by a wall, but all under one roof. Water is located down a hill (to the right as you look at the shelter), and is quite a long walk from the shelter."
